- I am going to try to beat Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories every day for a month. The challenge started May 24 and will end June 22, right before I leave for SGDQ. Most days I'll be following the standard speedrun race route (THTD strats), but on occasion I'll be trying a slower but more fun route, like female%. If I get really good luck at the start of an attempt, I'll try to beat world record (3:12 by A3r1us), then go back to farming and beat the game normally if I fail. I will not use RNG manipulation.
- I think this will be worthwhile for several reasons:
- - FM is really fun when played this way, as opposed to grinding for WR, which is reset heavy
- - One of my goals last year was to "get good at FM," and this is a great way to do it
- - I'll be streaming every day, which is entertaining for me and my viewers
- - I'll have to stick to a routine, which is something I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to add to my life this year
- - Unlike nearly every other video game, FM is not easy to beat once you know the mechanics. This is largely because of pure luck, but the game's high skill ceiling still gives you some control over your time. Trying to beat it in 3 hours is a dumb grind, but beating it in a single day can be done while feeling like a challenge.

- - Average THTD run was 8:21
- - Average deck had 14.6/10.4/3.2/2.1/1.0/0.3/0.6/0.3
- - "Fastest average completion" in FM basically comes down to your stamina for Pegasus A-TECs. It's very rarely optimal to farm anywhere else once you have a usable deck (8-9 dragons, 1 trap), but if you're running the game frequently, you realistically need a break. You also can learn more about the game by farming others, which will help you in the long run.
- - Long Rex farms are OK as long as your deck has garbage
- - Buying dragons until you have 3-4 for tournament is almost always optimal
- - Removing Umis for Ocean Mage might not be worth it. If the Umis are replacing good cards, your deck is good enough to allow useless ones
