  122. ELASTIC SEARCH:-
  123. ================
  124.
  125. The completely Open Source software allows a whole variety of services like collecting data, searching and analyzing it, as well as visualizing it in real time.
  126.
  127. I like Kibana product since it allows you to visualize your data and create custom dashboards that are very handy.
  128.
  129. The cloud hosted service has limits on the data that can be uploaded at any time. Wish they could do away with that.
  130.
  131. I think its a great tool for all tech firms that have large volumes of data that they need to process and log.
  132. ---------------------------------------------------------------
  133. Cloudera Big Data:-
  134. ===================
  135.
  136. The fact the Cloudera offers an open source distribution for Apache Hadoop makes it a strong favorite. It makes switching to different versions much easier.
  137.
  138. Cloudera's proprietary Management Suite, has nice features like wizard-based deployment which simplifies capacity and expansion planning.
  139.
  140. If the company can remove single points of failures in a distributed environment that'll be great.
  141.
  142. I think its a wonderful product and the company offers real great deals on training and certification.
  143. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  144. Microsoft BI:-
  145. ==============
  146.
  147. We prefer Microsoft BI platform due to its easy integration with Microsoft Office suite.
  148.
  149. By using the Power Pivot and Power View it has enabled us to access and mash up data from a variety of sources. Plus it can easily be shared with other users through simple Office applications
  150.
  151. The implementation time for Microsoft BI can be fairly lengthy. Its definitely longer than some of the other products we evaluated.
  152.
  153. Its a great tool that offers full benefits of self-service BI with very little need for interaction with IT department.
  154. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  155. Joomla Content Management:-
  156. ===========================
  157.
  158. Joomla is easier to use than Drupal and has more advanced features than WordPress.
  159.
  160. Joomla works well as a community platform and presents great social integration features.
  161. Websites run atop of Joomla get out of the box mobile compatibility.
  162.
  163. It is more complex than Drupal and it makes it harder to copy/paste content straight from Word Documents.
  164. Some of the common plugins do not work well with Joomla, Copying and pasting content straight out of Word documents can be problematic at times.
  165.
  166. Its a great middle of the road software that lets you build fairly complex web applications including e-commerce sites.
  167. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  168. LeapFile:-
  169. ==========
  170.
  171. LeapFile is unique in that all file transfers are encrypted and that recipient authentication required for file download.
  172.
  173. LeapFile integrates easily with Microsoft Outlook so file transfer can be easily used with that email client.
  174.
  175. The virus checks sometimes incorrectly flag .zip files to contain malware content.
  176.
  177. I think its a great tool that provides complete visibility into delivered files which is useful for audit purposes.
  178. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  179. Microsoft Collaboration:-
  180. =========================
  181.
  182. Microsoft already has the market lead in terms of productivity software for enterprises through its Office suite. So its collaboration tools like Yammer and Sharepoint build easily on top of that.
  183.
  184. I like how Skype for business integrates with Outlook to send instant chat messages as well as voice calling.
  185.
  186. There are too many collaborative tools from Microsoft and they have overlapping concerns. The whole suite is kind of ambiguous and clouded.
  187.
  188. I think if Microsoft consolidates its offerings into a single product that would be really helpful for clients.
  189. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  190. SurveyAnalytics:-
  191. =================
  192.
  193. Survey Analytics offers a whole suite of interconnected and easy-to-use information collection and analysis tools that are more advanced in their scope in comparison to Survey Monkey.
  194.
  195. I really like the iPhone app which helps view real time data coming back from dispatched surveys.
  196.
  197. I would like if the company offered slightly cheaper licenses for smaller enterprises. Additionally the company doesn't offer integration with MailChimp.
  198.
  199. SurveyAnalytics makes it really easy to conduct consumer research and create meaningful reports on top of that.
  200. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  201. IBM Infosphere Master Data Management:-
  202. =======================================
  203.
  204. We went with IBM after reviewing the product through Gartner Research. They had listed it as top product in terms of execution. We have found it to be very reliant so far.
  205.
