Game of Thrones - Season 5 Episode-By-Episode Fan Planning

*****SPOILERS, OBVI.*******

These projections are based on announced casting and the TV  producers' known desire to keep the number of characters and settings to a minimum and the show to 7 seasons. It also subscribes to a certain tinfoil theory about who Daario really is.

Places on the map:

1. Meereen: Dany and her court. Then her suitors later.
2. King's Landing: The Lannisters, The Tyrells, and the High Sparrow.
3. Sunspear: The Martells, Ellaria, the Sand Snakes, and briefly Jaime.
4. Pyke: Euron and Asha Greyjoy.
5. Braavos: Arya, then Sam and Gilly (and maybe Janos Slynt).
6. Pentos + River Rhoyne: Tyrion and Varys.
7. Volantis: Tyrion, Varys, and Jorah.
9. The Eyrie: Sansa and Littlefinger. Brienne and Pod.
10. Winterfell: The Boltons, Reek, and later Tormund.
11. The Wall: Jon, the Wildlings, and Stannis and his court.
12. The Heart Tree: Bran, Hodor, Meera, and Bloodraven. (may be combined with The Wall)

Major characters introduced: Doran and Trystane Martell. The Sand Snakes. Septa Lemore. The High Sparrow. Euron Greyjoy (who is really Daario Naharis). The Waif.

Major characters cut: Arianne Martell (replaced by Ellaria Sand and Trystane), Quentyn Martell (replaced by Trystane), Griff, Young Griff, Aeron Greyjoy, Victarion Greyjoy (replaced by Euron), Lady Stoneheart (and the Brotherhood), The Tullys, The Kindly Man (replaced by Jaqen H'ghar's face), Wyman Manderly, Kevan Lannister, Penny.

Deviations from the books:
* Mace Tyrell is the Hand, not Kevan Lannister.
* Euron takes the place of Victarion.
* Varys is with Tyrion through Volantis.
* Trystane takes Quentyn's place in Meereen.
* No Riverlands plot. No Lady Stoneheart. Brienne, Pod, and Jaime meet in the Eyrie instead.
* Tormund goes to Winterfell instead of Rattleshirt/Mance.
* No Davos + Wyman Manderly meeting. Davos could be sent to find Rickon by Stannis after the Battle of Winterfell.


5x01:
* King's Landing: Cersei assumes power. We meet the High Sparrow. Tommen names Mace Tyrell the Hand at Margaery's urging.
* Meereen: Dany learns about the Sons of the Harpy. Drogon is still killing innocents.
* Braavos: Arya arrives, finds the House of Black and White. A Faceless Man who looks like Jaqen is waiting for her.
* Pentos: Tyrion and Varys arrive at Illyrio's.
* Sunspear: Ellaria Sand returns to Dorne, meets with Doran, Trystane, and the Sand Snakes. Re-introduction of Myrcella.
* The Eyrie: Littlefinger and Sansa begin their tour of the Vale.
* The Heart Tree: Bran learns about Greensight. Sees Balon Greyjoy get killed.
* The Wall: Jon is offered Winterfell. Has an encounter with Melisandre.


5x02:
* Pyke: Yara returns and hears about her father's death. Euron arrives as well with 93 ships. The Ironborn are impressed by the fleet Euron captured while in Essos.
* Winterfell: The Boltons and Reek settle in at Winterfell, receive a raven from Stannis.
* The Eyrie: Brienne and Pod continue looking for Sansa.
* Dorne: Ellaria, Trystane, and the Sand Snakes plot to install Myrcella.
* King's Landing: Jaime is sent off to Sunspear with The Mountain's head after a sternly-worded raven from Dorne. Tommen pushes to marry Margaery. Cersei figures out how to control Mace Tyrell.
* Pentos: Tyrion and Varys start down the Rhoyne, meet the Septa Lemore on the boat.
* The Wall: The episode ends with Jon elected as Lord Commander.


5x03:
* Pyke: Kingsmoot takes place. Yara loses. Euron emerges as king.
* The Wall: Jon sends off Sam, Gilly, and Janos Slynt to Old Town with Aemon. Stannis receives a visitor from the Iron Bank.
* Rhoyne: Tyrion tries to seduce Septa Lemore.
* Dorne: Ellaria (or a Sand Snake) successfully seduces Aerys Oakheart.
* Braavos: Arya begins her training.
* Meereen: Dany is counseled to marry Hizdahr.
* Winterfell: The arrival of "Arya Stark". The Boltons send a raven to the Wall announcing their intentions.


