  3. Blue Division High School
  4.
  5. Formal relations between Japan and Spain are known to have existed since the days of the Christian Missionary Francisco Xavier (1506-1552). These relations ultimately resulted in cultural exchange centers being built in the cities of Hirado in Nagasaki Prefecture, Onjuku in Chiba Prefecture, and Ishinomaki in Myagi Prefecture.
  6.
  7. Years later when the news that a new school ship was being built, many Prefectures put their names forwards in the hope that they would host the new school. In the end, Mie Prefecture and Myagi prefecture were the last contenders.
  8.
  9. Suffice to say, there were many troubles during that period.
  10.
  11. Due to the lack of any conclusive agreement, it was decided that the port of Shimotsu in Wakayama Prefecture would host the school, with the compromise that the school ship would accept support from and make annual visits to Shima Peninsula in Mie Prefecture and the city of Ishinomaki in Myagi Prefecture.
  12.
  13. And thus the high school Blue Division was born.
  14.
  15. Like almost all schools, they have a Senshado team that flies the Blue Division flag, enters in tournaments, and has relations with other schools. However unlike all other schools, Blue Division does not have an official Senshado Club.
  16.
  17. Blue Division students are known for two things, the first is their culinary skills on the level of Anzio, the second is their incredible zeal and enthusiasm.
  18.
  19. Their unofficial Senshado team first began due to said enthusiasm, spontaneously and without regard for personal gain of any kind. This sort of drive and selflessness has gained Blue Division’s band of volunteer tankers much recognition from other schools.
  20.
  21. Not caring that they will never officially be part of a Senshado team, they still conduct practice matches with Kuromorimine on their own time.
  22.
  23.
  24. Their force originally consisted of light tanks, with the lighter Panzer I, Panzer II, and CV-35 supplementing their heavier BT-5 and T-26 tanks which form the backbone of the Blue Division team. Also in their possession is a single model of the rare and unusual Verdeja 1 tank.
  25.
  26. Due to this weak lineup, it has been said that their spirit is the only thing that will get them past the first round.
  27.
  28. There exists a few projects to improve the firepower of their vehicles, including installing a 20mm autocannon in a Panzer I and installing a short 75mm howitzer in other vehicles. However due to the procurement of the newer Panzer IV Model H, miscellaneous Panzer III models, and a number of Stug III Assault Guns, these projects have been effectively canceled.
  29.
  30. Even with their new tanks, their tactics have not changed much since the days when their team was made up of nothing but light tanks. They prioritize speed, breaking enemy lines, and being very flexible with their plans. It is not uncommon to see them utilize their Stug III Assault Gun in a fast charge against the enemy. They excel in quick and short engagements but to badly in long, drawn out battles of attrition. They usually have multiple backup plans in case the situation turns in the enemy’s favor, however some of these plans are rather unusual and may not be the most practical.
  31.
  32.
  33. Overall, the Blue Division students are open, cheerful, and curious. They are known to be regularly late for promised dates, as they like to move a their own pace. It seems that their favorite interests is talking and fashion.
  34.
  35. That’s not to say that they don’t have their occasional quarrels. Because their likes and dislikes are set in stone, it’s not strange to see fights suddenly erupt over sometimes insignificant details. However once the dust settles they seem to return to being friends almost instantly, either because they know not to worry about the past or because they just don’t hold grudges.
  36.
  37. Blue Division High School holds good relations with a number of other schools, including the aforementioned Kuromorimine, Blue Division also has a good friendship with Waffle Academy and Anzio Girl’s High School due to the fact that all three share a love for food and the culinary arts. There is often international attention when the three schools come together to have a festival. Blue Division students are known to put as much time into making a meal as they do talking, also showing the same drive in Art, Music, and Theatre classes. Though the school is regularly low on funds, the students oftentimes show no worries.
