  1. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] Anguish washes over the city as roughly a dozen police officers and several citizens have been killed within the last hour. Though the causes of these deaths are sudden, baseless, and happening at random. Citizens and police officers alike at random have begun killing one another, but each death happens only one at a --
  2. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] time, this isn't happening all across the city, but rather in small spurts every fifteen minutes. The time is around 5PM, so the streets were already quite busy with people getting off work and heading home, making the situation much more hectic than it needed to be. Focusing in, a wounded citizen was approaching a group of --
  3. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] policemen, all of whom were trying to get the citizens in the immediate area to evacuate. The man approaches the police officers who quickly determine the man in front of them is in desperate need of medical help- the chief of the group looks into the eyes of the man and confidently asks "Who hurt you? We will take you to --
  4. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] the hospital, but we will also need to learn what you know. Is. That understood?" There was a slight pause in the chief's voice. He had to crouch down slightly to speak to the relatively shorter citizen- he doesn't even need to order the rest of the men in his squad to call for medical help, it was already phoned in. Seconds --
  5. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] pass, and the chief, who has a clean slate- no records of mental health issues, no criminal history, and was generally respected by his peers, removed the pistol from his side and quickly, mercilessly, and without hesitation mowed down the four other officers with him. The citizen who was stood near the cop doesn't respond --
  6. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] with shock, or fear, but rather is entirely unphased by what's just happened. Many people on the street oversaw this strange event, most of whom would confidently say that there was no build-up; the slaughtering happened out of complete nowhere. The chief looks over his shoulder at the civiliain and right into his eyes; no --
  7. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] words are exchanged, and the chief doesn't hurt or show any malice towards the complete stranger who approached him moments ago. --
  8. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] An ambulance and medical team are quick to arrive at the scene, along with several other police cruisers and officers at the ready. The chief has already dropped his gun and looks to be submitting himself- his squad is pronounced dead at the scene, and both the civilian and chief are taken in for immediate questioning. --
  9. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] The situation is so severe that the civilian's wounded state is entirely ignored, though they don't seem to be complaining much. An overwhelming number of bystanders and surveillance footage said and proved that the civilian they've got in their hands is innocent, but knowing the history of this city they take him in anyways --
  10. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] for questioning, along with the chief, in order to understand why and how this has happened. Several other scenarios just like this are happening in different regions of the city- interrogations without answers. The civilian and chief are sat in the same room, both are restrained from head to toe. With record timing, the --
  11. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] interrogator has entered the room with several armed officers- two stand against each wall with their weapons at the ready. Soon enough, the man running the show, the interrogator George Nichols sits down on the opposite side of the table, it was time to (Try) to get to the bottom of this. --
  12. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] He's a an older man, looks to be in his sixties, who has a somewhat strong build and presence for a man his age. Crisp white hair with streaks of grey hairs in it that's spiky and lays back slightly, paired with a set of cold blue eyes and an unchanging, stoic facial expression. He rests his hands on the table and leans --
  13. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] forward towards the chief, the tips of his fingers touched together and his head craned slightly to the side. "Chief Jefferson.. Clean record; clean man. Never once did you give me the impression you'd lack the capacity for other people's lives, given it's your job to protect people's lives. As you're well aware, there is --
  14. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] no going back from this. You will be stripped of your duties and will more than likely be locked up in prison for an indefinite amount of time should the jury and judge deciding your fate be of ample competency. But before we get to that, we have to get through this. There's undeniable evidence against you, Jefferson, which --
  15. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] means I have to believe it's happened; uncertainty is all I feel. Can you tell me what's brought you to do this? If you're going to be locked away, you may as well explain why, right?" He then goes silent- silence which fills the room for a cold fifteen seconds before the chief finally answers. --
  16. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] There's a feeling of tension flowing through the air in the room; not brought on by the current circumstances, but rather because it feels as though something horrible was about to happen. Like when a prey has spotted a predator in the distance- all it can do is freeze up, and when the two make eye contact there is that --
  17. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] mutual recognition that one's demise is about to unfold at the hands of the other. One of the armed men in the room took his hand off his gun and rubbed the side of his neck anxiously- the rest of them all shifted their weight to their opposite foot. "You're all different than no other man, and your work shouldn't put you --
