  1. 3DS HACKING: YOU MUST BE LITERALLY RETARDED EDITION
  2.
  3. (last edited March 6th 2016 - Replaced all mentions of RxTools with ReiNAND and mentions of FBI to DevMenu; Removed BlargSNES and FBI tutorials; Replaced FBI injection with DevMenu injection; Added Cryptofixing tutorial)
  4.
  5. I'm tired of you dumb fucks, so I'm making a guide that can't possibly be any simpler.
  6. If you can't follow this, just give up.
  7.
  8. If you are here because you have an error/problem, skip to section f - Error Fixes.
  9.
  10.
  11. !!!!!!!!!! WARNING !!!!!!!!!!
  12.
  13. This works with both Old and New 3DS, but because ReiNand is New 3DS only, use the Mod AuReiNand on Old 3DS (https://github.com/AuroraWright/AuReiNand/releases).
  14.
  15. 10.4 IS OUT

  41.
  42.
  43. =============================================
  44. a - The Very Begining (Baby's First Exploit)
  45. =============================================
  46.
  47. If you already have access to the homebrew launcher via menuhax, you can skip this step.
  48. If you don't have menuhax but do have access to the Homebrew Launcher via the browser, load Homebrew Launcher and skip to step 12.
  49.
  50. 1) Download this: https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip
  51. 2) Extract it
  52. 3) Place everything in the root of your SD card. Make a copy of your SD card nd save it to your PC. Keep it safe.
  53. 4) Place the SD card back into your 3DS
  54. 5) Turn on the 3DS
  55. 6) Press L + R to get into the camera
  56. 7) Tap the QR button above the quit button (botom left of the screen)
  57. 8) Open this website in your PC's browser: http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php
  58. 9) Scan the QR code and open the link in the 3DS browser
  59. 10) Once it loads, if nothing happens then zoom in on the bottom screen and you will see a slider at the top left
  60. 11) Tap the far left side of the slider and the homebrew launcher should start
  61.
  62. This method is pretty unstable. It will NOT work 100% of the time. If it freezes on a yellow screen then restart and keep trying.
  63. Apparently doing things like clearing your cookies and cache in your browser helps, so try that if it's still not working.
  64.
  65. If you can't get into the broswer at all (9.9-10.2 version) then you will need another way to run the hb launcher.
  66. Your options for this are ninjahax or oot3d and a powersaves dongle (or another hacked 3DS, you need a way to load the hax save file).
  67. If you don't have any of those, then you are fucked, sorry.
  68.
  69. Once you are at the Homebrew Launcher's main menu, you're going to want to install "menuhax".
  70. This will launch the Homebrew Launcher whenever you turn on the console and hold the L button.
  71. It's still not 100% working every time, but it's a hell of a lot better than going into the browser every time.
  72.
  73. 12) Open Menuhax Manager
  74. 13) Press A when "Install" is selected (use up/down on the dpad to change selection)
  75. 14) You have now installed your first exploit!
  76.
  77. Now, whenever you turn on your console, if you hold the L button menuhax will be activated and you will launch into the Homebrew Launcher.
  78.
  79. If you want menuhax to boot automatically without holding L then select "Change trigger" in the Menuhax Manager.
  80. Then read their descriptions and choose the type you want. Hold down your prefered "trigger" buttons and tap the touch screen.
  81. Personally I boot into menuhax autometically, and my trigger is X which will stop menuhax from loading, and therefore boot to sysNAND.
  82. It's all up to you though. Throughout this guide I will assume you kept the default options, so keep that in mind.
  83.
  84.
  85. =======================================
  86. b - Downgrading to 9.2 (from 9.3-10.3)
  87. =======================================
  88.
  89. This step is for downgrading to the latest safe firmware (which is 9.2).
  90.
