  1. Characters:
  2.
  3. The God: An accursed creature, the sun god Majora is the last of his kind, having destroyed his brothers out of envy and rage. He is a child, who never grows up, and is mischievous and sometimes merciless. He prefers the company of other children, though finds fondness in the king he chose to rule his kingdom.
  4. The King: A man who was once a humble magician, the godling Majora plucked him out of the air. Nothing much is known about his past, but graciously accepted his position as king. He is a kind man, almost whimsical and very creative, though it is said that his seriousness and ferocity are legendary. Despite his children insisting he wear the colors of their god, he prefers a lighter pallet.
  5.
  6. The Princess: A beautiful girl, Princess Zelda comes from a far off land. She was given the role of princess by the god once she cast aside her old land, and was instilled beside her brother to take the throne. Cold and cruel, her hand stretches far across the kingdom, and her name is only uttered in fearful reverence.
  7.
  8. The Prince: A firm and cold creature, Prince Link comes from the same land as Zelda, bearing similar cold and undying beauty. And while he is distant from his people, they still fear his skills and mischievous grin. They say that his long ears are to hear, and tell, the voice of the godling that gave them their position under the oh so righteous king.
  9.
  10. The Warrior: Another accursed creature, tied to the palace and coming from nowhere, Oreo (the name given to him by the devil himself) follows the bidding of the king, and, to an extent, the Princess. His grin is similar to that of the young prince, and there is speculation that they are related. The rumors may or may not be true, but the people fear him as they fear their bloodline.
  11.
  12. The Executioner: Tall, pale and silent, the Phantom is a creature who is, once again, similar to the Prince. While the other two are quite strange in nature, he is calm and silent, wielding the sword and following the direction his prince and princess point him in, taking out lives. It is said he is the spirit of a long forgotten warrior, who no longer has a will of his own, despite the wish that he could take back the actions he has done since death.
  13.
  14. The Devil: This creature is not the enemy, nor is he an ally of the god. The Man-eater devil has existed beyond time, and finds rivalry with the king himself, taking joy in turning to his human form and running rampant around the kingdom, causing mischief. At one time, they say his form was that of a great and powerful dragon, until a certain man brought him low.
  15.
  16. The Imp: A nuisance to the King, the imp Majjy runs around the kingdom at the bidding of himself. While not as powerful as the Man Eater, he most certainly is a force to be reckoned with—wrathful and childlike, his destruction is great. Often times, instead of sending Oreo to dispatch him, the king will rise and dispatch the creature himself.
  17.
  18. The Advisor: The advisor is a pleasant man who carries a fiddle. Childlike and strange, Fado takes the place of advisor to the side of the Princess, calming her. He, like the Prince, has the same long ears and speaks the words of the godling to the people. While he seems to be the most peaceful and kind of the court, do not be fooled, for he is very catlike in his demeanor, and very instrumental in the reach of her highness.
  19.
  20. The Knight: Wielding a terrible sword and having escaped the rule of one previous, terrible master, the godling chooses Blackberry to serve the king. While he is the size of a child, he carries terrible wrath and will do anything to climb forward, and will do almost anything to defy the will of those that would take the kingdom from their hands.
  21.
  22. The Squire: Following the Knight is the squire that the godling chose, Blackcurrant is as strong and stubborn as his big brother, and more loyal. He swears his alleigeince to the advisor Fado, and sits with him as he plays his fiddle. He is yet another extension of the princess’ long reach, allowing her to stretch her hand far across the kingdom.
  23.
  24. The Page: The smallest of the chosen few, Kukiel is a young knight who learns under all those present, spending much of her time playing innocently with the Man Eater and learning her sword under the cruel Prince. Her heart is most innocent, not having had the time to become corrupted by the godling’s dark desires.
  25.
  26. The Matron: Lost to this land, looking for someone she once lost, Laruto is a zora who hears the voice of a gentle god calling her to this place. She becomes quick friends with the Advisor and soon becomes the only one to follow the path of the earth god in the court. With her harp in hand, she seeks to find a way to end the curse over the land with her fellow clergymen.
  27.
  28. The Duke: A noble with a great amount of land but wanting little to do with it, Ganondorf is bitter with the godling’s choice of a whimsical man with such harsh children as a king, rather than a firm hand and loyalty to his gods. He speaks quietly with Veran on a regular basis, saying that he hears the voice of the god Anselin, the one she is to serve, and gives her his words, in hopes that he too will overthrow the whimsical fool of a king.
