  1. Howls-at-High-Moon calls for the meeting, sending whomever to track people down. Her time of birth is near and it's time to just get this out of the way. RIGHT FUCKING NOW. Alecto waits for people, sitting as stately as she can manage with her breeding and her obvious discomfort. Once everyone arrives, she declares, pushing carefully, slowly up to her feet. <<George and Journey will wait outside. Percy and I will enter first. If Tabia is there, she will be asked to wait outside, at which time Journey and George will explain the situation to her. At that time, Percy will translate for ME to Annie and will tell her what is happening.>> Alecto sighs quietly. She is NOT happy about this. At all. She directs her attention to Percy. <<You will inform her that she is leaving. Right now. She has five minutes to pack a bag. No harm will come to her and that is why you and Lucie are coming along. Lucie will help her pack if necessary. The two of you will keep her calm. There is no intention of violence, but she IS going, so if she resists, we will do what is necessary and ONLY what is necessary to restrain her. I do not want her or the child harmed on this trip.>>
  2.
  3. Journey is standing to the side, and listens to Howls, nodding simply. He's in a placid, still kind of calm point at the moment. Even so the time of the moon and the subject matter have given him a predatory stands and silence, an undercurrent of energy. He's going to stand there and make people hope he doesn't have to do anything.
  4.
  5. Percy isn't hard to track down at this point - her pack hasn't moved since they set down roots - and is pretty damn good at being wherever she needs to be five minutes early. So she bounces on the balls of her feet, hands in the pocket of her oversized hoodie, nodding once toward Alecto. "Sounds like a plan, boss." It's not a /fun/ thing they're here to do, but it needs to be done; she's ready to do her bit.
  6.
  7. George has taken to leaving one of his allied spirits from his network with Alecto in anticipation of just such a need so he's easy to find as well. George nods to Alecto and otherwise remains silent, moving just enough to keep from vanishing.
  8.
  9. The trip to Annie's is uneventful, though Alecto does have to be creative to not be seen. SHe IS a wolf and Annie DOES live in the city. As they arrive, they will find that Tabia is not there. Alecto and Percy enter to find Annie doing Annie things. Washing dishes, maybe. Alecto nudges Percy forward as Annie stops what she's doing to answer the door, letting them both inside.
  10.
  11. Percy's pretty comfortable in the city at this point - her eerie memory certainly has its uses on the 'not getting lost' front - and is quick to chatter politely at passersby when it looks like Alecto might need a minute to move without people /staring/. Cute, harmless, excellent distraction! At Annie's, however, she sobers up pretty quickly, more calm professional than perky stranger. "Hey, Annie. I imagine you've got a pretty good idea why we're here. You're safe, we're not going to let anything bad happen, but we need you to pack a bag and fast. Lucie'll help, yeah? It'll be a breeze."
  12.
  13. Annie was at first happy to see Alecto, but at the mention of packing a bag, she pauses. She wants to know why. She looks nervously outside and Lucie gives her arm a tug to bring her back to the other room.
  14.
  15. Journey just haunts the area, waiting for a signal. Not moving. Of course, if Annie does run.. he and George are there. Cash me oussie, how bou dah?
  16.
  17. George isn't quite a statue but has apparently take a measure of peace from having yeilded to the Truthcatcher's judgement and so remains still, waiting outside.
  18.
  19. "There's a facility where you'll be staying for the duration of your pregnancy." Percy's voice remains quiet - gentle but firm. It's the tone one learns to take when dealing with hysterical mothers and frightened children. "It's clean, comfortable and safe. You'll be able to receive all of your pre-natal care and once the baby is born, you'll be free to go wherever you choose outside Prospect." There's a subtle shift to her weight and a glance down at Alecto that comes with a specific head tilt and a soft whine high in the back of her throat. <<Will her Strider be allowed to visit her while she's there?>> It's not /elegant/, but it's not bad for someone still in Homid.
  20.
