  1. 1) Young siblings survive many close calls with monsters in the park when said monsters escape from their confinements
  2.
  3. 2) A man who demonstrates his knowledge and coolness early in the film must protect the siblings with the help of a female partner
  4.
  5. 3) A very rich and well-intentioned businessman who wants to spare no expense to have the best park possible -- John Hammond / Irrfan Khan
  6.
  7. 4) A villain who wants to take the monster for his own gain -- Dennis Nedry / Vic Hoskins
  8.
  9. 5) Said villain is ultimately done in by one of the smaller monsters
  10.
  11. 6) The grand, sweeping shots of the park, set to that classic John Williams theme (arguably an homage, but still technically a similarity)
  12.
  13. 7) The man and his female partner encounter a large animal in need of serious medical attention -- they touch it in a caring manner and the movie stops for a while they show their compassion for the animal (arguably an homage, but still technically a similarity)
  14.
  15. 8) A comic relief character, that also shows bravery and knowledge, conveys foreboding/foreshadowing havoc at the park -- Dr. Ian Malcolm / Lowery
  16.
  17. 9) At the end the main characters are saved by a monster(s) who had previously threatened but ultimately attacked and fought off a more dangerous threat (arguably an homage, but still technically a similarity)
  18.
  19. 10) Any hope of the park going on to exist how it was after all above chaos is nil
  20.
  21. (I can go on if you really want me to. I'll probably have to watch the original movie again though because I'm going off memory and i haven't seen it in many years)
  22.
  23. So, because of any of the above, there's no way to argue the the statement "ONLY similarity is the setting/predominance of dinos." It's just wrong.
  24. To say that Jurassic Park "shouldn't logically be compared to Jurassic Park" is also wrong. Comparing any two action movies with a similar setting, character selection, tone, and conflict (not to mention all the similarities above) is always a fair and rightful thing to do.
  25. I never said your other statements about the movie were wrong. Just your original ones. You should have just accepted that and moved on, or rephrased.