  29.
  30. The High Priestess: Ever ambitious with a temperament with sweet venom, it is rumored that Veran is the cruel princess’ true mother. Serving under a god she has never heard the voice of, she listens to a false voice that hopes to take the throne from the old, whimsical king. The godling does not find much favor for her, though keeps her in line by manipulating her rival, the magician. Together the pair keep each other in check, in a continual balance.
  31.
  32. The Magician: Working side by side with –though not really- the Advisor and the Clergyman, the Magician Vaati is also crafty. He stays by the princess, hoping that his influence will reach far across the land. He lies, and says that he hears the voice of the godling when he does not, and only hears the voices on the wind, as the advisor does. Ever vigilant and afraid, he keeps one eye open, and remains pleasant to those who approach him.
  33.
  34. The Clergyman: Young, and holding more wisdom than men ten times his age, Valoo is known as an old spirit. No one is sure where he comes from, or why he hears the voice of the gods that others cannot, but the Godling is fond of him, and uses him to speak with those long passed. Kind and crafty, he avoids the eye of the princess most easily, and is working to make the kingdom safe from her future reign.
  35.
  36. The General: An old, scarred, and grizzled man of much wisdom and age, he leads the great military of the monochromatic country. The Shade, as he is both respectfully and affectionately, called, is a great warrior of mystery and prestige. While his standards and skills are high, he distrusts the royal family, and knows that once the cruel princess comes to power, he will be removed from his position. But not without a fight.
  37.
  38. The Servant: Sweet and once a young ranch-hand, Malon serves under her royal highness, and is known as her most loyal of servants. While the future queen is cruel and harsh to her, Malon shows patience and kindness toward her, having the disposition to handle the harsh lady making her the best choice for the position.
  39.
  40. The Assassin: World renown is not good for an assassin, and so, being the best of her trade, Nabooru has kept silent and quiet under her employ. She, owned by the young Prince Link, is to be a counter to anyone who should be able to best the young one in swordplay and has, so far, been the only one outside of the General and the King himself that has beaten him. (Let it be known that he has never dueled the Executioner as that would end in death) Crafty and strong, she is a great force to be reckoned with, and seems to have a heavy rivalry with the Duke Ganondorf.
  41.
  42. The dark kingdom is a place where everything is draped in blacks and grays. The people do not seem to fear their leaders, but yet they do, hiding their fear behind celebration. While it seems uncolored, the place is bursting with life.
  43. The country, once a bright place, exists under a violet sun, and has not been the same since their sun god became such a wicked and strange creature. They rule over their kingdom with iron hands and soft voices, and their court is ever growing as the godling continues to find others to play with.
  44. Welcome to the palace draped in white and black and silver and gray. Torches line the walls here.
  45. The executioner, the pale one, bows to you in greeting. The warrior Oreo gives a grim smile, and the prince gives you a smirk. The cold hearted princess gives a laugh. “Welcome to the Dark Court.”
  46.
  47. He is dragged forward, worn and beaten body dropped before her highness.
  48. The child princess, without her father at her side, is quite cruel, isn’t she? She waves a hand and gives a sneer. “You would try to defy me…wouldn’t you? I don’t have to wait for my father to pass on for me to be rid of a nuisance like you. You’ve committed the heinous crime of treason. And treason warrants death.”
  49. She waves her hands to the executioner, who moves from his place. The pair share a silent exchange. Shade knows that, under normal circumstances, his old friend wouldn’t do this. He doesn’t WANT to do this. But he doesn’t have a choice. “…Make it brief then,” he growls, lowering his head, so that the phantom creature does not need to look at him. The phantom’s hands grip the sword and shake. Please don’t make me do this please please please—
  50. “Are you going to be insolent, Phantom? I could always call down the godling. I’m certain he’d have fun playing with you.”
  51. His body fails to defy her orders any longer. Playing with the godling would be a blessing compared to this.
  52. The sword makes an arc in the air, and the general is no more.
  53. Panting and gasping, the princess is on her knees. Not of her own will, of course. Fear colors her expression for a moment. Without her father or the others to protect her, she is at the mercy of her demons.
  54. Demons that are finally coming back to haunt her.
  55. She looks to the cruel godling who set this fate upon them. “Why did you do this?”
  56. Majora laughs. “I didn’t do a thing.” He floats above her and heavy footsteps round a corner. “This really has been great fun but… I think you’ve lost, princess!” He disappears, waiting for the tall spirit to make his way there.
