- 17:59:17 [Polaris] The ship came to a halt, and it was thanks to the vines of Ivy that she was able to release it from her grip allowing it to rest on the likes of the vines, something that was astounding to behold. Thus, this is what gave her a much needed breather. Thor spoke out to her, and getting this baby back to the waters was going to be a bit trickier than merely stopping it. It was only when she saw the vines of Ivy stabilize itself that she thought about the one who caused this. As a matter of fact that vines were apparently now taking the brunt of the weight, something she found very convenient at the moment. The Earth's EM field was always lending its strength to her subconsciously, thus it was a bit remarkable to think, even to herself, how quickly she was able to recuperate. Hovering was something she could do in her sleep, picking off foes was something a bit different. First thing, first pick off the baddy given that Ivy's -C-
- 18:01:14 [Polaris] creation was positioning the ship to eventually move back to the waters. Thor should also find relief, of so she would think, that her vines were sufficient enough to hold the ship itself as well as slowly turn it. However, she wanted to see if Firestar's attack would be sufficient enough before adding to the fire, literally. Thus she hovered about a moment and waited for the vines to position the ship to be moved. -E-
- 18:14:42 [Law] - The movement of the boat, nor fate of its passengers, no longer mattered to the young mutant who had brought it this far. Hell, few things mattered at all to him now except for the outright destruction of... that no longer mattered, either, as there was someone else who wanted to take the formerly-invisible mutant with the energy beam's place. And her assault? Heat. That's cute, would be a thought that would be appropriate if Sebastian was prone to sarcasm, but instead, he was silent, and furious. Not only had Cyclops had the nerve to try to tell him to stop, but this... this bitch paved the way for him to, then, run away! Being surrounded by a sphere of telekinetic energy, it would move with him as he went to- Eh? he wondered. What's this? Vines? Fucking vines? Expanding the sphere of energy -- and scrapping the idea of moving for the moment--, Sebastian would be pushing back both the source of energy collision that was ->
- 18:14:47 [Law] -> causing the air in the bubble to grow hotter as well as the vines that sought to encroach upon his person. Immediately thereafter, he would disperse that shield as he flew out of the direction of Firestar's attack quite quickly, letting the heat take care of the plants that he didn't force out of his way as he moved to position himself, of all places, in the hole left by the bow of the ship in the Empire State Building. But he was not done here. Biting back the pain of the burn the heat left on his flesh from the brief moment he dropped the shield, he growls angrily. Moving a bit deeper into the building, he raised the shield again -- except this time around, he enveloped Firestar in it, reversing the force of it inward, rather than outward. Immediately, he would begin shrinking the shield, seeking, ultimately, to crush her until the entirety of what was once her being resided completely within the size of a marble. That bitch. How dare she interfere.
- 18:20:13 [Ivy`] posts to take Ivy and Thor out..))
- 18:20:46 [Ivy`] The Mutant Vines she’d created would work wonders and had. Most people underestimate Ivy and the power she truly possess. To harness Nature at your fingertips was a gift many didn’t truly understand unless you had the power itself. Ivy had lived with it for years and beside that having a doctorate in Botany helped when it came to manifest wonderfully new creations. Such as these. The vines themselves were toxic in the way the moisture that flowed through them were invariably poisonous should they connect the skin, SHOULD Ivy deem it so. They only had to “start” bleeding and the toxicology, to a near bio-electrical tox would seep from the pores, with it’s own electrical charge, it’s own power source on many levels. These were just a few items Ivy had experimented in over the years, not to mention her potions, as well as her own --
- 18:20:49 [Ivy`] body which was a weapon in itself. Though, there were too many flames, to much heat around Law, and thus any vines that were trying to make an attempt to poke through the shield he held would end up bad for Ivy. As such, she lowered them as they slowly slipped back into the Earth’s crust, slithering in snake like back into the soil that lay under New York. Ivy would then move toward Thor, her eyes on his form as she would help him by letting him lean against her. She couldn’t stay at the scene for now. For certes Ivy cared not about super heroes, or humans who may be killed. Her concern was, and had been Thor. It wouldn’t take her long to help get him back to the warehouse, where once they’d finally enter, she would place him on the bed he’d been using to let the male fall asleep. Ivy, as most nights found her, would then go back to her drawing board to create another new plant species for the night. Flame-retardant ones.