  21. <<Yes.>> is Alecto's simple response. <<She will be told and she may be able to join her permanently if she wishes, subject to their rules and laws, as soon as Annie gets settled.>> Alecto shifts her weight just a little bit, uncomfortable. Her belly's moving and honestly, she needs a drink and a tree to pee on. But she holds her ground for now. Annie is reluctant, but cooperative, more or less and with Lucie's help, she gets a bag together, sobbing, maybe even arguing, but still moving things along. Once she has her bag packed and has made excuses and done some pleading, Alecto tells Percy. <<Suggest, please, that this will be a much smoother ride if she does not engage either George or Journey. We are taking a moon bridge. It has already been set up. The trip will take SECONDS, rather than hours.>>
  22.
  23. Journey keeps a watch, waiting, ready to move when called on.
  24.
  25. The sobbing is... it's regrettable, but not something that seems to be entirely outside of Percy's range for 'normal' if her lack of surprise is anything to go by. She's got a travel pack of Kleenex in her pocket, so she isn't /unprepared/, but her soothing isn't exactly the normal tactic. "You won't be alone. The worst part is when you have to be alone. I'll make sure your girlfriend knows where you are and how to come and see you. We're making inquiries to see if she can come and stay if the facility rules will allow." And though Lucie is an excellent packer, Percy lends a hand to speed up the process - and maybe just a little to help calm down the distressed Kin. "I'll be making regular visits to check in and make sure you're alright. You'll be very comfortable." She pauses to listen to Alecto and then nods. "And in the interests of making this trip as comfortable for you and the baby as possible, we're going to be using a moon bridge. It'll cut down significantly on time. George and Journey are going to follow us through to make sure everyone gets where they're going safely, so it would be best not to distract them from that, yeah?" And she even slings one of the bags over her own shoulder, to help schlep. "All set?"
  26.
  27. Annie is NOT a happy girl. Alecto sends Lucie out to bring Journey and George inside so the moonbridge can be made.
  28.
  29. George is not fooled by the sobbing, if anything his expression hardens and he ponders using a gift to silence her. However Percy's got a task and he'll let her be about it without his meddling.
  30.
  31. George moves in when called.
  32.
  33. Journey walks in and nods, selecting a corner to open the Bridge, having the destination point in mind, and opens the Bridge, letting the procession go through, him kinda needing to go last.
  34.
  35. George will go first then, normally Point precedence would be Alecto's but she's /very/ pregnant and he's participating for the party's safety.
  36.
  37. George at the front, then Percy and Annie, then Lucie, followed by Alecto and finally Journey, just as ordered. They are met on the other side by a small group of women and one VERY LARGE man who looks to be there just in case there is trouble. Annie doesn't really want to go through, but she does when Alecto nudges her gently on the butt with her nose. The women, who all look more or less hardened by time and wisdom and have all probably Seen Some Shit wait for the bridge to close before the oldest of them, a woman of probably ninety or so, steps forward, bowing her head politely and with respect to the Garou present. "We welcome you all to the Sept of Gaia's Hope... You must be Annie." The old woman wanders over and puts a hand on either of Annie's arms. "Welcome to your new home, child. Let's go. There is no reason to dawdle now." Annie, two of the women, and the VERY LARGE MAN head further inside, while a younger woman, perhaps in her fifties, and clearly a kin, dips her head politely as well. "I'm Maggie, I'm Shadow Lord kin. I'll be giving you the tour if that is still what you wish."
  38.
  39. There's a soft spot in every English heart for sassy old women. But when one was raised in a south-England Black Fury Sept, that soft spot becomes full-on affection. Once Annie is safely handed off - and doesn't /look/ to have gotten herself in any kind of imminent shit. yet. - Percy turns her full attention to the other woman. "Hello, Maggie. I'm Percy. It's a pleasure to meet you and the tour would be lovely."
  40.