  57. “Pathetic kneeling princess..” He doesn’t spare words. “This is what you are without your armor. Sickening. To think you abandoned your people and became something this monstrous.”
  58. Zelda says nothing, there are no words left for her. “Now.. Please, allow me to show you the service you did us. Perhaps you too realize that this is better..for all of us.”
  59. There is the sliding of a sword from its scabbard, the clanking of metal and iron from the creature’s stance. A man kneels down and holds her close, out of reach of the sword. A slice. Not an immediate death, but long enough for the words to set in. The Phantom sheaths his blade coldly.
  60. The shade and the phantom stand side by side. The king cradles his child.
  61. “…I know it hurts..” Silver lowers his head to hers, blood spilling across them. “But it’s better…for all of us..Even you..” His grip tightens on her. “Rest well, little one.
  62. She had…in fact…abandoned her people to become something they feared.
  63. This land of peace…prosperity.. IT had all died out. And while it was not her fault completely… she had played a hand to it.
  64. And she too was lost in silence.
  65.
  66. Gods:
  67. Majora: Majora is the dark godling of the sun. While in previous days, everything was peaceful and the sun was not tinted with violet, he was a more peaceful and mischievous god. His festival is held in the dead of winter.
  68.
  69. Vayu: Vayu is the deceased god of the Wind. While he may no longer have a physical body, he speaks to those who serve him through the wind, and hope to guide the kingdom into prosperity. He gently chides his brother for his crudeness, and pushes on others to, hopefully, succeed in his vision. His festival is held in spring.
  70.
  71. Varro: Varro is the deceased god of the Earth. He too, no longer has a physical body, and speaks to very few people. His voice is heard by three people, and three people alone, and he shares his brother’s desire for a prosperous and good kingdom. His festival takes place in the middle of autumn, barely before Majora’s.
  72.
  73. Anselin: Anselin is the god of the Moon. His moon is considered good luck and those who are born with fair hair and eyes are considered to be ‘moonblessed’ and are lucky. However, no one dares utter his full name, for fear of ending the world itself. As uttering his name wakes him from his slumber and sets him on a path of rage filled destruction. His festival is the greatly celebrated Carnival of Time, a day when all are meant to prosper.
  74.
  75. Tribes:
  76.
  77. Elin: the Elin tribe was a tribe that resided in the west. A subspecies of Hylians, they were so pale white that they appeared as spectres in the dark and burned in sunlight. Their greatest festival was the carnival of time, and their people could hear the voices of the god Anselin while he slept. Once every generation, the godling leads a ceremony, and a boy is chosen to carry the name of the moon god, should the need arise for the village to call him. The same boy, every year, is anointed, and is to give a wish to the moon god, so that it may be granted. Often, the village collectively thinks of a wish, and sends it to the moon god. One day, a man from the south steals the village’s most precious treasure, the Fierce Deity mask, and tries to use it against the king. But he is not of the Elin tribe, and so. He plans to invade and take the one who can bare the mask and use it to destroy the king. Anselin, the god hears of this, and sends the godling to his beloved village. Destroy it, he orders, and the godling does so. Elin Tribe no longer exists.
  78.
  79. Erro: The Erro tribe is a tribe that existed in the cold snowy north. Despite the fact that they were surrounded with white, they were a dark-skinned, dark haired tribe, much in contrast with the Elin tribe to the West. Their god was Varro, a gracious and powerful god, who isolated himself from the world. The Erro did the same, and soon became strange shadows of the Hylians. They bore crimson eyes to see in the dark so that they might be able to survive. Once ever year, at the festival of the dead would they celebrate with the other nations, and live in peace with them. But once the sun god had removed Varro from their path, they were open to conquering. And as stubborn as they were, they were weak to magic and became enslaved under a great and evil wind sorcerer, who desired the power of the shadows as well. He too, sought to overthrow the king, but failed, and, once the battle for the kingdom was over, the sorcerer was dead, and only three shadow beings remained. They are the last of their kind, and serve under the employ of the palace.
  80.