  206. IBM's out of the box services and processes are really extensive. IBM offers easier configuration capabilities than Informatica so its implementation is easier.
  207.
  208. IBM's MDM is not exactly true multi-domain platform since it sells separate hubs for different data source integration.
  209.
  210. The selection of the product mainly depends on the individual company's use case. For banking sector generally IBM is more reliant and preferred.
  211. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  212. Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition:-
  213. ===========================================
  214.
  215. One major difference between Oracle and Informatica is that Oracle is a an ELT tool whereas Informatica is an ETL process. This helps Oracle product reduce the load on the ETL server and in turn the cost of the server.
  216.
  217. Oracle Integrator offers a good Restart Ability from the Point of Failure. This reduces the reprocessing of the similar data, and in turn reduces the overall load window.
  218.
  219. ODI is not presently offering the capability to partition the target tables when data volumes are high.
  220.
  221. I think its a vert useful tool that along with Oracle Golden Gate product can provide live transactional data across heterogeneous environments.
  222. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  223. Informatica Data Quality:-
  224. ==========================
  225.
  226. In comparison to the Trillium TS Quality, Informatica is by far the industry leader and is ideal for integrating various business systems.
  227. We like the IDQ interface the way it looks for developer to work and identify the functions in an easy manner. Additionally the product is completely cloud based.
  228.
  229. Sometimes the UI is slow in the browser and the product is not currently offering job Archival facility.
  230.
  231.
  232. Informatica is fairly easy to pickup with a little knowledge of SQL. It is expensive but a top quality product.
  233. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  234. Salesforce App cloud:-
  235. ======================
  236.
  237. In comparison to Amazon's AWS, Salesforce offers a lot more features for developers. Also the speed to develop an application on the force platform is very quick.
  238.
  239. By leveraging Salesforce out of the box features, with a relatively small amount of customization you can get a basic application running in a matter of minutes or hours. This reduces the turn around time for our application greatly.
  240.
  241. The cloud environment places limits on lots of parameters like CPU time, query result size, query statements, it goes on. Bumping into these limits is frustrating but there are ways to get around them occasionally.
  242.
  243. Salesforce and its mobile version are the market leaders when it comes to CRM technology. The ease of use and convenience make a great case for this tool.
  244. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  245. Riverbed SteelCentral APM Review:-
  246. ==================================
  247.
  248. Previously Nagios was used by our IT department to monitor servers and services across the agency. We currently monitor 100 virtual machines and 60 domain controllers. SteelCentral is much better at diagnosing problems than Nagios.
  249.
  250. With Riverbed you can diagnose application performance problems down to the offending code, SQL, web service, network, or system resource.
  251.
  252. Their product NetProfiler which captures packets and analyzes traffic as it traverses the network generally tends to give more false positives.
  253.
  254. Its a great tool since it lets extending visibility to the end user which is critical when troubleshooting performance issues, and the software can view transactions -- from end to end --through an application perspective.
  255. Its a wonderful tool that has allowed to fix problems like Java out of memory exceptions that kept plaguing our systems.
  256. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  257. Oracle Enterprise Manager Review:-
  258. ==================================
  259.
  260. It is the first tool that allows an administrator to provision, patch and monitor an entire application stack. From the Network to the Application itself, you can manage the entire environment.
  261.
  262. I am using it for my current project and like how you can manage the databases without much knowledge of SQL. It is useful to manage oracle application server and third party software packages from different companies.
  263.
  264. They currently lack plugins to third party software.
  265.
  266. OEM is an excellent product and it helps us identity problematic queries or performance issues before they impact our users.
  267. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  268. Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite Review:-
  269. ============================================
  270.
  271. Microsoft's Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) is a multi-component package that has all the tools needed for MDM. This is hard to find in other competitors products.
  272.
  273. The product allows us to securely manage apps and data on iOS, Android, and Windows from one place.
  274.
  275. The current version of the product lacks geo-fencing or advanced location based services (LBS).
  276.
