  2. 2. Boot screen as usual
  3. 3. Shows "ubuntu 10.04" in white text, purple background (not usually like this)
  4. 4. "Loading please wait...", lots of numbers and letters, "Starting up ..."
  5. 5. Nothing happens, after waiting several minutes
  6. 6. Turn computer off
  7. 7. Turn on again
  8. 8. Wait until it gets to the grub startup screen, press escape
  9. 9. Big list of different kernels, most end with "generic" or "rt", some have "(recovery mode)" afterwards.
  10. 10. I have tried most of them, all stall at some point.
  11. 11. For example, I choose kernel 2.6.32-23-generic, which is the third one down
  12. 12. Starting up ...
  13. 13. Blank screen with small text
  14. 14. Text vanishes, empty black screen
  15. 15. Nothing

  17. Please help! I need to be asleep right now (past my bedtime, I am 15), and I really need my computer to be working in the morning...