  91. 1) Download one of these from this link: https://mega.nz/#F!IApGwLJL!kYHL5jMlDfd0rmn6a8DaFw (O3DS ONLY, ASK FOR N3DS ON THE VOLAFILE)
  92. America (USA) - 9.2.0-20U(Full).zip
  93. Europe (EUR) - 9.2.0-20E(Full).zip
  94. Japan (JAP) - 9.2.0-20J(Full).zip
  95. 2) Extract the zip. Place the "updates" folder in the root of your SD card.
  96.
  97. REALLY IMPORTANT: If you are using the Japanese version, go into the updates folder and delete this file: 000400102002CA00.cia
  98. IF YOU DON'T THEN YOUR 3DS WILL BRICK. DO FUCKING DO IT.
  99. ALSO: MAKE SURE YOUR UPDATE CIAs ARE FOR YOU SYSTEM REVISION (New or Old)
  100.
  101. 3) Download this: puu.sh/mkn9B.zip
  102. 4) Inside the "3ds" folder on your SD card, make a folder called "sysUpdater"
  103. 5) Put all of the files inside the zip file you just downloaded inside the sysUpdater folder
  104.
  105. I'm assuming you don't have tubehax DNS installed. If you do, remove it. If you have no idea what I just said, you can continue.
  106.
  107. 6) Put the SD card back into your 3DS
  108. 7) Load into Homebrew Laucher (hold L while turning the console on)
  109. 8) Scroll down and select "sysUpdater"
  110. 9) You should see this menu (https://i.imgur.com/vRN5jWZ.jpg) or one very similar to it
  111. 10) Press Y to downgrade
  112.
  113. The program should begin installing the update files you put in your SD card on step 2.
  114. If this doesn't happen, wait a minute. If it still doesn't happen, press Y again.
  115. If it still doesn't happen, press B to exit.
  116. If you're still on the same menu, then it froze. Hold the power button to turn off the console and start again from step 7.
  117.
  118. 11) Once the system has downgraded it will say this: "Updates installed. Rebooting in 10 seconds..."
  119. 12) Leave the system for 5 minutes, it should reboot on it's own
  120. 13) If it doesn't, remove your SD card and wait another 2-3 minutes
  121. 14) If it still hasn't rebooted, or it is constantly rebooting, turn off the console.
  122. 15) Place the SD card back inside and turn the console back on.
  123.
  124. You're done! You should now be on version 9.2. Go into the System Settings to make sure it says 9.2 and not whatever version you were on before. You may find that menuhax no longer works, if this is the case, you need to go back into browserhax and reinstall menuhax (follow part a from 5 to 14 again)
  125.
  126. If you got an error on your reboot, you're semi-bricked. EDIT: Since 10.4 is out, you're fucked. To get your 3DS working again you have to load into recovery mode (A+R+L+Up on boot) and update your 3DS to 10.4. I'm so so sorry.
  127.
  128. If you can't boot system settings/web browser, you're on frankenfirmware. You must use Cubic Ninja or OOT3D Hax (google these) to get back into the HBL and continue the downgrade. If you can't, you're fucked.
  129.
  130. =============================================================
  131. c - Creating an EmuNAND and Installing Custom Firmware (CFW)
  132. =============================================================
  133.
  134. In this step you will be creating an EmuNAND. I've tried my best to remove all jargon from this guide, but this is pretty important so let me quickly explain. If you don't care why we do things and just want to do them, skip the paragraph below.
  135.
  136. There are two types of NAND. sysNAND and emuNAND. These are basically the software that the 3DS runs on.
  137. sysNAND is what you've always booted into. It's just the default 3DS software.
  138. emuNAND is a copy of sysNAND. It's the same thing except it's stored on your SD card rather than the 3DS hardware.
  139. What this means is that you can make changes to the emuNAND (install games, add custom themes etc) and this will not effect the sysNAND at all. So if there is a problem, you can remove the SD card and your 3DS will still work.
  140.
  141. REALLY IMPORTANT: Look in your Nintendo 3DS folder. There should be a folder with a long name like "4k5jhg3kjhg5lgjkhgk" MAKE A NOTE OF THIS, IT IS YOUR SYSNAND FOLDER. After the following steps you will have a second folder in here with a different name, THIS IS YOUR EMUNAND FOLDER. It's important to know the difference so make a note of it!
