- NOTE: saned intentionally refuses to share scanners using the net: backend. You can see which backend your scanner uses by looking at the output of "scanimage -L". If for some reason you need saned to share a network scanner (ex: to make it available to Windows via SaneTWAIN), you will need to patch the source code of saned as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1632183.
