  1. Download utserver for 64-bit system:

  3. wget http://download-new.utorrent.com/endpoint/utserver/os/linux-x64-ubuntu-13-04/track/beta/ -O utserver.tar.gz
  4. 2. Install uTorrent sever to /opt/, and create symlink
  5.  
  6. Open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) or login to Ubuntu server, and run command to extract the downloaded server to /opt/:

  8. sudo tar -zxvf utserver.tar.gz -C /opt/
  9. For Ubuntu Desktop user who downloaded uTorrent server package using a web browser, you may replace the command with:

  11. sudo tar -zxvf ~/Downloads/utserver.tar.gz -C /opt/
  12. Then you may change the ownership via command:
  13.  
  14. sudo chown root:root -R /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3/
  15. And finally create a symlink to the executable via command:
  16.  
  17. sudo ln -s /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3/utserver /usr/bin/utserver
  18. 3. Install the required libssl library via command:
  19.  
  20. sudo apt-get install libssl1.0.0 libssl-dev
  21. 4. Finally start uTorrent server:

  23. utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3/ &
  24. Login ╬╝Torrent web client:
  25. Open a web browser and go to http://server-ip-address:8080/gui or http://yourdomain.com:8080 to get into the login screen. (get you ip via ifconfig command).

  27. For the first login, type admin as username and leave the password box empty.