- 18:27:30 [Firestar whispers to Law] question did he trap them both in the same sphere or in one around him, and another around her
- 18:32:34 [Firestar] hmmm can anyone tell from Law's post if he is inside the telekinteic shield or is it just Firestar?.
- 18:34:08 [Polaris] just firestar
- 18:35:03 [Law] He is not.
- 18:35:15 [Polaris] it would be suicide for him to encase them both
- 18:35:30 [Law] What Polaris said.
- 18:39:12 [Polaris] Lorna had simply been hovering about watch Ivy do her work while keeping an eye out on the attack. She watched him as he darted away from her attack, and merely followed his movements as he went deeper into the building itself this allowed her to lower herself quite inconspicuously as his attention was focused on Firestar. She could still see him from where she hovered in front of the hole that was of a large proportion. Apparently he was not paying enough attention to her and such made it easy for her to follow him so unnoticeably. Thus her next move came into play as; fore while she landed directly in front of the hole she commanded around fifteen or so metal strips the burst forth from the frame of hole itself. In other words she was using metal from the structure of the building itself slicing through the air and was meant to disperse in direction all around him, and if effective ensnare his entire body in metallic vines, or ropes, as well as rendering him completely immobile. -C-
- 18:39:16 [Polaris] It was apparent to her that he was some kind of telekinetic, and in her mind they were tricky to deal with, but nonetheless manageable if she played her cards right. This move would also hopefully ease off the attack on Firestar. -E-
- 18:39:20 [Firestar] nooo my post!!!!
- 18:39:41 [Firestar] -puts Polaris post after her own
- 18:40:48 Firestar dropped the hearing of the air the moment he moved, avoiding doing muchdamage to Ivy’s creations. Throwing a quick glance to ensure the safety of Thor, Ivy and Polaris – as well as the ship that was secured by the veins Iy produced, Firestar followed the man right into the same hole in the building, few fire spheres shot right at him, while Law was without the protection of his telekinetic shield. Remember not to underestimate the speed at which Angelica moved – her powers giving her speed and agility many could only dream about. But what was that – he was trapping her in the shield right now? Her flames intensified, as she now formed her own force field of pure heat and plasma that would collide against the telekinetic shield the man would have around her, the heat and radiation at full blast – enough to burn down to the very bottom of earth’s core. She wouldn’t be this easily trapped, and if the man didn’t appreciate to be burned, which is completely understandable, perhaps next time he would
- 18:41:07 [Polaris] (picture ropes of metal coming from all around the hole itself inward towards you Law)
- 18:41:13 Firestar think twice before attacking the city she was calling her home. This all said, Law would have to give his all attention to even hold the force shield around Firestar – if he failed to keep his concentration or something distracted the man, Law would find a fire blast heading his way - powerful enough to send him flying all the way through the empire building, with his back smashing through the walls all the way to the opposite side.
- 18:41:31 [Polaris] No do not
- 18:41:38 [Polaris] I was after Ivy anyway
- 18:41:51 [Law] Ivy skipped ahead in the order.
- 18:41:56 [Law] She wasn't meant to go when she did.
- 18:43:21 [Polaris] So it is okay for her to just fuck my post over?
- 18:43:37 Law didn't say that.
- 18:44:12 [Firestar] she is inside the building with him - he did put a sphere over her
- 18:44:30 [Law] He can make spheres of energy at any range he can see.
- 18:44:31 [Polaris] but not over himself
- 18:44:43 [Firestar] I didnt say it was over him
- 18:45:17 [Firestar] I said the sphere is over Firestar and she is deflecting its pressure using her own force field
- 18:45:55 [Firestar] as well as mentioned it would take a lot of Lawès attention to keep it on her otherwise - of the shere would fall from her he would be greeted by a blast
- 18:46:25 [Firestar] Law's
- 18:46:36 [Firestar] you post is fine the way it is
- 18:47:22 [Firestar] the final fire blast didnt happen by the way - I said it would only happen if she broke through his shpere
- 18:47:56 [Polaris] alright
- 18:53:42 [Law whispers to Firestar] Not that I'm trying to undo what you're doing, because it's good use of her powers in the circumstances, but if, as the profile says, she's "still in the process of learning how to use her powers", she would sorely be outmatched by an Omega level mutant who does know how to use his.