  142.
  143. =NOTE: Skip 1-3 if using ReiNand=
  144. 1) Download (Au)ReiNAND (ReiNAND is here: https://github.com/Reisyukaku/ReiNand/releases; AuReiNAND is in the intro) and CTRBootManager (Download: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ctrbootmanager-3ds-boot-manager-loader-homemenuhax.398383/)
  145. 2) Copy and Paste everything inside the (Au)ReiNand zip you extracted (with firmware.bin) to your folder. Merge and replace when asked.
  146. 3) Put the SD card into your 3DS
  147. 4) Open Homebrew Launcher (Hold L when turning the 3DS on) *If this doesn't work, check part "f - Error Fixes"
  148. 5) Open EmuNAND9
  149. 6) Select "EmuNAND Manager Options", then "Dump SysNAND to NAND.bin"
  150. 7) Eject your SD card by pressing B and then SELECT and physically ejecting
  151. 8) Put the SD car into your PC
  152. 9) Move the NAND.bin you just made from the SD card to your PC. Keep it safe.
  153. 10) Make a copy of your ENTIRE SD CARD on your PC. This is important as the next step will format the sd card.
  154. 11) Insert your SD card back in the console and press B
  155. 12) Select Complete EmuNAND Setup and follow the instructions.
  156. 13) Switch the console off
  157. Copy/Paste your SD card backup from your PC to the SD card (select replace all if there are any matches)
  158. 14) Rename the "boot.3dsx" on the SD card to "brew.3dsx"
  159. Now place the "boot.3dsx" (from the zip you downloaded in step 1 of this section) into the root of your SD card.
  160. 15) Put the SD card back into the 3DS and hold L while you turn it on
  161. 16) Instead of the Homebrew Launcher you will now see the CTRBootManager. From here you can boot ReiNand or Homebrew Launcher. (Delete all those other shortcuts)
  162.
  163. If you still get the Homebrew Launcher when you hold L you are using the wrong boot.3dsx file. Use the one found in this zip file instead: https://gbatemp.net/attachments/ctrbootmanager-1-2-zip.29831/
  164.
  165. 17) Download Decrypt9WIP (https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9WIP/releases) and Universal Injector Generator (https://github.com/d0k3/Universal-Inject-Generator)
  166. 18) Copy Decrypt9WIP to the SD card
  167. 19) Load Decrypt9WIP from HBL
  168. 20) Scroll to "EmuNAND Options"
  169. 21) Scroll down to "Health&Safety Dump" and press A (It'll take a while but let it finish)
  170. 22) Press START and take the SD card out
  171. 23) Put the SD Card into your computer
  172. 24) Copy hs.app to the "input" folder from Universal Injector Generator
  173. 25) Download DevMenu.cia and put it in the "input" folder
  174. 26) Run "go.bat"
  175. 27) Take the newly generated .app files
  176. 28) Delete the old hs.app on the SD
  177. 29) Copy one of the the new .app files and rename it "hs.app"
  178. 30) Eject the SD
  179. 31) Put it in your 3DS
  180. 32) Open Decrypt9WIP from HBL
  181. 33) Scroll down to "EmuNAND Options" and press A
  182. 34) Scroll down to "Health&Safety Inject" and Press A (It'll take a few seconds, let it finish!)
  183. 35) Press START
  184.
  185. Health&Safety will still be there, but it will load DevMenu
  186.
  187. You're pretty much done now. However your emuNAND is linked to your sysNAND. This means any changes made to the emuNAND will be made to the sysNAND. WE DO NOT WANT THIS. So now we must unlink them...
  188.
  189. ==================
  190. d - Unlink NAND's
  191. ==================
  192.
  193. In this step we will unlink the NAND's.
  194.
  195. 1) Download this: https://github.com/javimadgit/TinyFormat/releases
  196. 2) Open the "3ds" folder and copy the "TinyFormat" folder into the "3ds" folder on your SD card
  197. 3) Put the SD card into your 3DS. Turn on the 3DS and select Homebrew Launcher from the boot menu.
