  1. Maren Bohn was born in the small town of Appleedge. A missable farming community to the north. Known only merchants and the people who lived there, it was a quiet life. His father worked as a labourer at an orchid, while his mother was a servant for the local Baron. His young adult life, Maren's father tried to steer him into his footsteps, and live a simple, yet sufficient life. But even then young Maren knew this was not the life for him.

  3. His uncle on his mothers side, an outlander named Bruno, had made a name for himself locally after ousting a nearby necromancer, and claiming the riches for himself. But rather than retire and live a luxurious life, he used the money to aid the community, and attract musicians to awaken this sleepy hamlet. Inspired by the tales, that quickly grew ever larger by the day, Maren knew this was his way to a greater life.

  5. Eventually, he met Towi Windspirit, a flighty young bard set on seeing the entire world. She showed young Maren magic, something that he had never seen up close before, and his father had deeply warned him against. She could make all the candles in a room snuff out with a word, lift a mans purse from his pocket from thirty feet, and make the walls themselves sing. Maren realized this was his calling in life, and left his quiet life behind and devoted the next month to learning and training with Towi as they wandered the countryside. At first she was very enthusiastic to train him, and Maren was the best student one could ask for. He remembered all that was said, he read and read and read, more than was feasible for sleep to allow. After weeks of attempting to use magic resulting in nothing, it became readily obvious that Maren could not perform magic like his Bardic teacher could.

  7. Feeling distraught at the realization, and knowing he had learned all he could from his friend Maren set out into the world on his own. Every town he came across, he would dive deep into any local magics, at first he tried learning from others. Practicing with priests of Desna and Sarenrae, studying with the Hermits of the Deep Wood, and even at one point enrolling into a local magical academy, that seemed more like a scam than a real school, but he was desperate. a few weeks later, with no results, Maren stole what few scrolls he could get his hands on and fled the city. Months and years went by in this manner, as Maren became more and more frantic to find his Spark. The final piece of knowledge that would unlock him to the limitless potential just out of his reach.

  9. Thinking that perhaps the knowledge of the living was insufficient, he began hunting through lost locations. He traveled to the Burial Cairns of the Severed Ear Orcs, where he stumbled upon a hidden room. Inside was a locked sarcophagus decorated differently than the rest of the tomb. Depicting a giant with a single eye in the center of its head towering over a gathering of humans. Inside was the skeleton of a Cyclops, with a small pink prism resting beside the head. Picking the oject up, he saw a deep crack in the side. Putting the item up to his head, he felt a touch of resistance in his fingers, and let go instinctively, but instead of dropping to the ground, it hung in the air. With a flash, his eyes were open. He knew. This was the object of his search. What he had spent nearly half his living life looking for. Rifling through his posessions, he found the scroll he was searching for. As he looked at the jumble of arcane writing, they began to rearange themselves. Muttering what he saw, the words jumped into his head like a physically realized idea. Saying the final few words, he launched a bolt of lightning into the sky. He had done it, the search was over.

  11. He then set out to find his old friend again. he set out to (name of town) hearing that there was to be a competition that surely would attract a few storytellers and musicians.
