  40. Armaments are useless in plain view, I say! I keep my knife in my shoe, my cutlass inside my coat, and a pistol in my trouser pocket. Beneath my coat and shirts, I keep a weapon that's close to my heart: an intricate sharpshooter's musket of a unique design, neatly folded into a compact metal box. Because of my lean, agile frame, my coat hides the bulge.

  48. The son of a wealthy Irish noble and gun collector, young Oscar fell in love with the pirate life from a very early age. By the time he was 13 years old, he decided that he had had enough of the stories. He took off in the middle of night, taking his father's prized collapsing musket with him.
  49.
  50. The pirate life turned out to be too much for the coddled noble's son. Severely traumatized by a year of the real "pirate life," he returned back home, but his father would not have him, calling him a disgrace to the family name. His little sister Elizabeth sheltered and fed him, however. This continued until the elder McDonnell learnt of their arrangement and forced Elizabeth to stop. Oscar returned to the high seas, where the brutality he saw would eventually drive him half-insane, making him into the Banshee that he is now.