- 18:54:48 [Law whispers to Firestar] Not that I'm going to push the issue on it. Law's gonna end up distracted, anyway. But stating that he would have to use all of his focus or else she'd break it feels like a slap in the face.
- 18:55:26 [Firestar whispers to Law] her full powers allow her to fly right through a mountain or survive in space or heat up air around earth enough to actually destroy earth - that is why Im saying she is still learning - her Omega level isnt reached by far but she is still very powerful
- 18:56:26 [Law whispers to Firestar] He can use his powers to do the exact same thing, just in a different way.
- 18:57:30 [Firestar whispers to Law] not saying she can - Im saying that it would be her "Omega" level, which she hasnt reached yet - which is why profile says she is still learning
- 18:57:40 [Law whispers to Firestar] -Shrugs.- Not like it matters. It seems people have taken to "Law's planning on killing his character anyway" and basically just turned what was an epic confrontation with give and take into just take. So I'll just let you guys win in an anticlimactic fashion.
- 19:00:10 [Firestar whispers to Law] never said anything about killing him in my post >.>
- 19:00:42 [Law whispers to Firestar] Completely unprotected, the fireblast would kill him.
- 19:01:15 [Firestar whispers to Law] she is simply holding the shpere from crashing her, she isnt breaking it while his focus is on it - and she isnt attacking him while she is in the shepre >.>
- 19:01:47 [Firestar whispers to Law] how would it? Mutants survive blasts all the time - he can coat himself in telekinetic energy to soften the fall
- 19:02:41 [Firestar whispers to Law] or he can use telepathy on her to weaken her concentration and deminish the power of the blast to a minimum - you can really play with the powers here - that why I used if. nothing is set in stone here.
- 19:03:26 [Law whispers to Firestar] He's a normal human being, with no additional resistances to anything. If it would kill a human being, it will kill him if he doesn't protect himself. Thus, if he diverts his attention to deal with Lorna, he's going to die. Game set and match. If he doesn't divert his focus, he's doomed by metal.
- 19:04:15 [Firestar whispers to Law] before he does he can throw a mental attack her way which owuld minimize the impact of the fire blust
- 19:04:37 [Law whispers to Firestar] I'm not looking for ways out of the attacks, darling. This isn't about winning. It never was.
- 19:05:12 [Firestar whispers to Law] yeah but I dont want my attach killing anyone - it was never meant to kill
- 19:05:51 [Law whispers to Firestar] It may end up that Law will be on Firestar's conscience forevermore as a result.
- 19:07:07 [Firestar] sign and changes her post
- 19:07:25 [Law whispers to Firestar] I'd keep it, because I'm using it in battle. Not giving in yet.
- 19:08:14 [Law whispers to Firestar] He's gonna redirect the heat at Lorna, putting a telekinetic shield (prevents the fireblast from getting to him) to redirect it Lorna. She may be able to absorb microwaves, but there's also a pure heat component
- 19:08:24 Firestar think twice before attacking the city she was calling her home. This all said, Law would have to give his all attention to even hold the force shield around Firestar – if he failed to keep his concentration or something distracted the man, there would be a small explosion tossing him just a few feet backwards and not killing him.
- 19:09:12 [Law whispers to Firestar] It's just a matter of perspective. Iconic characters of the Marvel universe were struggling, but two minor mutants can overcome the same threat? Doesn't that seem a little silly?
- 19:09:33 [Law whispers to Firestar] Minor in how well known they are, not their power.
- 19:13:41 [Law whispers to Firestar] Also, sorry for being a dick. I'm still pissed off about stuff here and I'm having trouble keeping it together.
- 19:14:21 [Firestar whispers to Law] not being a dick Im changing it so I wont kill the character - you were playing him pretty strong I thought he could take a hit
- 19:14:48 [Law whispers to Firestar] He can, if he protects himself. He's just squishy.
- 19:15:23 [Law whispers to Firestar] But he's also very offensively minded.
