1. Hi there, my fellow colleagues.
2.
3. I'd like to address a point here; it's about the staff and tag applications. I will mention a feel points in this thread that I feel should be taken into account, they'll be marked by subheadings so if you don't want to read my whole post, just skip to the points that you might find interesting enough.
4.
5. Most of the point I mention might be an opinion, so don't be offended in any way.
6.
7. Voting is NOT a command
8. I see a lot of staff casting votes in the following way:
9.
10.
11. /support
12. + active
13. + helping
14. + mature
15. +/- provoking
16.
17. /lock pls
18.
19.
20.
21. Can you rather do it in the following way, please? I'd say you would look somewhat stupid by acting that if you type /against a command will execute: "x received an against from y". A better way could be:
22.
23. I see you a lot online, you're genuinely helping other players and you behave mature (enough) for this position. However, you sometimes have issues by controlling your temper which causes you to provoke other users. Please work on that.
24.
25. Overall, I'd say you're doing good enough to become a staff member and therefore have my support.
26.
27.
28. What looks better?
29.
30. Who are you choosing
31. Please, keep in mind that both tag users and staff members represent the community a little bit more than regular users, this means that you have to think before actually choosing someone. If you give some a 'support' that means that you want a user to become either a tag holder or staff member.
32.
33. So when voting, keep a look at their application; if their English is bad or their answers don't make sense, then don't even have the balls to support someone before they fix it.
34. If that's fine, then start looking at how they act in-game: do they behave mature (it's not defined by age, but their behaviour), are they active, is their English as good as it is in their application (if not, then check the application again).
35.
36. NOTE: Keep in mind that you should also have a look of how users behave on the forums!
37.
38. How to catch someone, stealing applications:
39.
40.
Go to an application
41.
Copy a suspicious sentence or a part of a sentence
42.
Then go to the Applications section (even if it's about LSCNR applications)
43.
Paste it and then check if there are any results
44.
If there's success then contact a higher up to deny the application, if there's no match but it's still suspicious: question the applicant.
45.
46. Voting for friends and clan members
47. You should already know this, but getting a tag or becoming a staff member in this community should be dealt with in a fair way. If you know someone in real, you're just game friends or your clan members - then don't just go easier on them than you'd do with other applicants.
48.
49. What to look at when voting for someone
50. I guess I've partly or fully mentioned this already, but here we go.
51.
52. When voting for someone, someone who will represent the community by becoming a staff member or wearing the tag, I'd say you need to look at the following:
53.
54.
Maturity: do they behave well enough to become a bigger/more influential part of the community. This includes provoking and such. Honestly, if someone insults a family member of you over the fucking internet and you start crying about it, then I'd say you're not mature enough.
55.
Helpfulness: (I'd say that this is mainly for staff applicants) is someone helping users. Is the person helping others to get the position they want to achieve or do they help because they really want to?
56.
Activity: of course it's needed to be active, especially when you want to become a staff member. I do value maturity and helpfulness more, though.
57.
What has the user done in the past 2-3 months: has the user behaved good, or did the player break a lot of rules in this period. Some people are able to change some points within a short time, such as becoming helpful, increasing activity or becoming mature (only rare cases, when people usually trolled before). However, points like a short temper and bad English can't be changed so easily.
58.
59. The end
60. I guess this is enough for now, not everyone has to listen to this, but I've noticed quite a few doing the wrong thing.
