  1. "The House Grigorios is a house burdened with a dark purpose- atonement for the past. The exact method has been lost, the records destroyed by the marching grindstone of time, but we do know what the end result was: the ancestral home of the Grigorios family plays host to a crawling, imperious darkness. A god of their own creation, somehow actualized completely independantly of the common belief, that feeds off of the Grigorios family like a leech, glutting it's stygian appitites through the family. In simpler terms: on the night of the current heir to the family's 23rd birthday, they are visited by the creeping horror beneath their house, in a dream. The details of the dream vary from heir to heir, but all records indicate that each heir receives the same damning choice. They are given two options, each unpalatable in their unique, gut-twisting way. The first: offer twenty three people in sacrifice to the ancient evil beneath the house. The second: offer yourself, and allow the creature to feed off of you. From that day forward, the heir is damned. Their life goes awry in every possible way- children fall ill, homes and apartments are destroyed, and indeed the very bodies of the heirs themselves seem to decay. Their eyes sink, their hair grows brittle and matted. Some attempt to end their own lives, only to find that they are unable to do even this, as the entity over which the family maintains constant vigil stays their death until the last possible moment, until after it has bled them dry. What the entity would do if left un-sated is unclear, but suggesting that the Grigorios heir simply ignore the creature is met with subtle grimaces at best and deranged cackling at worst.

  3. One supposes that it speaks to an uncharacteristically high moral mettle that nobody in the Grigorios family has taken the first option in almost 70 years."