  41. Journey remains where he is, looking to the others, "We do need to catch Tabia as soon as possible and inform her of what's happened." He says.
  42.
  43. George is reminded of his last Foster Mother, and glances over to Journey and Alecto "If the two of you would like to return home I can get Percy and Lucie home by the Sunroads with Rebiu's help."
  44.
  45. Journey looks to Alecto, "Fair enough, what do you think?"
  46.
  47. Maggie nods to Percy, giving her a little smile. There is most definitely respect and her eyes don't quite meet Percy's, or anyone else's, but she is hardly ducking her head down into her own neck being all shy and reserved. She stands with confidence, shoulders back and straight. "Of course. Right this way---" When Journey speaks, the woman nods, waiting then. Howls glances over at Journey and George. <<That is fine with me. I probably very much need to rest or plan on having my pups here. I would rather be home.>> She looks to the woman, who apparently understands Lupus and she nods, eyes widening just a touch. "Either is acceptable, Elder. We have facilities here if you'd wish." The woman actually looks EXCITED about the idea. Alecto shakes her head. <<I will go with Journey. George will take care of the two of you and see you home properly.>> And already, she's turning to go while Maggie turns her attention back to George and Percy
  48.
  49. And Lucie
  50.
  51. Journey pages: SIGN: See if there's gift shop.
  52.
  53. George snickers at something absently and then shakes his head to clear it before saying to Alecto "It is the sort of thing best done in ones own den." Then to Maggie "I've heard good things about your sept and I look forward to seeing it in person. I find myself greatful for....options."
  54.
  55. Percy is quiet while the grown-ups have their discussion. Ultimately, the methodology here has little practical effect on the work she needs to get done, but there is a concerned look shot Alecto's way. "I'll come by to debrief when you've had time to recouperate, Rhya." But that's the sum of her contribution there. Mama needs to get home and there's new stuff to learn now!
  56.
  57. Journey waves to the others, smiling to George, then to Alecto, opening the return bridge.
  58.
  59. <<Thank you>> Alecto says with a tail flap in Percy's direction, then turns to leave with Journey, wandering more slowly, pausing, then continuing onward. Maggie watches them go and then turns back to Percy, eyes a little wide. "She is about to pop. My goodness!" Maggie chuckles and then clears her throat, nodding to George. "We will be glad to show you around. Come this way. We will need your thumb print at the main door. It will have to be scanned in before you can enter. No one comes in or goes out without being scanned through. It's for the safety of our residents, more than anything. Some who have come here have made enemies. There is a magical ban on anyone who isn't in the system. It isn't foolproof, but it works well enough. We have yet to have anyone get in or out without permission."
  60.
  61. Ah god, lady, you've just said the magic words. 'Magic' and 'Tech' might as well be Percy-treats for all that they make her perk up /immediately/. She does, at least, do an excellent impression of a Serious Adult shortly thereafter, but there's a little more bounce in her step when she follows. "Makes sense. Which network spirits did you code in? Did they fully integrate with the system or do they maintain their own pathways between units?" And the nerd is off and running. Sorry, Maggie!
  62.
  63. George nods and ponders as he considers "And I'd be in your system? I know I'm a bit famous but I find that curious." Then Percy starts talking....and talking...and George nods somewhere between sagely and wtfly.
  64.
  65. Maggie just stares at Percy. She doesn't MEAN to, but it just happens. "I have no idea, miss. You would have to ask one of the Glasswalkers." She turns her head to George and shakes her head. "Only for the duration of your visit, if you want it to be that way. You can't get out without the thumbprint." This may or may not be ACTUALLY true, but the woman certainly BELIEVES that with all her heart. "There are those who wish their privacy, as one might expect, and there... I do not know the details, Elder. But it is my understanding that you can be removed once you leave our haven."
  66.
