dimitri edelgarde is tragic beauty

I've been thinking about dimitri & can't sleep, you're the only person i can trust so I'm gonna vomit all this @ you sorry. so obviously I've not played edelgarde's route & so some of this probably misses the mark
but one issue i took with dimitri is that he seemed to have less.. vision than her about fixing the issues in fodlan. which makes sense to me bc dimitri is extremely tunnel-visioned by grief, a desire for vengeance & also by the major political instability in faerghus which i think just ends up not affording him the ability to think on as (presumably) large a scale as she is in terms of action to be taken. now what I'm really vibing on is that Dimitri in The Backstory spurred her into action, but the actions taken by Edelgarde working as the flame emperor & working with those who slither in the dark directly facilitates all the tragedy & instability that comes unto dimitri & faerghus. this in turn leads to the tunnel-vision that prevents dimitri from thinking on as much revolutionary terms as her (a.k.a the lolCentrist Dimitri thing- which GOD that take is so wrong ahh- is a direct consequence of her own actions) & thus never affording them the chance to be allies despite literally sharing the same ideals. how good & tragic is that??
