- Alliance
- Human
- The noble humans of Stormwind are a proud, tenacious race. Though the recent invasion of the demonic Burning Legion decimated their sister kingdom of Lordaeron, the defenders of Stormwind stand vigilant against any who would threaten the sanctity of their lands. Nestled in the foothills of Elwynn Forest, Stormwind City is one of the last bastions of human power in the world. Emboldened by the return of their heroic king, Varian Wrynn, the proud humans of Stormwind led the Alliance to victory in its war against the dreaded Lich King. While successful, the campaign in Northrend proved costly and the humans now seek to bolster their strategic holdings through out the world. Under Varian's daring leadership, humanity now braces itself for a renewed conflict with its perennial enemy, the Horde.
- Dwarf
- Bold and adventurous, the dwarves of Ironforge are a hardy people who relish battle and exploration. Recently, records surfaced of a god-like race, known as the Titans, said to have given the dwarves life, fueling their desire for exploration and archaeology as they seek to unearth the mysteries of their progenitors. Yet, many struggles have come upon the lands of the dwarves. Their king transformed into a crystalline statue and his estranged daughter, Moira, arriving to claim the throne for her and infant Dark Iron son. With political upheaval arriving in the kingdom and the lands around them shaped by the Cataclysm, the future of Khaz Modan is left to the newest generation of dwarves.
- Gnome
- Friends of the dwarves, the eccentric yet brilliant gnomes are held as one of Azeroth's most peculiar races. With their obsession for developing radical new technologies and constructing mind-bending marvels of engineering, it's a surprise to most that the race has survived to proliferate. Although they are considered a great ally to the Alliance, the gnomes of Gnomeregan have suffered many losses. Their techno-city was lost to crazed lepers of their own kind and the malicious troggs. While reclamation efforts have tied them up in a war among their own people and their numbers have been to a mere fraction, the gnomes are still willing to give a helping hand to the Alliance whenever possible.
- High Elf (Quel'dorei)
- The remnants of the remnants of a fallen race. A mere fraction of their old people, they have been split off from their allies after a political difference between them and the newly-christened blood elves. These elves, splintered off from the Sin'dorei, still remain loyal to the Alliance or Dalaran, the one neutral human city. Many distrust them due to their Horde-aligned brethren and their sheer rarity making them all but extinct in the minds of most. Nowadays, many of them remain in Khaz Modan or hold out in the Eastern Plaguelands, hoping one day to reunite with their people now that Kael'thas is dead.
- Night elf (Kaldorei)
- Ten thousand years ago, the night elves founded a vast empire, but their reckless use of primal magic brought them to ruin. In grief, they withdrew to the forests and remained isolated there until the return of their ancient enemy, the Burning Legion. With no other choice, the night elves emerged at last from their seclusion to fight for their place in the new world. Yet, as the Great Cataclysm shook the boughs of their colossal tree, the night elves began to brace themselves against the coming storm. Now, as war and destruction close in from all sides, is falls to the next generaton of night elves to stand strong and protect the enduring legacy of their people.
- Draenei
- Empowered by the Naaru and the undying strength of their convictions, the draenei led the charge against the demonic Burning Legion in Outland. Now, with the Legion's defeat, they have completed the desperate mission that first brought them to Azeroth. Though some draenei were sent back to Outland to revitalize their former civilization, the majority have vowed to stay and uphold their sacred commitment to the Alliance. Driven by a powerful vision, the immortal prophet Velen believes that a great war between the Darkness and the Light is fast approaching and that Azeroth will be its principal battleground. As Velen's chosen, many young fresh-faced draenei must stand bravely against the Shadow to ensure that their people are ready for the war to come.
- Broken Ones (Krokul)
- The result of the draenei's exposure to the powerful fel energies and orc warlocks that ravaged Draenor before its destruction, the krokul physically deteroriated and mutated into strange abominations that lost their connections to the Naaru and their once heroic convictions. Although many of them have returned into what the draenei call savages, many others have turned to serving their pure kin. When the orcs abandoned shamanism, the krokul answered the plea of the elements and shared their wisdom to their kin, granting them the gift of shamanism. Few still remain in the Alliance, having either retreated from the crumbling lands of the Outlands to help their kind start a new home or merely to seek out their own destiny.
- Worgen
- The worgen were first unleashed upon the Eastern Kingdoms by Archmage Arugal during the Third War. Primarily used as a weapon against the Scourge, the beasts soon proved to be a burden greater than the humans of Lordaeron could bear. A mysterious curse began to spread among those who fought alongside the wolf-men, causing them to become worgen themselves. The curse rapidly spread as it reached Gilneas, trapping its inhabitants behind the very walls built to protect them. With the help of the night elves, the survivors of the curse now seek to find a new fate for their people, their destiny unwritten.
- Furbolg
- A hulking, simple-minded race of bear-men who live in the lands of the night elves. The night elves concerned by the once peaceful race's condition have attempted to help the furbolgs settle their tensions, but the mighty bear-men retreat ever further into their territories. Though they have no special love for war or murder, their tribes have become increasingly hostile as of late, many tribes have fallen to multiple forms of corruption, including but not limited to the corruptions of the Burning Legion, the Old Gods and the Primalists. Some tribes and individuals aren't hostile and are tolerant of outsiders, with tribes such as the Timbermaw, Stillpine, and Longclaw. These few survivors of the corruption help their ancestral allies whenever they can, although many are still stuck battling the corruption taking over their kin.