  67. Percy... honestly gets both of these reactions a lot. It's just how do at this point. She grins - pretty recognizant of the fact that this is more than most people come equipped to deal with - but /does/ tone down the nerd factor. "I'll probably be making visits in the future, so I don't mind staying in the system - and I'd love a chance to talk with another Glass Walker. Something this complex must be a work of art."
  68.
  69. George nods at Maggie and shrugs "I don't mind staying in the system, its just if I already was then how I got there and if it indicated a failure of my own security measures it would be important to know. What measures do you have in place against infiltration from the Shadowlands?"
  70.
  71. "There are fetishes, blocking passage from the Umbra and the Shadowlands. There is nothing to stop an army from placing themselves right where we stand, but there is immense power for everything within 10 feet of the doors itself and all the way around. Even the ..." She pauses, brow knitting. "The other place. With the...." She draws little butterfly wings in the air and makes a fluttering gesture. ".. that place. Whatever it's called.. is also blocked. No looking in, no looking out. Again, I don't know all the details, but I would be happy to let you speak to my Ritemistress. Both of you. You both seem interested in details that I do not fully grasp."
  72.
  73. "That's alright," Percy is quick to soothe. "I know I get ahead of myself quite quickly. I'm perfectly content to take the tour today and find another day to babble nerd at someone."
  74.
  75. George nods and grins at Maggie "That's excellent. Just so long as steps have been taken I'll leave the specifics to the experts. Part of my service to Gaia is as a master thief and the Shadowlands is a frequently unguarded road. So its how I'd crack this place if I had need to."
  76.
  77. Maggie looks VERY relieved. There's a brief pause at the front door where someone who is clearly the warder steps out, takes thumbprints, heads inside, then peeks through a window. "Alright," he says. Thumbprints are taken in the little high tech rig and each person is admitted, the door closing behind them until the next thumbprint is read and then they are ALSO admitted. Inside, there are color coded badges. No names. Just color coded. Lucie get a plain white one. Percy gets a yellow one. George gets a red one. Maggie puts hers on as well. Plain, like Lucie's. She explains: "Rank. Plain is kinfolk, yellow is Cliath, orange is Fostern, green is Adren, blue is Athro, red is Elder. The V.." She points to Lucie's V on the badge, which is rather small, "denotes visitor. Mine is H for host. There are other classifications, such as people going through intake, those who are allowed to roam more freely because of good behavior, notations for those who are restricted for any number of things. You likely won't see any Intakes. The first 72 hours, people are generally put on suicide watch and are monitored carefully. No one comes here voluntarily, as you can well imagine." She turns to Percy. "But also, most people who come here are loathe to actually leave, even when they are ALLOWED to. This is a good place. We are one very big family here."
  78.
  79. Percy goes through the process with remarkably little commentary, but wide blue eyes dart everywhere like she's trying her best to see /everything all the time/. Tiny nerd. "It's an understandable precaution. Big transitions are difficult at the best of times, moreso when they're abrupt and even /more/ when the mind and emotional balance are already fragile." At least she seems familiar with the subject matter.
  80.
  81. George nods at Maggie, following along and listening politely "It sounds very well organized. Do you have any handicrafts that are sold on site? Or is all commerce managed elsewhere?"
  82.
  83. "There are some here who have things to sell. The ones who have been granted the right to leave anyway. And some have just learned a trade because there's nothing else to do for fun around here, so they say. The new people are given time to settle in before they are trained in a craft of some sort. Not always physical, but most people go that route. People who are particularly skilled at writing, or languages or whathaveyou.. we try to put people where they will succeed. Sometimes, people only need direction." Maggie continues further in, motioning over toward a rather large dormitory-looking place. "This is where the orphans stay. Age ranges from newborn to 14. At 14, if they are still there, and assuming all is well with them, they are given the opportunity to branch out further and we start preparing them for life outside of Gaia's Hope. Some of those children have never set foot outside the walls. Over there.." She indicates a sprawling complex of apartments. One story. Five apartments to a building, 7 buildings. "Our family unit. Children stay with their parents until they are 15 or 16 and then go through the real life preparations, just as the orphans and fosters do." She motions over THERE. "Intake. Secluded. A little drab, but we don't get many people coming in on a regular basis. I think we've had three intakes this year." Another building, bright and cheerful. "The school. K through 12, and there is a room also for those interested in earning their GED and another two or three rooms for people who wish to take college classes online."