  198. 4) Open TinyFormat
  199. 5) Press Y to format your SysNAND
  200. 6) That's it, your NAND's are now unlinked
  201.
  202. If menuhax no longer works you can get it back by doing this:
  203.
  204. 1) Backup the "boot.3dsx" file on your SD card
  205. 2) Download this: https://mega.nz/#!WB0yVDQA!PwkTzA3686cQLs9uCByMVMc0FZic8tPy8xfpu63aaBs
  206. 3) Add the downloaded "boot.3dsx" file to your SD card
  207. 4) Place the SD card back into your 3DS
  208. 5) Turn on the 3DS (don't hold L so that you boot into sysNAND)
  209. 6) Go into the theme settings (top left button > change theme) and let it install some files. Once it has finished, press B.
  210. 7) Press L + R to get into the camera
  211. 8) Tap the QR button above the quit button (botom left of the screen)
  212. 9) Open this website in your PC's browser: http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php
  213. 10) Scan the QR code and open the link in the 3DS browser
  214. 11) Once it loads, zoom in on the bottom screen and you will see a slider at the top left
  215. 12) Tap the far left side of the slider and the homebrew launcher should start
  216. 13) Install menuhax like you did before
  217. 14) Once it has installed and you have made any changes you want (such as what button activates menuhax) turn off the console.
  218. 15) Put the SD card back into your PC
  219. 16) Delete the boot.3dsx on your SD card
  220. 17) Copy the boot.3dsx backup you made in step 1 of this section back onto the SD card
  221. 18) That's it!; Now you have menuhax back and working like normal.
  222.
  223. To make sure that they are unlinked, boot into emuNAND (hold L while booting, then select ReiNand) (IF THIS FAILS SEE THE BELOW WARNING)
  224. Once inside emuNAND, create a folder.
  225. Turn the console off and then turn it back on without holding L (to get to sysNAND).
  226. If the folder is not there, then the NAND's are 100% certain to be unlinked.
  227.
  228. ===========================
  229. e - Update emuNAND to 10.4
  230. ===========================
  231.
  232. In this step we will update the emuNAND to 10.4. This will mean that you can play games that require a firmware > 9.2.
  233. This step isn't needed but it is strongly advised.
  234.
  235. YOUR NAND MUST BE UNLINKED, IF YOU'RE KEEPING YOUR NAND'S LINKED, SKIP THIS STEP.
  236.
  237. 1) Turn on the 3DS and hold L to get to the boot manager
  238. 2) Select ReiNand
  239. 3) Go into System Settings
  240. 4) Look at the system version (bottom right of the top screen)
  241. 5) If it says "RX-E 9.2.0-20E" or something similar to this, you are currently in emuNAND
  242. 6) If you are 100% sure you are in emuNAND, select Other Settings > Page 4 > System Update
  243. 7) Let it do its thing
  244. 8) Once the update is finished, turn the 3DS off and then follow steps 1-4 again
  245. 9) The version should now say "RX-E 10.4.0-28E" or something very similar
  246. 10) You're done; you now have the latest emuNAND
  247.
  248. Well that's it. You've now completed all of the important tasks and from now on you're just setting it up how you want.
  249. If you've hit any errors along the way, look through the next section before asking questions.
  250.
  251. ==================
  252. f - Error Fixes
  253. ==================
  254.
  255. In this step I'll go over some errors that you may encounter
  256.
  257. Q: When I hold L to get into the boot manager, I select ReiNand but it just goes back to the boot manager. If I select ReiNand again I get a black and red screen. What the fuck?
  258. A: You've installed menuhax on your emuNAND AND sysNAND. To fix this do the following:
  259.
  260. 1) Turn on the 3DS and get into the boot manager
  261. 2) Select ReiNand and DO NOT ACTIVATE MENUHAX (by default this is done by NOT holding the L button. You may have changed this when setting up menuhax)
  262. 3) You should now be in your 3DS emuNAND
  263. 4) Change the theme (to anything, it doesn't matter)
  264. 5) Turn off the 3DS
  265. 6) That's it; everything should work normally again now.
