[+]  minjae is a perfectionist when it comes to performing, and wants to show only the best to his audience. he will not tolerate a single error or mistake made onstage, and works extremely hard to ensure that it doesn't happen. as he wants every performance to be perfect, he spends a lot of time helping his fellow groupmates who may be lacking in a certain part, or practicing to improve on a part he thinks isn't perfect yet.

[–]  minjae's perfectionism tends to lead to him overworking himself, to the point where he skips meals and sleep just to practice. this can get rather dangerous and hazardous to his health at times, and it's very hard to talk him out of it when he's overworking himself because he doesn't realize he's doing that.

✎ | BACKGROUND: minjae was born into a pretty wealthy family in seoul, south korea. since his parents were almost always at work, he had to look after his younger siblings and he became naturally protective over them. the family had to move to canada when minjae was seven due to his parents' jobs. they stayed there for about five years, and in those five years, minjae picked up english very quickly; both from mixing around with the locals and watching english tv shows and movies. when he was twelve, they moved back to south korea. he was already starting to write songs at that age, and his interest in music started growing rapidly. in november 2014, he was scouted by sm entertainment and trained there for three years before leaving the company for cube entertainment.
