- Mechanical Designer
- We are looking for a motivated designer to join our Engineering team. The team works with several fabrication shops to produce standard modular equipment, and various versions of custom separation modules. Engineering works closely with Salespeople and end users to custom design modules, tailored to a plant's specific needs. The candidate will work with a wide variety of disciplines to integrate electrical, mechanical, assembly, shipping and maintenance requirements into modular equipment.
- The project areas will vary from manufacturing, waste treatment, environmental, food waste, biofuels, and other recycling or waste reclamation and mitigation.

- " Perform engineering calculations including volume, velocity.
- " Evaluate available space and design modular equipment to be installed within constraints
- " Model/simulate designs to minimize iterations and optimize fabrication and assembly
- " Conceptual design, structural layout, sizing, and detail design
- " Highly self-motivated, resourceful individual who works well with limited supervision and has good attention to detail
- " Strong hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Duties
- " Under supervision, develops complete layout and engineering drawings of a variety of components and assemblies such as schematics, interconnect lists and parts breakdown from notes, rough sketches or general instructions of engineers and designers.
- " Will need to create, and modify detailed drawings using 3D CAD (Solidworks or AutoCAD 360) software provided by engineering.
- " Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
- " Determines scaling, inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations and sectioning.
- " Contributes to company library of standard objects and equipment
- " Field measure equipment and piping
- " Ensure material and fabrication specifications meet customer requirements.
- " Draft accurate as-built equipment drawings in an efficient manner
- " Coordinate plans, details and specifications with other vendors.
- " Checking drawings previously completed by the company, or supplied by vendors
- " A good understanding of structural steel and industrial piping fabrication
- " Produce accurate 2-D drawings
- " Obtain and assemble data to complete CAD designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
- " Participate as a team member in the technical development of schematic, design development, construction documents, specifications and construction administration for institutional and commercial building projects.
- " Communicate and coordinate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc. throughout the design phases of the project.
- " Identify and document critical parameters and critical specifications for a subsystem or assembly

- Requirements
- " Possess a strong desire to learn
- " A strong understanding of the theory and practical application of mechanical systems, structure, piping, and hydraulics
- " Must be able to accurately estimate time required to complete drawings and revisions
- " Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- " Capable of attending and engaging in meetings with clients, owners, contractors, etc. in a positive and productive manner.
- " Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- " Efficient, and skilled in the used of AutoCAD
- " Efficient and skilled in the use of 3D Modeling software, specifically Solidworks and AutoCAD 360
- " Must be self-motivated, a team player and detail oriented.
- Education/Experience
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Relevant Technical Drawing certifications
- 1-5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer
- 10-15 years as a Mechanical Designer/Drafter
