Megan, Richard, and Carlos story.

Alleged Astronauts - Episode 1: Pilot.

Richard surveys rocks and comes across a particularly shiny white one. Upon finding out it's an unconscious human astronaut, his First Law subroutine activates and he decides to rescue the human.

Richard is gone for several hours, and when he comes back he finds that Megan moved a couple of feet forward before passing out again. He puts her on a cart and rolls her back to his "house," an old NASA habitat module.

Megan wakes up and finds herself inside the house. She asks Richard where she is. Richard says she's in his house. He makes a remark that it hasn't been pressurized in a while. (expression = looking down to the side) Megan expresses surprise that the robot has a house.

Megan tells Richard that she was trying to get to Utopia City, but miscalculated her landing by an entire side of the planet. Richard tells her that she's far from any civilization. Megan expresses a desire to leave Mars.

Megan asks Richard for a rocket. Richard sarcastically checks for one, vehemently explaining the lack of one. He then remembers his backstory and briefly tells Megan that *her* kind abandoned her.

Megan remembers that the type-7 rovers like Richard landed on Mars using rocket-powered skycranes, and asks Richard to help her find his. He initially refuses, but realizes that he would be violating Rule One subroutine if she went out on her own and got hurt.

They embark on a trek to find the skycrane.

When they find the dust-covered wreckage of the skycrane, they find a man inspecting the wreckage himself. They introduce each other. The man explains he's an engineer who happened to crash his ship and was looking for replacement parts. Megan agrees to help the man, Carlos, with the repairs. Richard agrees belatedly.

They all work to repair the little rocket, and launch into space.

Without any ship to bring them elsewhere, they decide to visit the Used Ship Yard at Phobos.

They look at several spaceship designs. Richard likes the one with the capsule shape, but ultimately decides against it.

The salesman suggests a multipurpose vehicle geared for exploration and cargo shipping. Megan falls in love with it and immediately purchases it.

"Captain" Megan, with her first officer Richard and chief engineer Carlos, chart a course for that star over there, and Richard reminds Megan that it's only a sublight cargo ship. Carlos hints that there might be a way to remedy this.