  277. I think this is a great mobile device management suite that has a strong focus on security.
  278. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  279. TeamViewer Review:-
  280. ===================
  281.
  282. We like this tool since it is extremely painless to set up. No port forwarding configurations are necessary for this to run.
  283.
  284. We have often used it for our teleconferencing. TeamViewer allows two users to switch which computer has control of the other making collaboration very easy.
  285.
  286. The corporate version that we are evaluating does not have IP or PC blocking. So there is some security vulnerability with that.
  287.
  288. TeamViewer works perfectly on multiple platforms like PC, Linux, Mac. One cool feature is that it allows remote sessions to be recorded to a video file so you can easily review them later.
  289. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  290. Amazon Web Services Cloud:-
  291. ===========================
  292.
  293. Amazon offers a private secure cloud for your organization's services. It is easy to manage the whole cloud through Amazon Management Console.
  294.
  295. One of the main features that drew us towards using it was the ability to scale up and down to meet our global clients' seasonal demands.
  296.
  297. The prices for this service can be fairly exorbitant. Also the Amazon technical support is sometimes slow to respond to your requests.
  298.
  299. Amazon Web Services houses and helps us manage our development and production level services. Its so much better than hosting your own servers and finding the right staff to support them.
  300. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  301. Spiceworks IT Help Desk:-
  302. =========================
  303.
  304. Help desk ticketing is a breeze using Spiceworks. It has a comprehensive case management module. With additional plug ins to support just about anything you want to do.
  305.
  306. The software allows my team to quantify their daily workload and predict heightened workload based on trends and work history.
  307.
  308. The search module could be improved. Where there are a lot of work orders in the system, it can be hard to distinguish between open and closed items. Also its sometimes hard to delete multiple tickets from the helpdesk menu.
  309.
  310. If you're a Small or Medium Business and your budget for IT is short then Spiceworks for a ticketing system is right for you.
  311. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  312. Google Vault Review:-
  313. =====================
  314.
  315. Google vault is ideal if you are already using google's enterprise services for email and drive. It has easy integration with their cloud infrastructure.
  316.
  317. it offers archiving with retention rules that dictate how long the data is preserved before being removed permanently.
  318.
  319. When google transitioned away from Google voice, there were transactions lost while switching over to Hangouts.
  320.
  321. The tool is perfect for advanced searching and quick retrieval of records across multiple file types. I would highly recommend it for a Google shop.
  322. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  323. Google GWT Review:-
  324. ===================
  325.
  326. Google GWT is the best framework for writing out code in pure Java and then relying on the GWT compiler to translate it into JavaScript.
  327.
  328. I like how the product has a huge library of customizable widgets that can be easily incorporated into a web app.
  329.
  330. The compilation process for converting Java into JS can be extremely sluggish at times. It gets even slower depending on the project complexity.
  331.
  332. I think its a great web development framework for IT companies that are looking for mid sized applications that require a rich user experience.
  333. -----------------------------------------------------------------
  334. Google Hangouts Review:-
  335. ========================
  336.
  337. One of the most attractive features of the tool is its easy integration with existing Google services. It has a great PC client as well as mobile app.
  338.
  339. I like how during video conferencing, the main focus of the display shifts to the individual speaking. It makes for a better user experience.
  340.
  341. There's not much to really dislike about the product. However, sometimes the video quality becomes really poor when the bandwidth is low.
  342.
  343. Its a great app, that people can use even for free. Its got a small footprint and can handle multiple people video chat, pretty seamlessly.

  345. Github Review:-
  346. ========================
  347.
  348. In our evaluation for a source control management solution we evaluated Bitbucket and Github. We proceeded with Github even though the licensing is slightly more expensive. The reason was that it had a higher service availability rating and provided Single Sign on authentication through One Login.
  349.
  350. Github is the best code repository system for Git VCS. It allows you to recover deleted code branches as well.
  351.
  352. We have run into several issues with Circle CI integration. The Github page for a pull request does not automatically update when the Circle CI processes finish successfully.
  353.
  354. I think its ideal for online code hosting. Its inline editing features are very helpful as well.
  355.