- 19:17:02 [Law] - Things were clearly not going according to plan. But the strangest thing about that would be that it would not show on Sebastian's face. Even though things weren't going the way he wanted them to, a grin found it's way to his face. Yes, it was starting to turn into a gender-reversed bad hentai movie, and this fucker was grinning. Why? Well, why not? When all was said and done this day, no matter how valiantly they fought, the future was set, unchangeable. And in that future, Law was the, well, law, the supreme authority. As the metal 'ropes' began to snake their way toward him and the pressure within the sphere he'd placed around the heat-generating mutant began to rise, that grin simply got bigger. With little warning, he cut out the shield altogether, shifting those energies to create a smaller, but more intense shield very near to Lorna. The purpose of this would be for the microwaves to clash against the shield, generating extreme amounts of heat. And this ->
- 19:19:22 [Law] -> heat would be redirected at Lorna. Being that she was infront of him in the building, her back would be to the goings-on outside and, it should be assumed, that she would be fully caught unaware when the superheated air -- now, microwave free! -- would blast her in back, across the shoulders and the base of her neck. Following this, without bothering to see if it was successful or not, he'd burst forward, in sort of a charge, toward Lorna. Physical impact wouldn't happen, of course, as given that she had shown her cards as a metal manipulator, he'd expect some surprises underfoot. Thus, with a shield up again, he'd make his way out of the building and back into the open air. He'd find no cover to shrink the quarters to his favor. Not while that one was still alive, anyway.
- 19:32:24 Law sighs.
- 19:33:04 [Polaris whispers to Law] you okay?
- 19:33:54 Firestar the moment the sphere was moved, an explosion occurred, but it was a very small with enough force to – at most – push those around her. Firestar would notice the presence of Polaris while still in the telekinetic sphere, and as such ensured that when the explosion did occur all of the heat, microwave and radiation was literally sucked right back into her own body. Only thing left that could possibly be used to attack Polaris was the strength in the air current. Flames sprouting around her form, she would simply watch the man right now, anticipating next Polari’s move and allowing her to take the lead on the next attack.
- 19:35:24 [Law whispers to Polaris] Not really. I was all excited for this event, had been building it up all week, and when it actually comes around, real life shit gets in the way and it ends up failing to live up to even part of it's potential, and I know a good deal of that is because I can't find the quality I had when it was getting going earlier today, my mood has gone to shit, I'm disappointed and have considered for my last few posts just letting Law die.
- 19:38:15 [Law whispers to Polaris] I know part of it is that my idealism is getting in the way. The whole purpose of this event was for Law to be such a threat that it would ultimately force the moral dilemma on the heroes to have to kill him to stop him. But I'm failing to deliver, and I'm also unfairly expecting other people to understand the whole premise without being told.
- 19:40:41 [Law whispers to Polaris] I never went into this whole thing with the notion that Law would win the fight. Quite the opposite. I brought him there to die as part of a story, but it feels like everyone else is playing to win, not playing for story.
- 19:41:47 [Polaris whispers to Law] We all have had that problem at one point or another. You should always go into something expecting a challenge, and resistance from them is apart of that said challenge. Telekinesis is easy to counter, and I could have shut him down a while ago, but in order to keep the fight alive, one must know when to prolong things for the sake of capture one's interest as well as sparking creativity, and not just one hit one kill etc.
- 19:43:04 [Polaris whispers to Law] thus me prolonging the fight is not to "win" but to make the rp more enjoyably
- 19:45:11 [Polaris whispers to Law] i personally think you are doing a great job
- 19:45:14 [Law whispers to Polaris] I'm probably just being a baby about the whole thing, because the pet project I've been working on isn't going as planned. I don't mean this as an insult to you, or to the player of Firestar, but when this whole thing started, there were Marvel icons (Thor and Cyclops) struggling, and the story was enjoyable. Now, it's two X-Men B-Teamers having no trouble at all. In fact, from the way you just expressed it, you are holding back. Yeah, some fucking event when people are pulling punches so it's 'interesting'.
- 19:45:46 [Law whispers to Polaris] Like I said, I don't mean that insultingly. I know Polaris and FIrestar are powerful mutants.
- 19:46:42 [Law whispers to Polaris] But it doesn't look right to me. Thor, even not at full strength, ultimately collapses. Cyclops has to bail out because he got in over his head. Maybe I'm just failing to deliver. Or maybe I'm just losing it. I don't know. But I'm frustrated with myself with this whole thing. I don't mean tot take it out on you.
