  1. He asked him for a favor.
  2.
  3. "I’m here with a girl and I want to make a good impression on her. Can you stop at my table and greet me like an old friend?'
  4.
  5. “OK, kid, I’ll try,” said the Jupiterian, smiling.
  6.
  7. A little later he dropped by the boy’s table and said, “Hi, Webby!”
  8.
  9. Samuel looked up at him and snapped, “Fuck off, Manny. Can’t you see I’m busy?”
  10.
  11. ---
  12.
  13. The waiter comes up and hands Webby his check. He is surprised at being charged $19.75 for his kidney beans on rye caraway, but $600 for "the opportunity cost of serving food."
  14.
  15. Webby is about to yell at the waiter for the $600 charge, but is shocked to realize the the waiter is LeBron James.
  16.
  17. ---
  18.
  19. LeBron James tells Webby that demand for kidneys has gone up.
  20.
  21. Webby, wanting to impress his date, corrects LeBron and says, "Actually, supply has gone down."
  22.
  23. Macron immediately interrupts and says, "You can't reason from a price change." He gestures towards the female seated next to Webby,
  24.
  25.
  26. "I don't understand why a girl like that would want to date a person who doesn't know where price changes come from."
  27.
  28.
  29. The girl looks up and glares at Goolsbee in anger.
  30.
  31. "I'm not his date! I'm only here because he wants me to leave him alone."
  32.
  33. LeBron and Macron, both confused, simultaneously ask, "leave *him* alone?"
  34.
  35. "No, a *loan*. I'm his loan officer."
  36.
  37. ---
  38.
  39. LeBron and Macron suddenly understand the situation, and LeBron quickly gets back to the main subject.
  40.
  41. LeBron: At least pay for the meal, Webby.
  42.
  43. Webby: Can't, I don't have any money. I was hoping that she'd leave me a loan.
  44.
  45. Lone Officer: Oh, no. Sorry.
  46.
  47. Macron: I can leave him a loan.
  48.
  49. He pulls out a $20 bill and hands it to LeBron. LeBron is about to hand a quarter in change to Macron, but Macron tells Webby that he can hold onto it.
  50.
  51. Webby: Really?
  52.
  53. Macron: Yes. But you need to give me back that change in the future.
  54.
  55. Webby: When do you want the change?
  56.
  57. By this time, Webby looks at his watch and realizes it is past midnight, and immediately begins vomiting up 25 cents in pennies.
  58.
  59. Macron calmly picks up the coins, and says,
  60.
  61. "En Marche," as apparently change comes from within.
  62.
  63. ---
  64.
  65. Webby, terrified, tries to catch his breath and suddenly vomits up a kidney, increasing total supply and lowering equilibrium price.
  66.
  67. Apparently price change comes from within.
  68.
  69. ---
  70.
  71. Now, you will realize that that this tale begins with past tense and ends with future tense. Why? Just relax. Take a deep breath.
  72.
  73. You'll realize that tense change will also come from within.
