  1. "Lets get serious!"
  2.
  3. His war cry as he'd call upon his mana to his arm. Getting this far in his development he had not only learned where to derive his Fire and Wind mana pools from, emotion wise. He had also learned some baby steps toward the now known 'Ifrit Claw'. And you'd see a novice version of this displayed now.
  4.
  5. "And this-- this is the problem."
  6.
  7. What was it? Well the Ifrit claw was suppose to be a put together gauntlet of concentrated wind and Fire mass. What you saw? This wild funnel like creation that sure it was around his arm-- and maybe sorta at the right angle was a Gauntlet.
  8.
  9. But it was -8 feet- long, compared tot he standard agile version.
  10.
  11. "Yea...."
  12. (Jin)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [13:29] Yes, Amalka would see the problem that looms out before her.
  16.
  17. She has to bend herself all the way backwards, at practically a ninety-degree angle, and she would properly see the looming mass.
  18.
  19. Despite the darkness, she at-least sees the wind and fire swirling around each other!
  20.
  21. "Wow-- you learned to cast both trees properly since I was away, it seems!" She talks to the bald man past the deluge of magic.
  22.
  23. "Since you managed that much at first, I'm sure this is a problem we can help modify. Somehow..."
  24.
  25. She puts a finger to her chin. Amalka must help fulfill her IOU to the best of her abilities, but this is not quite her specialty.
  26.
  27. "Hmm. What if you try diffusing the magic into both arms?"
  28. (Amalka Tval)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [13:33] Dothal Adara asks, "Sugarboy are you free?"
  32. [13:33] Amalka Tval says, "I mean-- he's being blasted by magic it appears."
  33. [13:33] Dothal Adara says, "Oh, hello Amalka."
  34. [13:33] Amalka Tval says, "Hi."
  35. [13:34] Sugarboy says, "Yeah that's just going to keep going on"
  36. [13:34] Sugarboy asks, "What's up, Dot?"
  37. [13:34] Sugarboy says, "Cluck"
  38. [13:34] Dothal Adara whispers something.
  39. [13:34] "Yah know, lets try that out."
  40.
  41. Made some sense, if he separated the 8 foot damn thing, 4 feet, in both-- hands. Thinking it out himself as he'd give it a go. Trying to then focus the magic unto his other arm. And it sorta worked.
  42.
  43. Sorta.
  44.
  45. He now had 4 feet of this tunnel like creation of fire and wind in his left arm. and he'd now have one for his right arm.
  46.
  47. Problem? Of course there was a problem. The condescending. It was the same 8 feet creation, just in 2 smaller version. Sure a step in the right direction of a more agile usage, but they still looked pretty wild and unstable.
  48.
  49. "Dammit. I still cant--" Pausing a bit to dodge the flames and amber that kicked up into his eyes, "I need them like-- smaller? More gauntlet-- like?"
  50. (Jin)
  51.
  52. "Hm, good. The problem seems to be consistent."
  53.
  54. Amalka was a little surprised, but not really. She wracks her brain about some more, to be the best 'ideas' guy on the market.
  55.
  56. It is a bit difficult, when every magi seems to have different 'inner workings!'
  57.
  58. (She could suggest making them into two feet by diffusing the gauntlet into his legs-- but nah.)
  59.
  60. "Since your gauntlet looks more like wild, flying magic: is there a way for you to 'condense' that wind and fire that you're summoning? Or do something to solidify it?"
  61. (Amalka Tval)
  62.
  63. "Uh-- Hmmm."
  64.
  65. He didn't think of a -solidifying- it. but his only form of that he could think of was... Putting it -closer- to his body. Eyeing his arms, but moreso tentacles than gauntlets at this point being loss of focus. He'd get back on track and attempt to draw them -closer-
  66.
  67. ".....!"
  68.
  69. So once again, a step in the right direction, as he'd get smaller version of the funnels. Still not really gauntlets, but they were at least smaller and resembled the size of a standard Ifrit claw. But...
  70.
  71. "Hot! Hot! Hot!"
  72.
  73. The man would begin to run in circles as he'd be waving his arms around. The problem that had occurred was sure he made them more condensed, but his own fire had gotten so potent that it began ot burn his own arms! Starting too burn through his gloves actually.
  74.
  75. Too interested in getting toward his goal to put out the fire so he'd just run in these circles making enough wind too cool his arms down waiting for more suggestions from Amalka
  76. (Jin)
  77.
  78. Amalka springs in to help, at least. Two palms reach out in front of each other to help put out the flames on his clothes, and perhaps would help soothe the burns on his skin. Amalka is a full-time healer, after all!
  79.
  80. She would think, and think. "Instead of condensing the fire: if only there was some way to diffuse your powerful magic..."
  81.
  82. (It was such a conundrum, that she didn't even notice Sugarlad as an array of animals! How funny it must have looked.)
  83.
  84. "Even if the condensed fire is too hot... is there a way to make your wind magic push the fire /outward,/ so that it won't burn you?"
  85. (Amalka Tval)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [13:59] "Whew... Thanks." He could have just stopped the mana flow to put the fire out. but he was too damned prideful to do that. He'd submit though as the fires got oo out of hand with Amalka stepping in and soothing the pain. Whew, gloves were still good.
  89.
  90. "So I gatta -- push and pull... Both of them? Here goes." A bit hesitant as he didn't want to burn himself all over again, but he'd eventually be back on the saddle.
  91.
  92. Taking experience into mind, he'd engulf his forearms in wind first. -Then- he'd do the Fire, just a bit at a time until it filled his arms. The key here, taking some guidance from the the ice warrior he meant earlier, not fighting the fires flow, just guiding it...
  93.
  94. And you'd soon see the end product of what wasn't too bad. 2 of his arms engulfed in smaller tunnels, this time more his arm length at 3 feet each. both with Fire spiraling around them. They surely weren't Gauntlets, but atleast he had gotten the general size and balance right
  95.
  96. "Hey! he- I think I'm doin it!" He'd raise his arms in the sky in excitement.
  97.
  98. The break in focus would lead to both arms going extinguished.
  99.
  100. "Wha?! Dammit!!" Well. Still pretty good though, he was on the right track.
  101. (Jin)
  102. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  103.
  104. [14:06] Amalka watches with the calm, neutral expression of a middle-aged teacher. Even so, the twisting of more-compact, yet heated masses of magic would make her smile.
  105.
  106. Her hands come together with a clap, and she inadvertently draws in a small breath.
  107.
  108. "Mmm-- Jin. Do you know anyone else that uses gauntlets? Or a blacksmith that builds gauntlets? They may be able to give you good ideas on how to properly 'build' your magic into a gloved form."
  109.
  110. She looks around now, but it's a quiet night tonight!
  111. (Amalka Tval)
  112. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  113.
  114. [14:09] "Hmmm...….Yes!"
  115.
  116. Pretty much out of mana at this point after fluxing it around so much, he'd have his attention all diverted to amalka. With a bit of pondering, he would indeed thing of someone.
  117.
  118. "I know just the person!" And in a rush he was already headed to Town square as happy as could be he had gotten this far in his training.
  119.
  120. He forgot to say Thank you and goodbye. But perhaps it was thank you enough to see that smile on his face as he exited
  121. (Jin)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [14:10] Jin may not be able to see it, but Amalka pumps her own fist to the sky! Small victories are made today.
  125. (Amalka Tval)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [14:10] Amalka Tval says, "Hmm. And just in case, I do know blacksmiths in Levengard."
  129. [14:10] Jin exclaims, "Gotcha!"