  84.
  85. There's a side-eye shot toward George when he asks about the gift-shop, but there's a huff of laughter and a good-natured eye-roll rather than any legitimate offense. "Boys." Basically. But that's all the time she'll spend on that. Not when the facility as it unfolds is actually... frankly, impressive. This is an organization that has its shit together and there's no hiding her approval. "How many clients do you house at any one time, usually?"
  86.
  87. George nods at Maggie's explanation and takes a moment to look around when Percy asks her question. This place is a far sight better than the Wyoming State foster system.
  88.
  89. "Right now, we are, thankfully, at optimum capacity. Three quarters full, which is, if you count everyone, from the newest baby to the oldest kin, is about 300 people. Clients - people who still actively NEED our services, two hundred. So we have approximately one staff for every two clients. We HAVE had as many as five hundred people and that was a HUGE burden on everyone. That was when someone had the brilliant idea to raze a BSD hive and brought back ALL the kin, had them mass cleansed, and forced them into our much more peaceful way of life. It was awful. Some of those people -- as much as I hate to say it - some of them had been so damaged they would have been better off dead. Eventually, they were given that option: Acclimate or take your own life. Here is a pill. All but two of them chose to die rather than live with the nasty Gaians. Mina is now one of our staff and even when she was allowed to leave, she chose to stay." She motions around the place. "We have a grocery store. We have a detention center. We have playgrounds for the children and parks. It isn't a LARGE town, but we are basically a small incorporation of Los Angeles. We are completely solar powered and we run on wells. There's a huge lake underneath us that never fails to produce clean water. But there is no facebook, no internet, no wifi. As you can imagine, we are pretty well insulated from the rest of the world because of the nature of ----"
  90.
  91. There is a scream from the detention facility and a string of curses. It's a male scream, not female and some girl, probablt not much older than Percy comes tearing out of there like her ass is on fire, holding a knife which gleams with silver. Maggie actually steps in front of George and Percy, as if to block them. There are clicks and thuds all around them as the place goes on lock down. The few people milling about stop in their tracks and sit down. They just SIT. "Let them do their job please," Maggie pleads, glancing over at Percy and George as she, too, sits down, right where she is, her hands open, laid on her thighs. Four people emerge behind the girl from the detention center, almost immediately as the last of the loud clicks happen. One of them takes point and beelines toward the girl while the other three fan out. "DAISY! Just STOP! This is your last warning!"
  92.
  93. Well that's... you know, in a place like this, that's not... the /weirdest/ thing that could have come barreling down the hall? That's not much consolation as Percy tenses on pure instinct. She doesn't sit, but she does take a knee - though those impossibly blue eyes remain trained on the young girl with the blade. If she doesn't /look/ much older than Percy? Chances are she's actually younger and that... that merits an additional level of caution for the tiny Theurge.
  94.
  95. George is listening respectfully to Maggie and nodding at suitably impressed points when the mayhem erupts and he stops, listening to Maggie's request and tracking the mayhem with shifts of his head and eyes, following the girl or more specificly her knife.
  96.
