chapter 4

Ben walked through the halls of Lindon High wondering why everyone was whispering and somewhat avoiding his gaze. He also notice that the atmosphere of what was once a happy Lindon High change just after he was gone for a day. As usual, He went to his locker to meet up with Elise.

Ben; hey elise

Elise: oh hi ben, your better now!

ben: yeah i am, also, what’s up with everyone staring at me, oh no, do i have something on my face?!

elise: what no silly, do u really not know what happened?

ben: um no, aren’t u forgetting i wasn’t here yesterday?

elise: oh yah right

ben: so what happened?

suddenly the bell rang, it was time for class everyone stopped staring at ben and head on to their class.

elise: oh um i’ll tell u later, during lunch. bye

and with that she walked away heading to her first class.

As the day went on, Ben still kept wondering why everyone was either whispering whenever he passed by or went the other direction once they saw him walking pass their way.

It was finally time for lunch. Ben couldn’t wait to know what happened to finally get to the bottom on why everyone was being so weird around him. He looked around for elise and finally spotted her at where they usually sat and made his way over to his best friend.

Ben: Hey so can you tell me what happened now i mean everyone has been so weird

elise: So, uh well, a shooting happened here yesterday, when you were gone..

ben; WHAT? how did i not know about this?

elise: well you were out so..

ben:yeah, but what’s up with everyone looking at me like that

elise: umm..since you did call in sick yesterday, you were the only one who wasn’t here and…

ben: and???

elise: everyone else thinks you have something to do with the shooting..

ben: what? why would they think that someone like me, who is merely a high school student plus someone new here would do that?

elise: i don’t know either

ben: do think that too?

elise: uh um

Ben got what she was trying to say, his own best friend doubts him. He couldn’t believe it, the person he trusts the most in this school thinks he has something to do with the shooting that we only found out about today.

ben: well, i see, I’m off, thanks for letting me know

elise called out his name but it was too late, he walked away, ignoring her calls

The next day, Ben started his day as usual, he went to this locker but this time ignoring elise, his best friend. Ben was still hurt to know that his best friend thinks that he had something to do with the shooting.

Once he opened his locker, he found something weird that he didn’t own. Bullets.He was stoked to find them there. Why was there a zip lock full of bullets in his locker? People started surrounding him and his locker. Ben heard a lot of Oooo’s and gasps. Then he heard a familiar voice..

ben…?

it was elise.

ben:Oh my gosh, elise, thank God your here i don’t know, its not mine i swear its not, its not. i don’t know who put it in there

teacher: ben I’m gonna need you to come with me

ben: Ms. i swear its not mine, i don’t know who put it in there

student: then who did?

the question was still on Ben’s mind, who put the bullets in his locker? i don’t know he replied.

The school had no other choice but to make the proffesionals handle this issue. They brought ben to the police station to deal with this further. Elise came along with him to support het best friend

Ben: elise please believe me, i don’t own those. please

elise; ben i believe you

they arrive at the police station then ben is taken in with a officer for questioning.

Officer; Officer russel

ben; officer believe me i didn’t do it

officer: some part of me believes you, I’ve heard the story from your friend over there, but if i was to set you free and believe you, i just want you to tell me what did it?

That question still lingered in his head, who did it? who would want to frame him? who has a grudge against him? the suddenly a person popped in his head.

Alfred.

ben; alfred might have done it.

officer: alfred who???

Ben; alfred. he used to be my childhood best friend. He moved here first and we lost touch because of that, once i moved here i forgot about him, i saw him the other day, in all black. because to come to think of it, he’s the only person here that i know has a grudge against me..

officer ; interesting

ben: um maybe you could check the cameras to see if he was the one who framed me.

officer: sure, but everything we just discussed in here is kept between us, no one else expect your friend over there can know.

ben: sure thing, thank you officer russel

time went by and ben was still worried if he was correct on his theory, if he was why would what he once knew as his best friend do it? while his head and thoughts were getting to him, his phone rang. he looked to his side and it was officer russel

ben:hey officer any news?

officer: ben u might be right.

ben:you’ve checked the cctvs?

officer:yes, it was a man in a black hood who put the bullets into your locker.

ben: so it has been proven that it isn’t me who did it?

officer: well yes but i’m afraid that only i believe you, everyone here thinks you dressed up in a black hood and is framing alfred

ben: what no why would i

officer: well i say we get to the bottom of this the 3 of us including your friend elise

ben: yeah, she could help us

and that’s when they knew that ben was only being framed and it was his former best friend. Alfred. who did it...
