  1. Cinder woke up sitting in a chair at the old dormitory of Beacon. Something was wrong and she could feel it, but a strange feeling tugged at her psyche, almost able to convince herself that it was right when it wasn’t. She got up and stumbled around, a slight pain emanating from her head. She raised a hand to brace it, and pulled it away just as quickly when she saw the sleeve on her arm. It looked familiar, like she had seen it somewhere before. Somewhere before the fall of Beacon. When she began to think more on it, a sound came from outside the door. A young man’s voice echoed through the hall. He opened the door and walked in. “Oh, Pyrrha, you’re awake. I guess all that training this afternoon wore you out”, he said. “Wh-what?” said Cinder. Jaune looked at her with a smile. “Don’t you remember, Pyrrha? You were showing me how to hold a sword and I must’ve slipped the handle at your head.” Cinder examined her clothes further and realized she was wearing the same outfit that young girl had worn with the spear and shield. “Why do you keep calling me Pyrrha? I’m not-“ Jaune cut her off before she could finish. “Yes, you are. You of all people should know, it’s what’s inside a person that counts. And with a little help from me, I can bring out the BEST part of you, Pyrrha” he said. Jaune helped Cinder to the door and tugged her arm along. “Now the best way to remind you is some familiar sights. These are our dorm rooms, down the hall is the library where you helped me study, and out there is the training grounds”. Cinder stopped in her tracks and held her head for a moment. The pain was rushing to the front and she could see vague memories of a fight on a rooftop. A bow and arrow. A flash of fire and then ash. She came back to reality with a frightened look on her face. Jaune was staring at her intently. “It’s alright. You are Pyrrha. And I know you are feeling scared, but don’t worry. Everything is going to be fine.” Cinder looked around, frantic and sweating. “No, this isn’t right” she said. “How is this happening? I should be destroying you and Ozpin and this whole school!”. Jaune’s smile dropped and his body shifted to the side. “I see now. You need some more convincing” he said. Jaune grabbed her arm again, this time more aggressively than before. He dragged her down the hall and led her to a dark room near the sparring hall. Cinder wanted to fight back but part of her almost believed that she was Pyrrha, the girl she had slain weeks before. Jaune tossed her into the room and leaned back to lock the door behind them. The latch clicked shut and the silence in the room was haunting besides their breath. “You’re confused again, Pyrrha. But I will help you. I’m going to rid you of that evil Cinder for good”. He slowly walked towards her in the dark, something dragging beside him made of wood. The object scraped on the floor as he got closer and closer. With a sharp scratch of sound, the air carried the force swiftly and up to her. A loud smack to her face sent Cinder reeling to the ground. “Wait!”, she screamed. “What’s going on?! Why are you doing this?”. Jaune was silent except for the swings of the wooden sword he held onto, each blow breaking her skin and pulling forth blood. “I told you…I’m going to help you Pyrrha..you’re very sick…and I need to cleanse you..”. She cried out with each strike, wandering in the dark to find somewhere to hide but to no avail. “Please! I’m sorry! I’m sorry Jaune I’m so sorry!” Jaune hit her face again and again until he could smell her blood splatter to the floor. Then he let the sword fall to the cold floor and reached in to caress her face. “There..RIGHT there..that’s the Pyrrha I know..” And in a moment, she felt his hand on her face and it felt right. She was wrong to doubt these feelings of longing and desire. She spoke, with quite a fainter tone than before. “I’m sorry Jaune”, she said. “You were right. I’m happy for how well I’ve trained you. Thank you for helping me”. Jaune smiled with dead eyes. “Of course, Pyrrha. You know I’ll do anything for YOU”.