5x04:
* Pyke: Euron sets off for Meereen with his fleet of 93 ships from Essos plus the Iron Fleet. His fleet is huge.
* Meereen: More killings by the Sons of the Harpy.
* Sunspear: The Sand Snakes and Trystane try to install Princess Myrcella as queen. Oakheart dies.
* The Heart Tree: Bran sees a flashback of Cersei and Maggy the Frog.
* King's Landing: Cersei gets Margaery imprisoned just as Tommen is expecting to marry her.
* The Eyrie: Sansa realizes she meets the Hound posing as a grave digger.
* The Wall: Jon saves Shireen from Melisandre, offers up Mance for sacrifice instead. Mance is burned to death.
* Winterfell: Ramsay marries "Arya".


5x05:
* Rhoyne: Tyrion has a scary encounter with the stone men.
* Braavos: Arya is now Cat of the Canals.
* Sunspear: Ellaria and Sand Snakes are imprisoned. Jaime arrives with the Mountain's head. Sees Myrcella's condition. Drama ensues.
* The Eyrie: Brienne and Pod realize Sansa is traveling with Littlefinger and Robin Arryn.
* Meereen: Dany marries Hizdahr.
* The Wall: Stannis sets off for Winterfell.
* King's Landing: Cersei and the High Sparrow are not getting along.


5x06:
* Volantis: Jorah captures Tyrion in a brothel. Euron lands in Volantis to resupply. He takes them as hostages and they catch a ride to Meereen with his fleet. Varys realizes he's lost Tyrion, leaves the city to go back to Westeros.
* Braavos: Sam stumbles into Arya. Later, Arya runs into a deserting Janos Slynt. Gives him the gift.
* Sunspear: Jaime takes Myrcella back to King's Landing. Realizing his lost alliance with the Lannisters, Doran sends a heartbroken Trystane to Meereen to win Dany as his new queen.
* The Eyrie: Littlefinger kills Robin Arryn, assumes power over the Vale.
* Winterfell: Stannis gets caught in a blizzard hundreds of miles from Winterfell.
* The Wall:  Jon cuts a deal with Tormund. Jon shelters the Wildlings if Tormund and a small crew follow Stannis's army to get "Arya" back from Winterfell.


5x07:
* Braavos: Jaqen blinds Arya, then gets on Sam's boat to Oldtown.
* Winterfell: Tormund gets in front of Stannis' army and arrives outside the walls. Inside the walls, Bolton men are killing each other.
* The Wall: The Wildlings take shelter on the safer side of the Wall. Brothers are not happy with Jon.
* King's Landing: Cersei is thrown in prison by the High Sparrow while Margaery is released. Jaime returns with Myrcella. Tommen (and the Tyrells) send him away to deal with Littlefinger in The Eyrie.
* The Heart Tree: Bran becomes more powerful, develops more greensight.
* The Eyrie: Brienne convinces Littlefinger that she will serve him and Sansa.
* Meereen: Dany grudgingly accepts the opening of the fighting pits.


5x08:
* Meereen: Tyrion and Jorah land in Meereen, escape Euron by selling themselves to a slaver. Trystane arrives separately. Yunkai's army surrounds Meereen.
* Winterfell: Tormund and his band infiltrate Winterfell, sew seeds of chaos.
* Braavos: Arya dreams as Nymeria.
* The Heart Tree: Bran dreams as Nymeria too, feels Arya's presence.
* King's Landing: Cersei refuses to confess to the High Sparrow. Mace (influenced heavily by Margaery) starts doing a good job as Hand.


5x09:
* Winterfell: The Battle of Winterfell begins. Ramsay Bolton sends the pink letter in the middle of the battle. Reek gives his life so "Arya" can escape with Tormund.
* Braavos: The Waif grants Arya her sight back. Arya's first assignment.
* The Eyrie: Jaime arrives and sees Sansa and Brienne with Littlefinger.
*  The Wall: The Night's Watch continues to be unhappy with Jon Snow. Even Dolorous Edd.
* Meereen: Trystane meets with Dany, gets rebuffed. The episode ends with Dany flying out of the fighting pit on Drogon's back.


5x10:
* Meereen: Trystane naively tries to steal a dragon. Jorah and Tyrion get recaptured by Euron and are drafted into the Second Sons. Dany stumbles upon a khalasar in the Dothraki Sea.
* Oldtown: Sam and Gilly arrive. Jaqen changes faces to a maester.
* Winterfell: Stannis takes Winterfell from the Boltons. Bran helps in some supernatural way.
* The Wall: Jon receives the pink letter. Gets stabbed.
* The Eyrie: Brienne kills Jaime to protect Sansa.
* King's Landing: Cersei's walk of shame. Winter comes for Pycelle and Mace Tyrell.