  356.
  357. ------------------------------------------------------------------
  358.
  359.
  360. Does not have many enterprise features.
  361.
  362. Feature rich, but expensive.
  363.
  364. The product lacks mobile compatibility.
  365.
  366. can become slow and unresponsive sometimes
  367.
  368. Great product, go for it.
  369.
  370. Ease of use and customization.
  371.
  372. Has easy online help.
  373.
  374. Is fast and responsive.
  375.
  376. Has great UI features.
  377.
  378. Excellent product
  379.
  380. Licensing process can be quite cumbersome
  381.
  382. User authentication is slow.
  383.
  384. Great functionality
  385.
  386. Easy to use, but a bit pricey.
  387.
  388. Excellent Software
  389.
  390. I haven't used many other similar products.
  391.
  392. It has lots of great features.
  393.
  394. The product itself is really great but the learning curve is steep.
  395.
  396. It is very easily customizable.
  397.
  398. Customization really adds value to this product.
  399.
  400. The product is intuitive and easy to learn.
  401.
  402. There are other better products out there, but this one is not too pricey.
  403.
  404. Its a nice cheap product, that delivers what it promises.
  405.
  406. The product comes with regular feature updates that are very beneficial.
  407.
  408. there are sometimes connectivity issues reported by users.
  409.
  410. The advanced features on the project are really hard to execute.
  411.
  412. I think its a nice cheap product, but there might be better ones out there for larger enterprises.
  413.
  414. I think its a fairly useful tool in developing insights into the customer behavior and retention.
  415.
  416. This product is not as extensive as some other available on the market but still does its job well.
  417.
  418. I think it adds a lot to business process and improves cross team collaboration.
  419.
  420. I think it adds a lot to business process and automates a lot of business processes.
  421.
  422. Has robust data backup and search functionality.
  423.
  424. requires a lot of technical expertise to tweak its back-end functionality.
  425.
  426. As part of a whole suite of Oracle HR products, this one works pretty well.
  427.
  428. Its data integration with other products is really seamless.
  429.
  430. This product is very comprehensive and targets HR management specifically.
  431.
  432. This is a very comprehensive product that incorporates a lot of business workflow in a easy manner.
  433.
  434. This is probably the leading product out there in its category. It is very feature rich.
  435.
  436. This company provides very good after sales coverage and support.
  437.
  438. Since I haven't used other similar products I can say that this one is not too pricey and provides a wide array of features.
  439.
  440. The fact that it can handle very large amounts of data and return results in a timely fashion is amazing.
  441.
  442. Some of the querying syntax for reading log files can be very complex.
  443.
  444. I think for organizations that need to parse large log data sets this tool is very beneficial.
  445.
  446. I think this is a really advanced tool that can add a lot of business value if you are dealing with massive data.
  447.
  448. The product does not offer multi factor authentication right out of the box.
  449.
  450. It is useful for mass email marketing campaigns.
  451.
  452. Its a nice business analytics tool that will bring good value for e-commerce enterprises.
  453.
  454. I would rate it five stars if its mobile customizations were improved.
  455.
  456. The on-boarding process can be completed easily via online training videos and quizzes.
  457.
  458. I think its a useful tool to have in the HR armory.
  459.
  460. Sometimes applicants struggle with the online document conversion tool that the site offers.
  461.
  462. Tableau has the advantage of performing data cleanup during the ETL transformation.
  463.
  464. The data dashboards do not have clear group privileges so they can't be rendered for different users correctly.
  465.
  466. In my opinion its a useful BI tool that provides good data reporting
  467.
  468. Their marketing models are top notch and provide greater insights into consumer habits.
  469.
  470. The fact that it provides marketing intelligence based on social data makes it superior to legacy marketing tools.
  471.
  472. Great product for companies that have customer base spread globally.
  473.
  474. It allows us to update our internal CRM with accurate customer demographic data.
  475.
  476. So far the product has lived up to our expectations. However, we would appreciate if the company offers better rates for multi year licensing.
