Dept Review with Sgt Garcia on 2/25/2020

[10:22] Chris Chun (chrisl222): Good morning, Sergeant. When you get a chance I would like to sit down with you and go over your current experience with the department, your level of training,  your thoughts on recent department changes, your opinions regarding myself and the command staff and any other comments you'd like to offer.
[10:24] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Awesome, I'd appreciate that, I have some concerns that I have seen regarding officers too, I see a lot through teh eyes of Chloe and I see things that make me go 0.0 dafuq
[10:26] Chris Chun (chrisl222): I look forward to hearing your thoughts and concerns. All will be held in the strictest of confidence in regards to anything negative you say about another officer or command staff member and of course there would never be any punishment for speaking your mind. I am trying to get a general consensus of the department for going forward.

[10:36] Chris Chun (chrisl222): Sounds good, lets start off with this: As a Sergeant do you feel you have properly been involved in the decision making of the department, and if not do you feel that Command Staff failed to include you in these discussions?
[10:38] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Yes and no, I feel if I had thrown myself into the fray a bit more rather than hold back and see how you personally do as Chief I probably would have been more involved.
[10:39] Chris Chun (chrisl222): Fair enough, what are your thoughts on me as a Chief? Mind you once again, I have very thick skin, and my geunine goal is to make this the best department I can for everyone involved so any feed back you have on my self be it IC related, OOC, however.
[10:41] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Honestly, I'm impressed, the only thing I'm not a fan of is addressing people by their rank, but that may just be me, I just feel that if you want people to be part of the team, make them feel part of it as a person, I don't mean any disrespect by that, it's probably just me and how I work
[10:45] Chris Chun (chrisl222): Understand, and if you dont mind me asking was that you who mentioned that in the survey? Someone did and I want to see if its multiple people with the same issue. By all means, you don't have to answer as the survey was anonymous.  But just to explain my reasoning, espiecally with supervisors such as yourself, I use the title to give respect. Having been an RL police officer these titles carry a lot of meaning for me and I place a lot of respect on them. And theres the added note that RL habits kick in, however, at least OOC I can make an effort to use names instead of position. I never wanted that to come off as disrespectful.

[10:53] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Ah got ya, well he got the LT position by using my answers from my interview because Ethan effed up and decided to do the interviews in local, I stood there and watched Barton use my exact answers only tweaked slightly, I've sat and watched him kiss Evie's arse and then Ethan's and now yours, the boy has no backbone and has not got the experience to be an effective supervisor
[10:54] Chris Chun (chrisl222): Would you like me to bring that up with him? If that is the case then there would be disciplinary action that follows.
[10:55] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): I mean you can, but right now I can't prove it because it was on a previous install of Firestorm
[10:56] Chris Chun (chrisl222): I'll be honest, not that I don't trust you or that I trust him more or anything like that but regardless of who was involved I couldn't make an actual disciplinary action based on anything without logs and you will see I hold that standard true throughout my entire career on secondlife. I can bring it up to him and see what he says but unless he admits to it, all I could do is warn him not to do it again.

I appreciate you bringing this to my knowledge. Continuing on, what would you have done differently or what would you change if you were in my shoes?
[11:07] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Right now, nothing that I can think of, you're doing great as far as I can see, the roster update is fantastic, but the dark blue against black is hard to read, the vehicle policy may annoy some people, but I like it
[11:08] Chris Chun (chrisl222): I agree, I knew there would be some that won't like the vehicle policy however I do want some uniformity with my Officers rolling up. I want people to know exactly who in what division is talking easily based on the call sign and for an officer to have a good idea what type of Officer is pulling up based on their vehicle.

[11:20] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Because Chloe who is an active little shit on the estate is my RL fiancee, so I see what individual officers do

[11:22] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Now, I saw the K9 manual be released which I love, I LOVE manuals because they are something I tend to remember and can point out to people, such as a particular K9 cop using their K9 to intimidate an unarmed minor without the need for it, nor did the cop use the proper procedure for it
[11:24] Chris Chun (chrisl222): I will say, I have failed the K9 unit with hands on training. Coming into the department I threw together a manual to give them a basis to go on before I had time to spend with each team. Having been RL K9 I have a special love for it and I have failed to ensure they are properly trained which is going to be a major focus over the next couple days.
[11:27] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): Ok going back to what would I change, I guess I would start anew with it, I don't think certain cops are fit to be K9 cops and I don't think some K9 RPers are fit to play as dogs, I also think that the breeds of dogs needs to be regulated, because one of teh K9s is a wolf/wolf hybrid
[11:27] Chris Chun (chrisl222): That is being dealt with specifically. You make a good point there, that was a lapse of judgment I made.

[11:30] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): As for other changes, I'm not sure really, I know where my goals are and that's really it, but from Chloe's perspective, she's very very much a fan of Delgado, he's spot on, brilliant. her only other concerns are something that was brought up at the town meeting and is something you have started to address, the use of force, countless times she's had a gun drawn on her as an unarmed small teenager
[11:32] Chris Chun (chrisl222): I agree and thats definitely something we are working on. Partially my fault because I began regularly engaging with them and it naturally escalated. Any last thoughts?
[11:33] Gabriel 'Star' Garcia (dickie200951): One last thing I'd like to request, can you swap Kali into my squad, she works better under me than anyone else, mainly because I've known her for so long and I can work around her language barriers
