Reasoning: People are about to be kidnapped and Levi is trying to get revenge on his fellow human. Afterimage strike would allow Levi to fight for longer and perhaps stop the inevitable. Levi has also been seen to be a half-yokai, one which takes from his alien side, so an afterimage, being a simple skill, would give him just the slightest of edges to possibly win in this situation.

Moment: Levi, Amatsu and Toshikata, are trying to fight off Shirohebi no Orochi when she proves to be too much for the three of them and is now trying to kidnap one of them. Unforgivable, not only do they not honor a human's death, they try to take the bodies and now to try and take a human body? Levi couldn't already forgive the yokais for what they did with his family and now...they are poking at it. It is about time that those yokais get shown their place.