  97. The girl tears toward the exit, coming within twenty or thirty feet of the party. "Daisy, please..." Maggie whispers, but doesn't move. She DOES close her eyes. The man coming after her gains some ground and flows into lupus and POUNCES the girl. There is the sound of snapping bone as SOMETHING breaks in the girl's body. Probably an arm or a leg, but it's a LOUD sound and her scream is piercing. The lupus does not attack further, but the girl IS still flailing with that knife and the wolf, aggitated, dances back just a little bit, then just stomps on her arm. That's all. The girl half-rolls, kicking and flailing and screaming and cursing. Feral, a little crazy. The three others catch up and one jerks the knife from her hand and rolls her onto her belly only to have her flop back over onto her back. It's her other arm that's broken and the man holding her down, as the lupus steps away, seems to actually TRY to avoid that arm, though it's impossible since she's flailing. "Dammit, kid. Just fucking STOP." It's pretty obvious to anyone who knows anything about fighting that he could easily overpower the girl and just HURT her into compliance, but he seems to be at least trying to avoid that. After he gets punched in the nuts by a flying foot, he makes a growly sound and just drops his weight on the girl and headbutts her and she goes still. "Fucking OW! Someone get a goddamn Theurge!"
  98.
  99. George points at Percy and nods to Maggie with a quirked eyebrow.
  100.
  101. Percy's already on her feet by the time that headbutt gets delivered. Not approaching yet - she actually does know better - but there's a certain amount of concern that can't just... be swallowed. So when George volunteers her, she's quick to head over and kneel next to the girl and the worker holding her. "If I may?" Because Cliath knows to wait until there's an all-clear before just touching people. Once she's cleared, though, there's no wasted time. "He'll be saying 'I told you so for /weeks/," she mutters, though that's more to herself than anyone else.
  102.
  103. "Theurge on lockdown, sir!" One of the men calls out and when Percy rises, he nods, motioning her through. The man rolls off the girl, not so subtly rubbing his damaged jewels and motions toward the girl. "Please. She caught me by surprise." He's out of breath and his nose is a little bloody, but he's up on his feet. There are clicks as some of the doors open to let out staff. "Is she okay? Where did she get the silver? What on EARTH happened?" All at once. People still sit, but Maggie is nodded to by one of the men on the recon team and she rises, moving forward. "Oh, Daisy," she says with a sigh, shaking her head. As Percy heals the girl, she comes awake and IMMEDIATELY goes into fight mode again, drawing back for a punch. "DAISY LYNN BEAUREGARD! YOU STOP THAT!" The old woman who took Annie away comes stomping out, aided by two other women to help hurry her alone. "Daisy! You just sit your butt down and stop acting a fool You hear me, young lady! You made our GUEST wast her gnosis on your foolishness!"
  104.
  105. That thing with the English and sassy old women? There's a moment when that scolding starts that Percy looks simultaneously like she might jump out of her /skin/ and also like she may be a little bit in love. That the girl draws back for a punch doesn't even make her flinch. This isn't her breed form - this has /never/ felt like her breed form - and any shiner she could leave won't last long. "Sometimes you've just gotta hit something," she acknowledges quietly, mostly to Daisy, but not so quiet that no one else could easily hear. "That's an okay thing to feel. Though a punching bag's usually the more responsible choice - or at least a willing sparring partner."
  106.
  107. George nods again with approval as Percy goes into motion and he goes back into silent watching. The arrival of the old woman gets George's attention and he listens a little wide eyed and more than a little impressed.
  108.
  109. Daisy's eyes go wide and she immediately drops that hand as she hears the old woman, who is just a kin, if you note her name tag. "Young lady, I am gonna TAN YOUR HIDE if I make it all the way over there without a heart attack!" The woman is approaching, laying into this poor girl like any old matron who loved her people would. She goes from yelling to grumbling as she gets closer. ".. ungrateful little brat. Let her work next to her father and THIS is what happens... put her up to it, probably... tan HIS hide too!" The girl sits up and scoots back a little bit, not punching Percy afterall. "Nana! You leave me alone, Nana!" 'Nana' shoos Percy aside. Garou or NOT, she's fixing this problem. "Get up here you little troublemaker." The girl gets to her feet and Nana reaches out and.. hugs the girl. FIERCELY. The girl struggles some, but not REALLY and Nana just holds on. She whispers something to the girl, who just immediately breaks down into hysterical sobs and falls to her knees. Nana pats her on the head. "You go on and cry now. Cry a whole darn river, little Daisy. Then when you're done cryin', you get your little butt up and you walk RIGHT back into that center and you take your punishment. You hear me, missy?" The girl covers her face and sits down, wailing hysterically still and Nana reaches out and pats Percy on the arm. "She's okay. She does this every couple of weeks. First time with Silver, though."
