  1. potential to rank if a domain doesn't end in .com
  2. was pondering if only .com , .net , .org domains receive the highest ranks on google. recently decided to purchase a domain but wondering if we should go the more conventional route or just stick with what we have? if it is still niche related should it not be that much of an issue?

  17. Shouldn't be an issue. Most important is the content that you have on the domain, backlinks and social signals.
  18. ?
  19. yeah it is .com, .net, .org gets the most traffic whereas all the new TLDs are shit. Saying it from personal experience. I own 15 domains
  20. I think it depends what you put into them. Crypto/ Companies doing ICOs tend to use .io they get alot of heavy traffic and raise millions of dollars becasue they put alot of work into their site.
  21. I've had a .blog domain for almost 2 years now that seems to rank pretty well.
  22. I didn't notice any difference with it, personally.
  23. Besides the huge renewal cost. Yikes.

  29. Not an issue, but realize that most people think of .com or .net when typing into the search bar
  30. ?
  31.
  32. In terms of ranking, there's virtually no difference between any of the gTLDs.
  33. In terms of the perception by your audience, the TLD may have an very noticable effect. For example, Investments.Dog will almost certainly be less trustworthy than an equivalent COM if you're promoting an investment company, but a lawyer with City.Law may see a notable increase in both type-in and search engine traffic purely due to the unique niche-related TLD.
  34. Hmm, always go for the country extension. The rest are just there to 1) Ensure the brand isn't hijacked 2) Because they think it will work. Stick to the most familiar.

  36. got .io and .co domains ranking well
  37. ?
  38. There is no difference between .com, .org, .cc, .io, etc2 for ranking on google.
  39. The difference is only at renewal price, initial price, and the way they're received by visitor. (.com is the most common, so people think its more trustworthy or something, which is not true.)
  40. ok, with countries with low organic search go for it... I'm out of the days of crap extensions.Age28

  51. I would recommend you to go for domain extension that matches your keyword. PM and I'll show you my results and examples for short keywords that I have ranked in top #1 in google with the use of domain dot extension. Such surgery, house, hosting, etc..
  52. Any tld domain can rank and can get high traffic, if you are willing to put much efforts to rank that site with great content and good backlinks.

  57. Theoretically, there is no difference for google.
  58. But in my experience, I had to work harder to rank .info / .co / etc
  59. .net .org are OK

  62. High-ranking COM domains often have a decade or two of constant SEO behind them, but the oldest of the new TLDs are rarely more than a couple years old.
  63. Well, it depends what niche you are targetting and in which country you're targettig. For India, I use .in and it ranks well within india
