[22:37:56] Rieta stares at the cleric (not Marcus, much much older and presumably more experienced) in utter shock and disbelief. Her mouth hangs open, her tail lashes, and her amber eyes are roughtly the size of dinner plates. After a moment of stunned silence she finally deigned to explode, "WHAT IN THE HELLS DO YOU MEAN I'M PREGNANT?!?!"
[22:39:02] <Marcus> There's a loud /thump/ from somewhere else in the building. Possibly the sound of a twentysomething Cleric jumping so high he hit the ceiling. Rapid footsteps approach, and Marcus bursts trhough the door. "YOU WHATNOW!?'
[22:39:58] <Rieta> "HE SAYS I'M PREGNANT!" Rieta practically screams pointing at the now wincing cleric.
[22:40:39] <Marcus> "YOU!" Marcus grabs the other cleric by the collar. "YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. THE CARDNAL'S PULLING ANOTHER TRICK, ISN'T HE!?"
[22:42:48] <Rieta> "No... no he isn't..." The cleric replies calmly as Rieta's face cycles between terror and rage, "And I assure you Marcus I am thoroughly aware of what I speak your... consort... is pregnant. The symptoms fit."
[22:42:56] Rieta splutters at the word consort
[22:43:54] Marcus 's expression suddenly hardens. "Consort?" he's silent for a while. He begins to move, as if considering punching the other cleric. He reins himself in, simply shoving the man roughly. "She has a name."
[22:46:10] <Rieta> The man stumbles backward, but keeps his feet straightening his clothing, "If you insist. Rieta, is pregnant, as I said the symptoms fit. Fatigue, mood swings, nausea, vomiting, she is likely pregnant."
[22:49:43] Marcus rubs his eyes. "So she's... I... what should I do?"
[22:51:58] <Rieta> "Well if you plan to keep the child you probably out to look into permanent residence and the necessary accoutrements," The cleric replies a bit sourly, "Frankly I'd look into getting rid of it."
[22:52:19] Rieta looks seconds away from a killing spree if her face is any indication
[22:52:49] Marcus blinks. "You... you what?" His expression settles into a glare. "You want me to... to 'get rid' of /my/ /child/? What, is it going to be 'deformed'?" he spits sarcastically.
[22:54:20] <Rieta> "I don't know about you but generally in my experience humans aren't supposed to have horns and tails," the cleric replies, voice dripping with sarcasm.
[22:55:02] <Rieta> "That's it! I'm going to kill him! I'll beat his face in on his own desk!" Rieta looks like she's going to do just that.
[22:55:14] <Marcus> "No no Rieta, don't."
[22:55:19] <Marcus> " /I'll/ kill him."
[22:56:09] <Rieta> "You do realize the church will have something to say about that don't you?" The cleric says with a nasty glare.
[22:56:20] Marcus glares at the other cleric. "I know Templars of the Silver Flame aren't supposed to get into brawls, but I'm not a very good Templar, am I? You have five seconds."
[22:57:33] <Rieta> "You're treading on thin ice boy," The cleric snarls before leaving the room shooting both of the two a nasty grin.
[22:58:34] <Marcus> "I'll kill him. I'll go find Victor, we'll stick a sack over his head while he sleeps and the two of us will beat him with sticks in the night. Just like we did when we were kids." A pause. "I had an interesting childhood."
[22:59:58] <Rieta> "I can tell..." Rieta leans against the wall with a sigh, "What are we going to do? I didn't plan on this..."
[23:01:06] Marcus stands next to Rieta and wraps an arm around her shoulders. "I'm sorry. This is my fault. I should've known it wasn't the time to... go at it."
[23:02:53] <Rieta> "Don't be an idiot. I certainly wasn't objecting then... and I'm not sure I would now. Doesn't matter now, we need to figure out what we're going to do about it."
[23:04:50] Marcus sighs. "I wish I could help more. I know just as much about what to do as you do. Will there be... problems? I mean, because you're a tiefling and I'm not?"
[23:06:55] <Rieta> "Our child will be a tiefling... other than that," Rieta shrugs, "I don't know a whole lot about tiefling pregnancies but I do know we can breed safely with just about anyone a normal human can."
[23:09:52] Marcus is silent for a little while. "I'm... I don't know how I can help. I really wish I did, Rieta."
[23:10:35] <Rieta> "You'll stay with me right? Even though our child won't be... human?"
[23:11:11] Marcus hugs Rieta. "How can you ask me that? It's our child. Of course I'll stay. Don't be ridiculous."
[23:13:51] Rieta draws herself closer to Marcus, "Sorry... I'm just a little paranoid I guess. And... scared... pregnancy isn't... well... safe.

[23:14:48] Marcus hugs Rieta tighter, trying to reassure her. "Rieta, I'm a cleric. It'll be as safe as it gets. Trust me, I've even done it before. Not exactly glamorous being a male midwife, but it has its advantages."
[23:16:05] Rieta smiles, "Thanks Marcus, just look on the bright side. You get to deliver your own child."
[23:17:08] Marcus smiles back. "That's right. Unfortunately it'll be a terribly ugly specimen - it's mine."
[23:19:09] <Rieta> Rieta is about to protest his self-deprecation before the room door opens again and an absolutely ancient cleric hobbles in, "What's this then? No fornication in public areas children it's very embarrassing," hard to tell whether he's joking or not really...
[23:19:41] <Marcus> "... Please go decompose somewhere else," Marcus groans.
[23:21:55] <Rieta> "Mind your manners you insolent whipper-snapper!" The cleric snaps... sort of... he's too old to really snap, "When I was your age when we disrespected our elders we were paddled! With spiked clubs. And the spikes were rusty! Anyway... what was I here for? ...Oh yes, your diagnosis child."
[23:22:32] Rieta gives the cleric a bewildered look, she was pregnant right?
