Wendi-chan's First Date

>Wendi-chans first date
>goes to Selkies diner
>gets free desert for the date
>now she won’t stop bringing anon to the diner after school for free cake and pie
>Selkie-san just sighs as her husband laughs and brings out another cake for Wendi-chan and her new boyfriend

>"A-awawa... awawa... awawa... a-aawawa..."
>her date is silent, face beet red and nervous as he shifts in his seat across from her, while she just vibrates dumbfounded, not even touching her food
>Selkie-san has her face resting on her cheek as she stares at them
>"I don't think either of them has said an intelligible word since they came in here today."
>Husband gives a big belly laugh and pinches her on her rear
>"Reminds me of our first date! Though there was a lot more physical contact involved, I'll admit that!"
>Selkie half-playfully swats his hand away with a spatula before getting back to work

>Meanwhile, Yeti-chan and Yuki-chan spy in from the window
>"What're they sayin?! Did they make out yet?!"
>"Yeti, please! They'll hear us!"
>"Well I wanna know if they do so I can ask Wendi what it felt like!"
>"We musn't invade our friend's privacy, Yeti!"

>Meanwhile, a strapping lumberjack looking man and a nervous yet lovely looking woman in a makeshift dress eat at a corner booth
>The man is through his tenth beer but unfazed, while the woman nibbles nervously on a large helping of stretchy meat
>"What are they doing, papa? Has she given him her coat yet?"
>"Mama, you don't think she'd do that so soon, right? They're just talking! Everything's normal! Just talking. That's all they're doing! Talking! Nothing else! My little girl is just talking to the nice boy! That's all!"
>He sounds more like he's convincing himself than the woman with him

>The boy finally gulps heavily and speaks up, voice instantly cracking
>"THI- Ahem, t-this is nice, Wendi! D-do you like these da... dates?"
>"Awawa- aaawa, a- yes!"
>"O-oh! Good! D-do you think we can maybe... keep going... on dates?"
>"...yes, awawa"
>"O-okay! Lets have another one! Uh, next weekend! We can go to the movies!"
>"...okay, awawa... movie date, good, awawa..."

>Selkie-san slips her husband a five dollar bill, muttering 'well shit' as he grins and pumps his fist happily for the young anon while watching from the kitchen
>"If he weren't so young I'd send him over a beer!"

>"ANOTHER DATE?? THAT MEANS-"
>Yeti-chan practically tackles Yuki-chan to keep her from blurting out and blowing their cover
>"Now who's the loud one, Yuki?!"

>The lumberjack looking man in the corner is absolutely inhaling his twenty-first beer, disheveled yet smiling
>"Ahaha! Another date! Great! That's great for her! HIC oooooh my sweet little daddy's girl, going on dates, where did the time go?!"
>The curious woman across from him sighs, but also smiles warmly while turning back and whispering under her breath while looking at the young couple, who have relaxed a bit and are talking more openly now
>"Awa, good job Amka, good hunt~"

>goes downstairs that night to look at all of Wendi's old art on his meat freezer
>stares at her first crayon drawing, of her and her sisters and Mama and himself
>he's labelled with "Papa" and a cute little heart
>eventually gets over it, watches Wendi grow up into a fine young woman with a wonderful husband and gladly gave her away at their wedding
>(only after instructing her husband about all the intricacies of grilling
>Wendi eventually comes to visit again with her own daughter in tow, who hands him a piece of paper
>"Mommy said grawawa like drawings"
>it's a crayon drawing of the entire family, all three generations, and he's labelled with "Grandpapa"