  266.
  267. Q: I held L on boot but nothing happened? It worked before!
  268. A: Assuming you didn't change the menuhax trigger and left it at it's default, menuhax is broken. You need to reinstall it by doing this:
  269.
  270. 1) Put the SD card in your PC
  271. 2) Rename "boot.3dsx" to "bkup.3dsx"
  272. 3) Grab the boot.3dsx from the starter.zip you downloaded in the very first step of this guide and place it on the SD card root.
  273. 4) Put the SD card back into the 3DS and turn it on
  274. 5) Go into browserhax and load Homebrew Launcher (see steps 5-11 of the very first section of this guide for details)
  275. 6) Install menuhax (change the trigger if you want)
  276. 7) Turn off the console and put the SD card into your PC
  277. 8) Delete "boot.3dsx" and rename "bkup.3dsx" back to "boot.3dsx"
  278. 9) That's it, everything should be back to how it was before.
  279.
  280. Q: I get Error 022-2634 when I open the eShop
  281. A: Do the following:
  282.
  283. 1) Turn on your 3DS into Homebrew Launcher (hold L, select Homebrew Launcher)
  284. 2) Run EMUNAND9
  285. 3) Select EmuNAND Manager Options > Backup EmuNAND to EmuNAND.bin
  286. 4) Once finished, turn off the 3DS and put the SD card into your PC
  287. 5) Copy the emunand.bin onto your PC. Keep it safe.
  288. 6) Open the Nintendo 3DS folder on the root of the sd card
  289. 7) Inside you should see some folders names something like "45kj6h4kjgh6kj4gk6"
  290. 8) Determine which folder represents your emuNAND (I recommend looking for the oldest backup you have. It should contain the Nintendo 3DS folder however one of the folders inside it will be missing. The missing folder is your emuNAND folder)
  291. 9) Cut/Paste the folder to your PC
  292. 10) Put the SD card into your 3DS and turn on itno emuNand
  293. 11) Go to System Settings
  294. 12) Make sure you are still in emuNAND (It should say Rei 10.6-31U or something like that)
  295. 13) Go to Other Settings > Page 4 > System Format
  296. 14) Let it do it's thing
  297. 15) Once you are formatted and back in the main menu, go back into the System Settings
  298. 16) Log into your NNID (top button). Make sure you log into your old ID, don't make a new one.
  299. 17) Once you are logged in, go back to the main menu
  300. 18) Open eShop and once you get to the store page, close it
  301. 19) Turn off the 3DS and put the SD card in your PC
  302. 20) Put the emunand.bin back onto the SD card's root, and place the emuNAND folder (names something like "984356h6kjghkjgliglyg") back into the Nintendo 3DS folder
  303. 21) Put the SD card in the 3DS and turn on into Homebrew Laucher (hold L and select Homebrew Laucnher)
  304. 22) Open EMUNAND9
  305. 23) Select EmuNAND Manager Options > Copy EmuNAND.bin to EmuNAND
  306. 24) Once finished, turn off the console
  307. 25) That's it! When you go back into emuNand, the eShop should work fine
  308.
  309. Q: I installed some DLC and it was working fine. I came back later and the DLC is gone!
  310. A: You must have entered the eShop. Doing this removes any DLC you don't own.
  311. It's fine though,just reinstall the dlc.cia files and it will be back to normal, even progress you made in the DLC will be intact.
  312.
  313.
  314. I'll add more error fixes here as I find them...
  315.
  316.
  317.
  318.
  319.
  320.
  321.
  322.
  323. ======================================
  324. EVERYTHING PAST THIS POINT IS OPTIONAL
  325. ======================================
  326.
  327.
  328.
  329. ====================================
  330. Install HB Launcher (Home Menu App)
  331. ====================================
  332.
