<p style="text-align: justify;"><span>Rhys Lynch used to have a life. When he was younger, he lived with his mother, father, and little sister on a small Earth-like planet called Ceris, spending some days out exploring with his sister Natalia, and some days staying at home to be taught and entertained by his father, Nathan, who was a scientist, engineer, and mechanic all rolled into one. It was a simple kind of existence, but it was a peaceful and enjoyable one. Or at least it was, until GARUDA came.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span>One day, without warning, the small peaceful town that Rhys called his home was attacked by a vicious four-man squad of mercs. They tore through the buildings and townspeople alike with their advanced Combat Mech, slaughtering anyone in their path. It was a brutal massacre that left dozens dead, and it also left Rhys trapped in the burning wreckage of his own home, forced to watch helplessly as his mother was shot dead by the man that seemed to be leading the squad, and his sister and father were kidnapped for unknown reasons.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span>Thanks to the timely arrival of people from the next town over that had seen the destruction from afar, Rhys narrowly avoided burning to death with only light scarring on part of his back. But in one day, his life had been ripped away from him, his mother murdered, and his remaining family kidnapped and taken away to god-knows-where. Though those that rescued him from an early death urged him not to, Rhys set out off into space using a stolen shuttle in search of his sister and father. The only clue that he had to follow was the name that he had seen written on all of the Combat Mechs; GARUDA.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span>Once Rhys discovered that GARUDA was a mercenary group, he decided that the best way to track them down would be through their competition. Rhys started off as a mere errand boy, but as he rose through the ranks, and was inevitably kicked out from one merc group after the other for pursuing his own needs and goals on missions, he honed his natural talent for both fighting on a personal level, assisted by a Combat Suit or not, and his talent for waging war on a larger scale with his Marabi Industries Lockjaw Combat Mech, which he's customized and repaired so many times over the long years that it barely resembles the original product.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Eleven years after the attack that shattered his life, Rhys is currently working for the fairly well known mercenary group called TALON. While he's far from being famous galaxy-wide, Rhys is good enough at his job that most people who prefer to walk on the shadier side of life can easily identify him as The Red Maw, known for the single chainblade he personally wields, and the dual chainblades that his Combat Mech is equipped with, as well as his unmatched ferocity and tenacity.</p>