  18. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] above others. Fate itself is a funny thing.. If you're weak, you will die at the hands of the strong. Law enforcement only gets in the way of that." Jefferson says as he looks into George's eyes, to which George himself then stands up, looks to the armed men, and says. "And you will never take anything from me or anyone else --
  19. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] ever again." Suddenly, one of the armed men's heads is bashed into the wall behind him hard enough for the concrete to crack. A ghostly reddish arm was seen shooting out from George during that moment, but the armed men in the room were unsure of what's just happened. George looks over into the civilian's eyes right before --
  20. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] both he and the chief are gunned down in a horrible display of overkill. Their weapons were automatic, and they made absolute sure that the potential threat was dead. --
  21. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] One takes off their shades, rubbing his forehead as he looks over to the civilian to ensure he's alright. As he holds his shades with his sweaty hands, they slip out of his grip and his shaky legs makes him lose his balance for a moment, causing him to step on his shades. One of the other men in the room generously hand --
  22. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] him their shades- a strange, simple gesture despite the circumstances. None of them had even talked- their breathing was horribly labored and their sense of judgement had clearly been disrupted. --
  23. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] The civilian looks around at the three men, now visibly in shock, looking into the eyes of all three of the men, one of whom still had their shades on. The officer who had been handed the pair of shades goes to put them on, but then 180s his decision and smashes them into the face of the officer who generously handed them --
  24. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] over. It was then that he gunned him down- now there was two. The one who still had his shades on quickly opened fire and killed the one at the first sign of aggression, very quick on the trigger it seems, but could you blame him? He was clutching the sides of his head now, everything that had just happened over the course --
  25. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] of only ten seconds, so to say he was shaken was an understatement. He feels himself over, would he be the one to go berserk next? --
  26. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] The civilian then spoke up, a clear red mist slowly starting to fume off of him almost as if he were on fire. It wasn't plentiful, so at first it wasn't very obvious, but his once green eyes were now a deep brown color. "I knew your shots would ricochet and hit the camera in the room." What comes next sounds like a --
  27. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] gunshot as a reddish, ghostly arm jets out from the civilian's body and smashes the officer in the room through the wall. "You almost survived, just like me. Except fate won't shine on you like it did me. ..Though through a miracle." The civilian then stands up, two reddish arms coming out from behind him and begin ripping --
  28. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] apart his constraints. His skin, his size, slowly his features were changing. The officer he punched through the wall was slumped in the room next door, which was so full of cabinets and paperwork that it was unclear whether or not he had died from the impact. --
  29. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] Two women rush into the room, one of whom came in through the large hole in the wall, she appears to be a secretary. The other enters in after harshly kicking in the door, who seems to be an officer. Her weapon is raised, the civilian quickly raising his hands. "Don't shoot! I don't know what happened, but all of them --
  30. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] began killing one another!" The female officer tightens her grip on her gun, staring down the civilian with clear disbelief and prolonged eye-contact full of malice and an evident fire burning within her to get revenge for her fallen colleagues. Just as she's about to pull the trigger another officer quickly approaches her --
  31. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] from behind and says "He's not lying, we just witnessed the whole thing. Was nerve gas released into the city..?" --
  32. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] With the female officer's voice as cold as her glare, she says "Nerve gas would've been too easy to deal with." Her tone makes it sound as if she were the one behind it all. She's quick to fire off two shots at the secretary, blowing a hole through the woman's shoulder and chest, to which the officer behind her reaches --
  33. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] for his weapon, but she's already turned and fired off two shots through his head. The civilian then begins walking towards the exit of the room as the female officer rushes off and begins killing off the others one by one in an abrupt manner. Though before she goes to finish her "job", she looks into the civilian's eyes, --
  34. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] who turns down the hall and seems to be wandering towards another hallway which will lead him to the exit. --
  35. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] Within a matter of minutes, everyone in the facility had been undone, but without a clear sign as to who had been behind it. The civilian walks in such a way that makes it look like he's wounded and desperate to leave, limping, holding his clearly bleeding arm, and is heaving with each step. A final loud bang rings out, --
  36. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] and then a second. The second shot whizzed right by the civilian's head as he got halfway down the hallway, it was from the officer who he had punched through the wall earlier. He was barely holding himself up, and he no longer had any of his protective gear on. --