  333. In this step we will be installing HB Launcher. Or rather, we'll be installing an app on our homescreen that boots HB Launcher for us.
  334.
  335. 1) Download this: https://github.com/yellows8/hblauncher_loader/releases
  336. 2) Create a CIA folder on your SD card if it is not already there, and place "hb_launcher loader.cia" inside.
  337. 3) Turn on the 3DS and go into emuNAND
  338. 4) Open DevMenu or BigBlueMenu
  339. 5) Go to the CIA folder and install the "hb_launcehr loader.cia"
  340. 6) Once it has finished, press home and then X to close DevMenu/BigBlueMenu
  341. 7) You will get a gift, it will be the Homebrew Launcher Loader
  342. 8) Open the Homebrew Launcher Loader and hold Y
  343. 9) If you've followed this guide, it will load into CTRBootManager, to fix this, turn off the 3DS and put the SD card into your PC
  344. 10) You will now see a file names "hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-10-3-0-28-EUR" or something similar
  345. 11) Open this file in Notepad or Notepad++
  346. 12) It will look like an encrypted mess, that's fine, it is supposed to
  347. 13) CTRL + F and find "boot" (without quotations)
  348. 14) Now replace the word "boot.3dsx" with "brew.3dsx" or "boot_hb.3dsx" depending on the guide (if you used this guide to set everything up, use brew.3dsx)
  349. 15) Save and close
  350. 16) That's it, now when you launch the HB Launcher Loader, it should just boot into the HB Launcher.
  351.
  352.
  353. ==============================
  354. Install CHMM2 (Custom Themes)
  355. ==============================
  356.
  357. In this step we will be installing CHMM2, a Custom Theme manager.
  358. If you have unlinked your NAND's, this won't effect menuhax.
  359.
  360. If you don't have a custom theme you want to install, check the links section at the bottom of this guide for places to get themes.
  361.
  362. !!IMPORTANT!!
  363. Before any of this, make sure you have gone into the "Change Theme" window atleast once while in emuNAND
  364. It will tell you it is installing files, those files are needed by CHMM2 to change the theme.
  365.
  366. You also need to open menuhax_manager from within emuNAND. The best way to do this is through the HB Launcher (Home Menu App).
  367. Once you are in the HB Launcher (NOT from the ctrbootmanager list) then open menuhax_manager.
  368. Hold X while pressing Delete (the second option). This will clear some files that may prevent CHMM2 from working.
  369.
  370. Once that is done, continue with the below steps.
  371.
  372. 1) Download this: http://rinnegatamante.it/CHMM_25.rar
  373. 2) Create a CIA folder on your SD card if it is not already there, and place CHMM2.cia inside.
  374. 3) Create a folder named "Themes" on the root of your SD card
  375. 4) Place the theme you want to install inside it's own folder in the Themes folder (e.g. /Themes/mytheme/*themefiles*)
  376. 5) Download this: http://rinnegatamante.it/dsp_firmware_dumper.rar
  377. 6) Place the "dsp_firm_dumper" folder inside the "3ds" folder on your SD card
  378. 7) Put the SD card into your 3DS and turn it on and boot into the Homebrew Launcher (hold L, then select Homebrew Launcher)
  379. 8) Open dsp_firm_dumper
  380. 9) It should do it's thing automatically. Close the program asit tells you to.
  381. 10) Now turn the 3ds off and back on and boot into emuNAND (hold L, select ReiNand)
  382. 11) Open DevMenu or BigBlueMenu (if you followed this guide, the Health and Safety app should boot you into DevMenu)
  383. 12) Install CHMM2.cia
  384. 13) Press the home button, then press X to close DevMenu
  385. 14) You should get a gift. Open it to reveal CHMM2.
  386. 15) Open CHMM2.
  387. 16) When it tells you to, press the power button for about half a second
  388. 17) CHMM2 will load. From here you can select the theme you want to install.
  389. 18) Press Y to preview it and press A to install it.
  390. 19) Once a theme is installed, Press start and select exit
  391. 20) Press the home button to return to the 3DS menu
  392. 21) You're done; Your theme should now be installed!
