I’d 100% be down for a partnership but I will not hand over control to Venatus
There are some core issues I have with what I’ve been shown about the Venatus philosophy thus far
That being said
I think Venatus plays an important role in the community and I think most people in it have good intentions
But if I were to sit here and pretend some of my disagreements with Venatus had zero part in motivating me to run this thing, I’d be lying to you
And I have no intention of doing that

I disagree with that motive, but I take all the help I can get
And it’s why I speak for the MCL and he does not
There were a couple motivations
1) content to keep teams involved in the scene
2) Triternion can’t make our ruleset
3) Venatus isn’t transparent about their plans for the future and neither is Triternion
4) I was good friends with Dopamine Bandit and his permanent ban without appeal really hurt so I wanted to give him a way to play
5) One of my friends bet me that I couldn’t do it
6) I watch a lot of the OWL and was inspired to do something equivalent in Mordhau
OWL = Overwatch League
The main grievance I have with Venatus currently is that everyone I’ve talked to wants to turn a profit as soon as humanly possible no matter the cost.  I don’t think the game is at a point yet where anyone should be making money which is why myself and the entirety of the MCL staff do this voluntarily.  The game needs an actual competitive game mode, better spectator tools, a backend API for stat collection and anticheat, and a ranked ladder before it’ll be ready for any sort of Esports offering.
