Regarding this particular assignment, if you do recall on Monday I stayed after class and discussed precisely this with you for about 10 minutes, making absolutely sure that today was the deadline for the presentation (which seemed soon to me). However I accept that I misunderstood our conversation from Monday.

Next, I realize that bringing a laptop and using it throughout the class can be distracting at times. However, I am certainly not the only person using a laptop during the class, yet it seems that I am the only person who is consistently attacked for doing so. If my bringing a laptop is disrespectful then I believe the same line should be set for all others who bring a laptop. I have been bringing a laptop to every CS class in the 4 years that I have been here, and this is the first class in which it has been an issue. My method of studying and paying attention in class has been working for me since freshman year of high school, and I have 4.0'd every class since then.

I am aware that class participation is more than just physically being present, however I know I have contributed more than half of the class, simply by responding when called upon.  Essentially, this reasoning precludes anyone who didn't raise their hand from receiving any participation grade. I have been to every class for which I was in town, and I hope that counts for at least something in participation, in comparison to those who do not attend class at all.

I clearly have the work ethic devoted to this class, which is proven just by completing the entire presentation with one day between classes. Also, I have done well on the homework assignments and have devoted a great amount of time to the project as well. My only fault regarding this class, admittedly, is that I do not pay enough attention during lecture, and I apologize for that.