- 19:49:08 [Law whispers to Polaris] Doesn't help I was asked to tone Law down.
- 19:50:58 [Polaris whispers to Law] I am kind of holding back because Lorna has come a long way from the B-List to be able to hold her own against some of Marvel's more powerful characters. i am not offended mind you, but regardless this was not going to be a walk in the park as she is not that far under her father. It's okay to feel the way you do, so let's try and bring it back to life shall we?
- 19:57:31 [Law whispers to Polaris] I think we're looking at this two different ways. I never approached this as a battle. It wasn't meant to be, because you don't go into battle with the goal of losing. The outcome was always meant to be Law losing, from the moment I created the character. An Omega level psionic mutant with no respect for life other than his own and fully assured that he was invincible, with the incessant need to prove his superiority and the refusal to ever back down. That was the idea behind the character at the beginning. "Too dangerous to be kept alive", so as to prompt those involved with his defeat with something they don't usually face.
- 20:00:50 [Law whispers to Polaris] But that can't even be represented here, because, as a custom character, Law has to have a throttle on his power, while the canons can go to the full extent of their power. Case in point: It was a big fucking deal for Law to be able to lift the cruise ship and move it (almost got fully denied for being OP). And he had stopped the damn thing first when he did. But Lorna can completely arrest it's momentum when it's crashing toward the ground? I know there's the argument of Ivy and/or Thor's assistance, but when it comes to physics, the amount of energy that Lorna exerted to stop the motion that she did is well beyond what counts as "OP" for a custom character.
- 20:04:08 [Polaris whispers to Law] and you are right. OC's do get the short end of the stick because people do not see beyond the tip of their noses to see the character for who he or she is, but rather judging by first impressions of their gifts
- 20:08:04 [Polaris whispers to Law] it is why you should try to make an impression through skill, and not raw power
- 20:22:22 [Law whispers to Polaris] To do so would be to not follow the character as he was designed. As part of creating the character as he is, he was made to be specifically a brute-force character. It's both a key limitation and defining characteristic, to give those who oppose him a means of defeating him. And it's always been very clearly that, and expressed as such in the profile at the very beginning. But I'm sorry, I also have to call bullshit on 'make an impression through skill' over raw power. You've got canon characters who can create blackholes (Rachel Summers), or levitate space stations while battling the likes of Silver Surfer (Cable). There's canons that can create wormholes (Magneto), punch through planets (Gladiator), who could take the full force that Law's allowed to generate without so much as blinking (Sunspot), Manipulate all of reality at a whim (Franklin Richards), whose strength is unlimited (Hulk), can manipulate all kinds of energy to the degree of being able to use a person's own energy
- 20:22:23 [Law whispers to Polaris] to force them to use their own powers whether they want to or not (Gladiator), can warp whole populations across realities (Nate Grey), can effect the global ecosystem (Firestar and Iceman), and there's a bunch more (not that all of them are actually played, currently, but the characters exist in the comics and most of them aren't even considered to be that big of a threat in the grand scheme of things. Yet it falls on those who don't want to play a character from the comics to suck it up and try to outskill someone else who most likely has no desire to let themselves be outskilled? Right. The question is: Why bother?
- 20:23:17 [Law whispers to Polaris] That was Vulcan the energy manipulator, not Gladiator.
- 20:25:13 [Law whispers to Polaris] And you'll see a theme in those characters mentioned, except for Gladiator and Hulk. They're just human mutants.
- 20:26:22 [Polaris] Perhaps he was not aware of her gifts, and although she had already prepared a way out of it such became impractical as Firestar was looking after both of them, and exhibiting fine control over her mutation. Law chose to flee rather than fight anymore, and such left her with the question of whether or not to pursue him. She was more than sure, while her hair blew from the wind, that Angelica was more than likely going to pursue him. Thus Lorna was going to leave the decision of this matter hinging on what Firestar decided to do. He was proving to be quite elusive, and perhaps this was going to take a bit more effort than she thought.
- 20:29:07 [Law whispers to Polaris] I'm not saying they should all anyone who wants to have a character of that magnitude of power to be allowed, but given the difference between what some canon characters can do that doesn't disqualify them for being OP and what constitutes OP for an OC, it's pretty staggering.
