  1. Officers (which includes the leader) play a crucial role in the success of this guild, for that reason these guidelines are laid out for officers to follow. It is important that we all work together to keep the guild running efficiently and ensure that we maintain our competitive atmosphere pursuing only extremely active, competitive, and talented members. Officers are expected to monitor members, looking for weak links, drama, or other issues, and address these issues quickly before things get out of hand.
  2. Applications
  3.
  4. Applications that are not well thought out will be declined without the chance of officer approval.
  5. When an application is posted to the forums, please read through it and give an honest unbiased judgement on whether an invitation should be given or not. Each applicant will require 3 officers to approve their application before being invited as a trial.
  6. If you know the applicant, inform everyone of how you know them and include any strengths/weaknesses that you believe they have.
  7. Applications will remain on the forum for 2 weeks before being removed, if 3 users approve of an application and space is not limited, then the applicant will be accepted for trial. However, if space is limited, the application will remain for 1 additional week after being accepted to determine if there are any better applicants.
  8. Upon acceptance, the member will be assigned to an officer who will be in charge of monitoring them (although all officers should be mindful of all members), the applicant will be informed of their acceptance and the officer they have been assigned to. Should the applicant choose to accept their invitation, they will enter a 2 week trial phase.
  9. Trial Phase
  10.
  11. Once a member has been invited and enters the trial phase, the officer in charge should make a forum post (on these forums) that contains any notable information about that members’ trial period.
  12. During the trial phase, members are expected to be extremely active. Forum activity, TS3 activity, guild chat activity, and guild event activity should all be monitored and noted by the officer in charge of the member.
  13. Officers should ensure that the new member fits in well with the community. Red flags should be posted in the trial member’s forum post, and will later be discussed when the member is being reviewed for full membership.
  14. If a member comes forward with some information or issues with a trial member, that information should also be noted in the trial member’s forum post.
  15. Giving trial members constructive feedback to help them improve is encouraged, if they take the constructive feedback and use it to improve themselves, that should be noted on their post.
  16. After 2 weeks, the officers will meet briefly to vote on whether a trial will be accepted to the guild, enter an additional week of trial (if not enough data has been collected), or if their membership will be declined.
  17. Monitoring Members
  18.
  19. No officer should have more than 10 members under their watch.
  20. The officer in charge of a member is responsible for choosing the punishment a member will receive; however, they are encouraged to seek the opinions of other officers before carrying out action.
  21. Officers are encouraged to actively monitor their members to ensure that they are maintaining the quality of player that we want.
  22. If an issue occurs with a member, make a member infraction forum post which will be used to track all future infractions of that member. The purpose of the thread is to ensure that all officers are on the same page and that no information is lost in communication.
  23. A single simple infraction should have no consequences for a member, multiple infractions should incur a warning, and many repeated infractions will result in action being taken (such as demotion or removal from the guild.)
  24. If internal drama occurs between two members, investigate the issue as best as you can. If you need additional help ask other officers to help you. If you find the source of the drama and it is for a bad reason, then you have the option of kicking the member that started it.
  25. If external drama occurs between a member and another guild or other people in the community and you find out about it, talk to the member that was causing the drama, give them a chance to apologize and correct their mistakes. If they do so, they are welcome to stay, otherwise the option to kick or demote will be at the officers discretion.
  26. Officer Expectations
  27.
  28. Officers are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct to the letter. If the officers do not follow the rules, then we cannot expect the members to do so. If repeated infractions occur, the leader will be forced to remove officer status, and the officer in question will not be allowed to reapply for an officer position for at least 2 months.
  29. If an issue between two officers occurs, you are expected to work it out. If either officer brings the issue into public space (TS3, guild chat, or forums) then that officer will lose officer status and possibly be removed from the guild. If the other officer chooses to respond, that officer will face the same consequences. The best way to deal with such an issue is to move the officer into another channel, delete the forum post, or take the conversation to private messaging.
  30. Officers should constantly help to promote the guild through youtube, official and unofficial ESO forums, in-game channels, facebook, twitter, and any other method that seems appropriate. Do not spam messages, as we are not interested in recruiting those that do not take the initiative to seek out a competitive guild. But having the information out there is extremely important. A list of active websites listing our recruitment advertisement will be posted on the forums, so please update that with any new forums/websites that you choose to advertise on.
  31. Officers should always stay up to date on the forums, they are expected to provide moderation and ensure that forum rules are followed closely. If forum rules are broken, the guilty party should have their forum account deactivated, for that you will have to talk to a website administrator.
  32. If an officer has a problem with another officer, or hears about a problem with another officer, it is important that he/she is not afraid to bring the issue up directly. No one is immune to the Code of Conduct and all issues should be addressed quickly before they get out of hand.