  393.
  394.
  395. ======================================
  396. Install Games (3DS Roms)
  397. ======================================
  398.
  399. In this step we will be installing 3DS games as if they were being installed from the Nintendo eShop.
  400.
  401. 1) Place you're game into the CIA folder on the root fo your SD card (if the folder doesn't exist, make it) (e.g. NewSuperMarioBros2.cia)
  402. 2) Place the SD card into your 3DS and turn it on into emuNand (hold L, select ReiNand)
  403. 3) Open DevMenu (you can also use FBI or its filthy bastard clone BigBlueMenu)
  404. 4) Press right once, then select the CIA folder.
  405. 5) Select the .cia file you want to install
  406. 6) Press A and let it install
  407.
  408. Installing 3DS games takes a LONG TIME. Yes, it is supposed to take this long. No, it's not fixeable. Just be patient.
  409.
  410. 7) Once the install is finished, press A again.
  411. 8) Press the home button then press X to close BigBlueMenu or DevMenu
  412. 9) You will now have a gift, it will be the game you installed.
  413. 10) That's it!
  414.
  415. You have now installed the game. If you want to install updates/dlc, you do it the exact same way except you use the update.cia/dlc.cia file instead of the game.cia file. If you are using a game from your region (e.g. EUR console and EUR game) then you can install updates as you normally would from the eShop or when the game prompts you to.
  416. REMEMBER: Entering the eShop may delete any DLC you have installed that you don't actually own. Your progress not be infected, but you will have to install the dlc.cia files again.
  417.
  418.
  419. ============================
  420. Convert .3DS files to .CIA
  421. ============================
  422.
  423. 1) Download this: https://gbatemp.net/attachments/3ds-simple-cia-converter-v4-3-rar.21012/
  424. 2) Extract it anywhere on your PC
  425. 3) Copy all of your .3ds files into the "roms" folder
  426. 4) Run 3ds_simple_cia.exe
  427. 5) Press 'Create ncchinfo.bin file' and select the folder with your ROMS
  428. 6) The program will make a ncchinfo.bin file
  429. 7) Download this: https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9/releases
  430. 8) Extract, then copy the "Decrypt9WIP" folder to the "3ds" folder on your SD card
  431. 9) Put the SD card into your 3DS and boot into Homebrew Launcher
  432. 10) Launch Decrypt9
  433. 11) Open "xorpads options"
  434. 12) Press "generate ncch pads"
  435. 13) Wait until it is finished, then turn off the 3DS and put the SD card into your PC
  436. 14) Copy and paste the xorpad files from the root of your SD card into the "xorpads" folder of the program download.
  437. 15) Now press "Convert 3DS ROM to CIA". Select the ROM folder. It will appear to freeze, but this is normal, just leave it for a few minutes and it will pop up with a "Complete!" window.
  438. 16) You're done! The converted .cia files can be found in the cia folder.
  439.
  440. IF YOU ARE ON A N3DS AND NEED FW SPOOFING THEN FOLLOW THIS GUIDE: http://pastebin.com/CeDh65is
  441.
  442. Now you just need to install the .cia files and the games are ready to play!
  443.
  444. ======================================
  445. Blocking Future Updates (tubehax DNS)
  446. ======================================
  447.
  448. This step will go through how to block any updates from Nintendo's servers.
  449. This will temporarily block access to the eShop.
  450.
  451. The tubehax DNS is "107.211.140.065"
  452. When I say "tubehax DNS" in the steps below, that is what I am refering to
  453.
  454. 1) Go to sysNAND
  455. 2) Go to Settings, Internet Settings, Connection Settings
  456. 3) Select your internet connection (probably Connection 1)
  457. 4) Press Change Settings > Right Arrow > DNS
  458. 5) Press NO and then Detailed Setup
  459. 6) In BOTH of those fields, enter the tubehax DNS
  460. 7) Press OK > Save > Don't Test Connection
  461. 8) Turn off the 3DS, turn it back on and go into emuNAND
  462. 9) Repeat steps 2-7 for the emuNAND
  463. 10) That's it! You should no longer get any update notifications from Nintendo.