- 20:29:17 [Law whispers to Polaris] Allow*
- 20:37:56 [Law] - Playtime. Is. Over. These would be heard, but from no particular source. They would be felt within the minds of the two women who were all that remained at the site of the Empire State Building. But the words wouldn't be heard very clearly, as they were preceded by, quite bluntly, a psychic sucker-punch. A full force simultaneous psychic attack on both of them. And the attack would be two-fold. In addition to just causing raw mental damage, it would also be to cause them to mentally reel long enough for him to subdue them by forcing them to sleep. What should be seen through slitted eyes as consciousness slips away should be what was the form of a retreating Sebastian ceasing and turning to face them, floating there rather non-chalantaly. He had never intended to flee, only to get out of the death trap that the Empire State Building was while Lorna was conscious.
- 20:40:41 [Bobby_Drake whispers to Law] Would that attack JUST effect those two? or would Bobby get it too, coming ino the area?
- 20:43:46 [Law whispers to Bobby_Drake] Nope. Bobby's free and clear. The attack was targetted at them specifically, rather than broadcasting it. Though I hate to say this, but even though neither Lorna or Firestar are supposed to have telepathic resistance, I somehow see the whole thing fail. And if that's the case, I'm going to just end it, so don't get your hopes up too much. This has literally degenerated from the epic start that it had to this sort of shit. But I've also got some issues going on IRL and more than a small amount of frustration that Iceman and Firestar can affect global temperatures and Lorna can basically create worm holes, but it was almost OP that Law could lift a cruise ship.
- 20:45:13 [Law whispers to Bobby_Drake] So I'm a little more bitter and a lot less excited than I was when this first started.
- 20:46:02 [Bobby_Drake whispers to Law] Eh.. People tend to forget showmanship in these rps. Which is why I tend to keep outta the omega range.
- 20:46:23 [Law whispers to Bobby_Drake] You do know the irony that you're on an Omega, right?
- 20:47:02 [Bobby_Drake whispers to Law] Yep. But I also know Bobby's limits. One, being his hot headedness and inability to be too 'tactical.'
- 20:47:52 [Bobby_Drake whispers to Law] Most tend to believe that just because he's 'omega level' he's unbeatable to anyone under that grade. Which is far from true.
- 20:49:46 [Law whispers to Bobby_Drake] My disappointment is that the players know what this is all about. This isn't me up there flexing Law's muscles. The whole point of all of this is to present a threat "too dangerous to be kept alive" so as to force the heroes into the moral dilemma of having to kill him to stop him. I started this whole thing with the intention that he wasn't going to win. It was just going to be difficult to beat him. I hardly consider 2 opponents to classify as difficult.
- 20:51:04 [Bobby_Drake whispers to Law] I get what you mean there. To set the stage for an 'epic' battle of sorts.
- 20:53:08 [Law whispers to Bobby_Drake] And I've always been very open about it, because I'm here for the story, not for the glory. But how can I put my energy into the story when people have to try not to win, "to make it interesting".
- 20:55:14 Firestar ’s eyes watched the figure of man as he fled the scene. The only reason why he was being illusive was because she didn’t use even half of her powers on the man. Her brows furrowed in thought, it would seem Polaris didn’t rush to capture the man either. Perhaps she would just wait and see just what the man would do. And just as that thought came to mind, in came the voice. Telepathic attack was it – I think not. Let’s not forget that Firestar is able to disturb psionic attacks – she was after all trained by Emma Frost and on countless occasions has distorted psionic attacks of the Frost Queen herself. While his attack might work on Polaris, Angelica remained on two feet, her microwave concentrated on the man, distorting the frequency he used to produce his mental attack. But the woman would not stop at this, her palms forming powerful blast that would literally shower the direction Law was coming from 0 running or returning he better be moving fast to avoid her fire ball shower. Next, if allowed
- 20:55:35 Firestar Firestar would scoop up Polaris into her arms in time to carry her out of the building. Should Polaris be able to take care of herself and somehow avoid the mental attack, Firestar would zoom right out of the building, now flying at full speed around the man, continuingly showering him with fire blasts. However should even one hit and send him to the ground she would seize her attack – after all she wanted to disarm the man, injure him but not kill him.