  81. Ayun: The Ayun tribe were a tribe that lived in the south, beneath the reach of the Gerudo lord and his women. They were a peaceful, loving people of many talents, most of them grand musicians and the greatest of artisans. They celebrated spring in the swamps and were always open and friendly—fair complected and small, these creatures were almost like the kokiri that lived in the very woods they stayed in. All was well and peaceful, in fact, they seemed to exist well, until their god too, was taken away. With Vayu gone, the people’s lamentations filled the air and many musicians fell silent. They began to die out, as they had lost their joy and, over time, there were few families, who guarded the sacred fiddle of the god Vayu. The eldest child of the remaining villagers took up the silent fiddle, and played it, bringing life and joy back into the village. But it was far too late. While the other Ayun children could be saved, the elders only looked on with sadness, and passed on.
  82.
  83. Aroa: The Aroa were a dark skinned, dark haired group that existed in the canyon of the far east. While peaceful towards themselves, they were aggressive towards other nations, and followed in the path of the sun. While everything they did was worked for and sought hard after, they were unhappy with the land they were given. It was so hot and dry. They became wicked and lamented to their god, the Sun, who beat down on them with his heat. They tried to pray to the moon, who could not ease them, or the wind or the earth, who also could not ease them. And while they prospered, all they could see was desolation and desert winds. The water from the moon gave them vicious mud, the wind sandstorms, and the earth cracked beneath them. They became angry at the gods, and cursed them, taking the people from their tribes and using them as sacrifices. The little one did not understand, and his brothers became angry with him. Why are your people taking our people and slaughtering them? The sun god became angry with his people. You are the people of the sun! And you should be grateful to have this place and such vast riches! In his anger, the god Majora reigned down with a vengeance, and destroyed most of his people. The ones left, prayed and begged their god for forgiveness, and, eventually too, died out. They found, however, that they could not rest. They became the wandering spirits of the Garo.
  84.
  85. Hyli: Finally, there were the Hyli tribe, who lived in the center of Termina, and came from the place that it had conquered in the great war. They followed the great Golden Goddesses, as well as the gods of Termina, and honored all of them. The gods, in turn, searched, and sent out the sun. Go and find them a great king, they said. One who will rule them and live in peace and prosperity. The godling sun ventured out far into the world, and brought with him a great and majestic man, who, at first, did not desire the throne. But he saw the suffering of the Aroa, and the loss of the Ayun. He saw the great loneliness of the Elin, and the slavery of the Erro, and put aside his whims, and set about, pulling the five tribes together, building them as one. Over time, the land knew peace, and he took those that had remained from their tribes, and pulled them into his court. The Hyli tribe rejoiced, and soon, the land became full of their tribe, the people called Hylians. They interacted well with the other creatures—the Deku and Gerudo to the south, the Zoras to the west, the Gorons to the north, and the Ikanans to the east. But one day, the godling came back from his adventures carrying two children with him. He voiced not where they had come from, but only that they had need of a home. The great king, who caused much good in his land, embraced them. The Hylians rejoiced, but soon found, that while the Prince was not as kind as his father-rather cold and distant—the Princess was very cruel and harsh. They hope that soon, they can find a way to fix these children, so that when their king gives away his throne, they can continue to be at peace once more.
  86.
  87. The Tribe At the End of the World: At the very end of the world sits a tribe outside of Termina. It is quiet and inconspicuous. The people there are much like the Hylians, only they refer to themselves as the Tri, as they are followers of the golden goddesses, the ones who created the triforce. This tribe, while ancient and sacred, has dwindled down to just two members. They were a sacred group, protected by the goddesses, and urged to guard the Sacred Realm and the Temple of Time. The first time the godling Majora ventured out into the wastes at the end of the world, the tribe was larger. But then a sleeping plague struck, and so, the second time the godling visited, the tribe was smaller still. Finally, four adults ventured into the forest to find something for food. They did not return. At the wastes on the end of the world, were left a boy and a girl who guarded the Sacred Realm with their only company being a sagely owl who could not leave the temple. The godling came to them and said ‘do you wish to have a family again’. The pair were silent, and the godling asked them again. After a moment, the boy answered. Yes. The godling looked to the owl, who nodded in assent. Yes, the godling could take them to a place to be happy. But when they grow older, they must return here, with others, so that they may recreate the tribe, and guard the sacred realm. The godling nodded, and picked up the strange boy and the strange girl, both dressed in tatters and rags, and carried them back to the lap of the Great King. “Take these children,” he said, and sat them down on him. “They are tired, lonely and hungry. Please care for them as though they were your own.” And so, the Hylians had a prince and a princess.