  37. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] He seems to have just killed the female officer who finished her killing spree, a deep look of regret is on his face. He takes a shaky step forward, and then breaks into a sprint towards the civilian, who books it down the hallway and into a much larger room. The exit is nearby, but even at a running pace he would need --
  38. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] about ten seconds to get there. By the time he can even determine his chances of escape, the officer and civilian stare one another down. Through heavy breaths and a slowly dying body, the final officer says "God gave me a second chance at life, the uniform I was wearing had gear that was much higher in grade.. You son of a --
  39. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] bitch, I don't know how you're doing this, but I've got an idea." He aims his gun right at the civilian, whose body was engulfed in a red mist, with his features rapidly shifting. --
  40. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] "My eyes were covered! You control people through eye contact, don't you?! It's as clear as day, you stay right where you are, you're powerless when I have my eyes protected. I'm going to avenge everyone here, no longer are these supernatural threats going to walk all over us. At the end of the day, even without these --
  41. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] wonderful heroes we have, we're still this city's main line of defense! If I see you move at all, I'm opening fire!" He continues to face the civilian, huffing harshly as he backs up towards the desk that's in the room where calls would be received. He goes to quickly hit a button under the desk that would alert other nearby --
  42. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] stations in the city that this one was under attack, but his hand suddenly froze up. His pupils dilate as feels his arms lock up, and soon his legs, until his body from the neck down had come to a stop. --
  43. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] With mist flowing off his body, the civilian walks over towards the officer- walking right around him with the mist trailing behind him almost elegantly. The arm of his Stand smashes through the officer's unprotected chest. "I commend you for your effort, so I'll give you a gift before you die." --
  44. CFD: My Stand, Saul, allows me to take over others and change their fates to fit my needs. When I looked into the eyes of your comrades, I was "them" for a short time, and made them do my bidding. After I've left their body, it takes ten seconds for the effects of my ability to wear off. But during that time... You
  45. CFD: are nothing more than fated to die.
  46. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] The officer, gritting his teeth and struggling to cling to life. "But my eyes were protected.. How the f. Fuck could you have taken me over?" To which the man responds coldly. --
  47. CFD: God may have shined his light on you for long enough to extend your life by a few minutes. But you should have pushed your shades a little closer to your eyes.
  48. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] "I had seen the edge of your right eye through the reflection of the computer screen behind the desk." The officer's eyes had begun fading as the man pulled the arm of his stand out the man's chest. He then narrows his glance at the button right under the desk. "I stopped him, I'm sure of it." The man was soon to learn --
  49. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] this hadn't been the case, the officer who's now laid on the ground and fading away from this world speaks his last words. "I had a feeling you'd try and stop me.. Hah.. I had already hit the buzzer in the secretary's room when you punched me through the wall." With a grin on his face, he stares up at the enraged man, whose --
  50. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] identity was now clear as day- eye to eye. --
  51. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] The officer only got to see the man's identity for just a second before he was killed. The red mist flowing off his body obscured most of it, but all that could be told was that he had a light brownish tone to his skin. He walks over to the side of the room opposite to where he entered in through the hallway and steps --
  52. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] into the first room. Through the window he'd glance across the street- the mist attracts the attention of a citizen who was running nearby. All it took was that slight moment of curiousity for him to effectively escape. His presence vanishing and now contained within the body of the running citizen. He quickly heads into a --
  53. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] nearby building and heads to the top of it, abandoning the fresh body he had just taken over as he rushed to the top and looked down. The person he had taken control over was now running away from the scene just as he was already doing before. --
  54. CFD: Though that unfortunate day happened through a few misunderstandings... It falls in line with a rule of the laws. "Ignorance of the law does not excuse breaking it." Ignorance of the situation does not excuse your actions made out of panic.
  55. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] He rubs at the scars on his body as he glances down at the dozens of cruisers that had rushed to the police station down below, quickly rushing in with an armed force equivalent to a maxed-out SWAT team, but they were already too late. --
  56. CFD: Survival of the fittest... It's too simple to follow. If you're strong, you will prevail. If you're weak, you will be undone by somebody stronger than you. I am no longer that weak individual, and I won't stop until I've had my revenge and restored the natural balance of man and his actions.
  57. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] With that, he descends into the building he's entered, heads to the bottom floor, and begins running along with several other people who had been running by the building in a panic. The time was now 6:00PM, and the unnamed man had already blended back in with the crowds; lost from the eyes of the law, but not from their --
  58. -- CURRENT fatedDetachment [CFD] minds. --
