  1.
  2. <18:39:03> "MyInnerFred": I graduated high school, didnt' go to college or higher education due to credential issues. Done various odd jobs
  3. <18:40:24> "MyInnerFred": Was working for a realtor while in highschool, did web design and graphic design for him. I got the job because my BIMM(some sorta business multimedia class) teacher suddenly asked me one day if I wanted a job lol. I aced that class because I loved photoshop and web design stuff at the time.
  4. <18:41:40> "MyInnerFred": My contract with the realtor ended so I stopped working there, next up I went to a computer repair place for work because I'm a PC enthusiast
  5. <18:42:10> "MyInnerFred": I wasn't get paid enough to cover living expenses despite basically running the business
  6. <18:42:39> "MyInnerFred": the boss is never around, and I'm more or less the only one dealing with customers and providing support over the phone when it was needed
  7. <18:42:53> "MyInnerFred": uhh Zap are you there or am I typing for no reason?
  8. <18:43:14> "MyInnerFred": ok
  9. <18:44:21> "MyInnerFred": I up and quit after giving my 1 week notice. Because I wasn't getting paid shit for what I did there, the one thing I did benefit from working there is learning even more methods to troubleshoot technical problems. Oh and I guess I did get some experience i ncustomer service
  10. <18:44:25> "MyInnerFred": customer*
  11. <18:44:38> "MyInnerFred": After that I found a full time job in retail
  12. <18:44:41> "LaputaCake": im a yo-yo
  13. <18:45:11> "MyInnerFred": lovely I know haha, I worked in a small goods shop that sold chocolates to cheap furniture all the way to cooking pans and what not
  14. <18:45:30> "MyInnerFred": It's not easy trying to sell such things good lord
  15. <18:45:52> "MyInnerFred": After about half of year of that, I decided to look for a more fitting job.
  16. <18:46:10> "MyInnerFred": I applied for work at a electronic retailer(Fry's)
  17. <18:47:03> "MyInnerFred": Because why not? I'm good with tech stuff and I knew how to deal with custonmers(oh I made that sound like a chore eh?).
  18. <18:48:56> "MyInnerFred": I believe in honesty and integrity in business. I absolutely despise (*inserts a word for scummy*) business pratices.
  19. <18:49:32> "MyInnerFred": I wouldn't lie to a customer about a product to get a sale. I find being honest and helpful brings far more benefit, to you and the business.
  20. <18:49:49> "LaputaCake": Who's a good Fred. Yes you are :P
  21. <18:50:11> "MyInnerFred": For example if a customer can a better product i.e. a better CPU for a lower price at a different place I'll tell them to go buy it there instead.
  22. <18:50:44> "MyInnerFred": Being honest and putting the customers interests as your first priority builds trust
  23. <18:51:35> "MyInnerFred": I worked there for about half a year before getting a raise. At the time I would spend all my leisure time playing Guild Wars 2 or occasionally watching anime.
  24. <18:52:12> "MyInnerFred": GW2 was the first mmorpg that I've spent more than 4k hours playing... heck I rarely play a MMO for over a month before quitting.
  25. <18:53:06> "MyInnerFred": I'd do nothing but sit in the main city in that game and play the trading post. I found out ways to manipulate the trading post to your advantage and profit that way so I got pretty rich in-game.
  26. <18:53:21> "MyInnerFred": I did nothing but play the trading post for weeks on end lol...
  27. <18:54:03> "MyInnerFred": I had already watched spice and wolf prior to this and created a translation group for the light novels with bash and pity and a couple of other people.
  28. <18:54:49> "MyInnerFred": So the series kinda peaked my interest in economics, so I thought to myself why not go make real money off the stock market instead of wasting all my time making fake cash in a game?
  29. <18:55:04> "MyInnerFred": So while I was still working at the electronics store
  30. <18:55:59> "MyInnerFred": I started doing research in my free time about the stock market, I played around with a stock simulator on investopedia for about 6 months I think while I was still working in retail.
  31. <18:57:43> "MyInnerFred": After I felt like I was confident enough to make the dive I took a bunch of the money I made saved up from odd jobs and tossed it into a brokerage account. I quit my electronics store job despite my supervisor trying to convince me to stay lol, heck he was about to give me another raise(according to him it was a early raise). Him being awesome offered me a position there if I ever decided I wanted to work there again.
  32. <18:58:26> "MyInnerFred": Started trading stocks, first couple of weeks were a bit rough but after getting acustumed to how the market moves
  33. <18:58:42> "MyInnerFred": I started to make money consistently.
  34. <18:59:10> "MyInnerFred": paid the bills with my gains and used the remaining earnings to increase the capital I had in my account because the more money you have the more you can make.
  35. <19:00:18> "MyInnerFred": I had so much free time I loved it... I could wake up trade for 2 hours when the market opens and go back to sleep or heck I could wake up late and trade around lunch time lol. I got to set my own hours and I had no boss!
  36. <19:01:13> "MyInnerFred": It was brilliant, however I made one grave mistake after about a year of actively trading and consistently making gains....
  37. <19:01:17> "LaputaCake": farming the market
  38. <19:01:26> "LaputaCake": stock market*
  39. <19:02:24> "MyInnerFred": One fateful monday morning when I woke up and made $600 in a about 1 hour my father asked me if I wanted to go to a family friends work place and take a look around. I was like "sure why not I don't have anything better to do". Holy shit horrid decision but oh well....
  40. <19:03:31> "MyInnerFred": This "family friend" had been trying to employee for 2 years now(I thought it was 2 years, apparently it was actually 3... heard him talk about it himself).
  41. <19:03:36> "MyInnerFred": employ*
  42. <19:04:30> "MyInnerFred": Upon arriving I spotted a childhood friend who happen to have just started working there that day. And my family friend upon seeing me was instantly under the impression that I wanted to work there....
  43. <19:05:14> "MyInnerFred": he started teaching me and my old friend right away. Throwing everything at us in one go. Hell I've never been to a work place where they don't have a proper guide on what to do for new employees
  44. <19:07:27> "MyInnerFred": After the first week my childhood friend got fired lol... Apparently my boss asked the other employees in the office who they thought was more useful. Now I'm not trying to be harsh here but my "childhood friend" which I havent seen in years if not the brightest guy, hes a big fan of multi-level marketing and loves "hanging out" with "the dudes". So his removal was not really a surprise....
  45. <19:08:14> "MyInnerFred": I make at least 2 times more per month trading stocks full time than how much I make working full time at this auto repair shop(hell I don't even drive).
  46. <19:08:30> "MyInnerFred": Now you might wonder why... WHYYYY do I still work here if that is the case
  47. <19:08:50> "MicLess Zap :#": yup
  48. <19:08:59> "MyInnerFred": well to put it in a simply
  49. <19:10:55> "MyInnerFred": It's a family friend and asians are a fucking pain in the ass when it comes to relations like this. I want to maintain this family friend relationship bullshit so I didn't quit. Plus if I quit now their more or less fucked because I'm the only translator there besides my boss, and they have me doing so many different things there that I should TECHNICALLY be paid extra to do....
  50. <19:11:16> "MyInnerFred": It's blasphemous I tell you...
  51. <19:12:03> "MyInnerFred": My boss is pretty scummy when it comes to selling jobs to customers... I hate the way business is done, there is a serious lack of integrity.