  464.
  465. To gain access to the eShop again, just set the DNS setting back to YES in both emuNAND and sysNAND. Remember to change it back once you have finished with the eShop.
  466. ======================================
  467. Cryptofix CIAs
  468. ======================================
  469. This step will be used to fix CIAs for either a public release or to make it work on older firmware
  470.
  471. Download Decrypt9WIP (https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9WIP/releases) and the N3DS keys (https://mega.nz/#F!58BC2Swb!tbyMXWpopRsaRbtt4nR_8g mega folder so guide doesn't need to be edited if keys change/new ones added)
  472.
  473. 1) Obtain the CIA that needs cryptofixing, if it is for your region, install it on emunand then go to its eShop page and repair it (SOME REPORTS SAY ESHOP DELETES DLC, SO HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR DLC!!!), if it is not, you cannot cryptofix it yet. Also download Decrypt9WIP and the N3DS keys, put the keys on the root of the sd card and put Decrypt9 with your HBL homebrew
  474. 2) Move the CIA to the folder on your SD card "D9Game", make it if you need too.
  475. 3) Open Decrypt9WIP with HBL. (MUST BE FROM SYSNAND!!! EMUNAND WILL NOT WORK!)
  476. 4) Scroll Down to "EmuNAND Options" and press A
  477. 5) Scroll Down to "Update SeedDB" and press A
  478. 6) Press B twice
  479. 7) Scroll down to "Game Decryptor Options" and press A
  480. 8) Scroll down to "CIA Decryptor (Deep) and press A (this will take a few seconds)
  481. 9) Press START when it is done
  482. 10) The CIA in the "D9Game" folder is now cryptofixed. You can copy it to your PC however you choose.
  483.
  484. ======================================
  485. Unblock (most) DS flashcarts
  486. ======================================
  487. This will unblock DS flashcarts, but some will not work!
  488. If your flashcart acted as a real DS cart on the original DS or DSi (Did not bypass Health&Safety warning) it will work!
  489. If it did not then it probably will never work
  490.
  491. Download patched TWL_FIRM (https://mega.nz/#!a5wy2ZgI!eBNJ7EWNb-j6Yemrd5-ANPwb9vHi95xQVpB7CameqFo) and, if you do not have it, FBI (https://github.com/Steveice10/FBI/releases)
  492.
  493. 1) Copy FBI.cia to the 3DS any method you want (FTP, SD Card Management, plugging it in) and the correct TWL_FIRM CIA for your 3DS (N or O)
  494. 2) Boot into emuNAND
  495. 3) Load DevMenu
  496. 4) Install FBI.cia
  497. 5) Load FBI and press L to set to NAND mode
  498. 6) Install the correct TWL_FIRM for your device, press A to overwrite
  499. 7) Reboot
  500. For flashcarts that have worked on the 3DS in the past, but were patched (Acekard 2i, Gateway Blue Card, etc.) you can stop here
  501. For flashcarts that never worked on the 3DS, but on the DSi or on the DS (without skipping Health&Safety) there is an extra step
  502. Download TWL Slot 1 Launcher (https://gbatemp.net/threads/twl-slot-1-launcher-first-custom-dsiware-app.414501/)
  503. 8) Copy the CIA to your 3DS and the FBI for HBL
  504. 9) Boot to sysNAND and open HBL
  505. 10) boot FBI and press L to set to NAND mode
  506. 11) Install the CIA for TWL slot 1 launcher
  507. 12) Exit FBI
  508. 13) Boot to EmuNAND
  509. 14) Open DevMenu
  510. 15) Install the CIA for TWL slot 1 launcher
  511. 16) Unwrap the new app
  512. Opening TWL Slot 1 Launcher will boot your old flashcart
  513. If it doesn't, clean the cart, if it still doesn't, your flashcart is either not compatible, or broken.
