  3. Start with philosophy. Look at Plato's dialogues or Kant's Critiques as examples of how to handle other people's arguments without ridiculing them. Then move onto something that interests you (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.). Learn the basics of that one field, fill yourself up with information on that thing which interests you the most. Once you know everything generally worth of notice, you should get into specific papers published on the field.