- 20:57:53 [Polaris] I let that one hit, so I am out of this one. I'll be around if yall need me.
- 20:58:23 [Bobby_Drake] Near The Empire State Building. New York City, New York Bobby was en route to the building in question upon the top of his ice slide. 'I have no freakin' clue as to what the hell I'm even doing here. This shouldn't be my fight.. I gave up the hero business a long time ago..' He was late, whether he wanted to be there or not. That much, he would not argue with. As the distance between the scene of this act and himself seemed to shrink, he caught sight of what appeared to be a young woman- one who was in quite a pickle. And, as luck would have it, the woman would have a saving grace- the Iceman had come to play. "Alright, who put this building on the card for Super Mutant Smackdown?" he began as he crossed his arms, taking a slight look in Polaris's direction. 'Oh joy. Looks like today's going to be as fun as yesterday.'-c-
- 20:58:41 [Bobby_Drake] Seeing Lorna there made Bobby's hesistate. Though only slightly. Kind of a high school move, but it had been a few ages since he'd seen her. His attentions turned toward Angelica now. "Wow. Two in a row. What a day, Bobby. What a day." he went on as he came to roost on top of a building across from the fight. "Mind if I step in?"
- 21:01:16 [Law whispers to Firestar] Able to disturb psionic attacks? From somebody that she doesn't know has any psychic ability? With no prior warning (the attack comes before the words)? So she just naturally has this "Fuck you and your psychic abilities" barrier up at all times, just because?
- 21:01:30 [Polaris] someone should wake me up XD
- 21:01:36 [J`onn] Is posting. One second
- 21:02:09 [Firestar whispers to Law] she was trained by Emma and if she was able to disturb Emma's attack... soryy she can disturb anyone's attack again her
- 21:02:40 [Law whispers to Firestar] You keep saying "can", but what you're meaning is "Automatically, no matter what, whether she knows that a person is capable of psychic abilities or not".
- 21:03:23 [Firestar whispers to Law] she feels someone fucking with her mind she is going to deflect it
- 21:03:44 [Firestar whispers to Law] again - trained by Emma Frost one of the most powerfull telepaths
- 21:04:31 [Law whispers to Firestar] "Fucking with her mind" is not a 'psychic sucker punch'.
- 21:05:17 [Law whispers to Firestar] I can deflect a punch if I see it coming. If I don't see it coming, it doesn't matter who trained I am or what I can do, I get punched.
- 21:05:21 [J`onn] BLinked when he heard something come from a terminal to the side. There he peered down towards it, only to see high levels of metalevel energies coming from the empire state building. It did not take a genius to figure out that there was something not right about this sort of situation. Accesssing the web had confirmed it. So what did he do? He shut down the device, locked the lab with a martian encryption code and flew out of it, phasing through the walls, ground and up to the surface before he took off like a buttlet out of hell the black hooded trench coat flapping in the wind as he approached the Empire State Building. That was when he watched, seeing two people that he knew, one that he knew of and forth that he did not know. The mental energies snapped forth, the powers of a race long developed in the arts of the mind coming down to FireStar's protection,
- 21:05:32 [J`onn] cancelling the commands, while his mind drifted towards the one that was asleep. The Daughter of Magneto, known as Polaris. The telepathic command was gentle and warm, while his voice rang out. ~Time to get up, Lorna~ And that was when he approached from the roof, sheilding himself from detection, phasing through the roof, to the floor just above Law's head, before he punched a hole in it, dropping the debre upon the man's head. He wasn't eithical about a man wish to commit mass murder. Oh no. There were causes and effects in all things in the world and in man.
- 21:05:39 [Law whispers to Firestar] But, whatever. Clearly, Firestar is untouchable.
- 21:09:56 [Law] - While the attack from Firestar may not have been meant to kill him, it certainly appeared disarm him. And to disarm someone who's only weapon is their mind, while they are floating high above a city street is to consign them to death. In the heat of the firestorm that came, Sebastian's eyes would flutter and close, his head lulling back before his entire body upended to, wel, plummet. What else could he do? Without the conscious thought to keep him aloft, he was just another piece of dead weight under the control of gravity.