  110.
  111. George nods at the older lady with respect as he watches for where the knife wound up "Renombre a tu, Abuela, that was very well done. I really like it here."
  112.
  113. This... this is a level of just flat out intensity that's going to shellshock you no matter where you're at in life. For Percy, at least, it's a quiet kind of shock. She goes very still, kneeling there on the floor and watching the pain unfold in front of her. That pat on her arm is a good thing, enough to shake her out of whatever her own thoughts were and offer 'Nana' a soft little smile. "It's alright, ma'am. I'm glad I could help."
  114.
  115. The knife is still in the hand of the kin who took it from the girl. Nana just stands there, waiting for Daisy to finish her little break down. The lupus who tackled her gets a LOOK from Nana. "If it wasn't for her having Silver, I'd jerk a knot in your tail too, mister." The Garou sort of just hangs his head a little bit. There's no doubt who's REALLY in charge here, regardless of what name tags say. Percy gets a smile. "Sorry. I love my girls more than anything, even when they deserve the switch. I panicked. I didn't mean any disrespect to you." Daisy has tapered off into sniffles and the old woman offers out a wrinkled, gnarled old hand and Daisy takes it and gives it a squeeze and then slowly pushes herself up to her feet and starts to turn around. The old woman clears her throat and Daisy winces and pauses and turns to Percy. "Thank you for healing me and sorry I caused a fuss and wasted your gnosis." The girl really is pretty young. Beautiful for her young age in a little-girl-trying-to-look-older sort of way. She wipes her nose with the back of her hand and waits for a response before she starts to trudge up toward the detention center. "Sorry I kicked you in the balls, Billy." Billy pokes Daisy in the ribs. "I won't forget it, neither. Hurry up. Inside. Pretty sure you lost the rest of your outside time for the day, though." The girl looks up at Billy indignantly and POUTS, then STOMPS toward the detention center. She starts to zig off to one side, like she's going to bolt, and Billy reaches out and snatches her back to his side with an iron grip and marches her up inside.
  116.
  117. And Nana says to George, "Thank you, Elder."

  119. George nods at 'Nana' and smiles "I may have memory of having been a difficult child so I don't tend to judge the young too harshly. I am very impressed with you and your facility and will be sure to carry word back home of your people and the good work you do here."

  121. "You're very welcome," Percy answers back, quiet but with a warm smile for the youngster - and not for the first time feeling even older than she actually is. "I hope the rest of your day is better." Which is maybe a little more empathy than one might expect. "You gave neither disrespect or offense, ma'am. I'm glad to see the younger ones have someone like you in their corner."

  123. When they're gone, Nana nods to George. "We aren't really well known. Our services aren't needed a whole bunch. Usually people who get sent here are the lucky ones who aren't stomped to death or torn apart with rage because they're just TOO much." She sighs quietly and speaks up. "Poor girl lost her mama a year ago and she hasn't been right since. We've had nothing but trouble out of her, but she's starting to get better. NOw, if she had tried that in.. five years? Ten? Probably wouldn't be so gentle with her, but she's HURTING and we try to take that into consideration. THis place isn't perfect. Sometimes people get hurt. Sometimes people get actually locked up, but not before they've been THOROUGHLY Philodoxed and counselled. We've had a few get killed accidentally over the years, but that's a rare thing." She nods to Percy and gives her a smile. "I love my kids. All of them." She motions around the place. "Even the ones that drive me nuts sometimes." She motions to her assistants and they move forward to carefully help her hobble away.
