The Homu Zone

Anon took on a summer job working for a moving company. He expected to be surrounded by middle-aged men and high-school drop outs* during his time but to his surprise there was actually a young woman there. Even more surprising is that she did most of the heavy lifting. He'd watch her carry washing machines and refrigerators with ease and one time she even bet anon that she could spin someone's flat screen TV on her index finger.

 

Her name was Homura and due to her strength and speed it meant that jobs were over quickly and that meant a lot of free time together. Anon was just happy to have someone close to his age to talk to. She'd always crack jokes and do impersonations that made everyone else groan, yet for whatever reason Anon chuckled at her sensible sense of humor. She'd point out a toy rocket ship and say that kid must have been 'over the moon' when they got it or she'd move an aquarium and start singing 'under the sea'

 

Then it started getting weird. Her jokes started getting more and more focused on Anon building all the way up to awkward pick up lines. "Hey guess what I'm wearing!"

 

"Um, I dunno a shirt?"

 

"No silly! The smile you gave me!" Homura gave her biggest grin. Anon chuckled and it only encouraged her further. She picked up a burlap sack "If a fat man puts you in a sack, don't worry, I told Santa I wanted you for Christmas."

 

"Cute." Anon smirked. "Hey let's take a lunch break."

 

"A lunch break huh? I'll be Burger King and you be McDonald's. I'll have it my way, and you'll be lovin' it." Homura raised her eyebrows.

 

Anon played dumb "We should probably just go to one place."

 

They went to the closest fast food joint and Homura made her next move "Know what's on the menu? Me-n-u." She was rewarded with a hearty laugh. After their meal they continued on to the next job and before they knew it the day was over. With light fading they headed of home and Homura made her last ditch effort: "People call me Homura, but you can call me Tonight!"

 

"Eh? Oh yeah I guess we could spend some time outside work." Anon head off in his own direction back to his home. "Seeya, buddy!"

 

'Buddy?' Homura hated the sound of that but on the other hand Anon did say they could spend more time together. It filled her with hope. "I'd love to! You better not be joking around!" Homura laughed nervously. "See you!"

 

 

 

 

 

*This is funny because Homura is a drop out. Anon sure has some foresight.
