  1. Walking Dead Sound Upgrade v. 0.92 BETA
  2. These files will update and replace most of the files on a Stern Walking Dead Limited Edition Pinball Machine
  3. running the TWD125LE ROM (i.e., Game Code version 1.25). I have been told that it works with the Pro version as well,
  4. but I have not tested it. It may also work with the Premium, but again, I have not tested it.
  5.
  6. Use at your own risk. I accept no responsibility for any damage resulting from your voluntary download and install of this modification. I haven't even installed it on my own machine yet because my kid is sleeping...
  7.
  8. What you will need:
  9. - The Walking Dead LE Pinball Machine
  10. - Stern's Game Code version 1.23 for the Limited Edition (TWD123LE.bin) (http://www.sternpinball.com/game-code/game-code-the-walking-dead-le)
  11. - Pinball Browser (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/acdc-display-and-modify-dot-matrix-images)
  12. - TWD Soundpack and Pinball Browser Support Files Files (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bphwljj5ihkcrl7/TWD119LE%20Sound%20Replacement.zip?dl=0)
  13. - USB Drive
  14. - Notepad++ (optional) (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/)
  15.
  16. Download everything above. Notepad++ is useful if you want to change the location of where you put the sound samples.
  17. - Download and unzip the TWD Soundpack and Pinball Browser files (TWD_Sounds_Files.zip) to your C drive.
  18. - For the easiest install, unzip to your C: drive, where it will create a folder called "TWD_Sounds". Inside that folder will be the following file: TWD125LE.dat; and folders: "Macro", and "Custom_Sounds".
  19. - Macro should contain 'TWD125LE.pbm'
  20. - Custom Sounds should contain 1,346 .wav files.
  21. - NOTE: If you decided to save the files somewhere other than your C: drive in the folder TWD_Sounds, you will need to edit
  22. TWD125LE.pbm to reflect the location of the Sound Files. Also, the instructions below will be slightly modified.
  23. - Install Pinball Browser and make sure you can open the 1.25 Game Code with Pinball Browser. If you can, keep going.
  24. - Using Pinball Browser, save the original 1.25 Game Code in "C:\TWD_Sounds\" and uncheck the "Keep CRC Consistent" checkbox. Name the file "TWD125LE.bin"
  25. - Click the "Macros" button in Pinball Browser. If you want to load any patches, you shouldn't need these instructions, but do those first.
  26. - On the Macros page, click the "Load" icon and navigate to "C:\TWD_Sounds\Macro" and open "TWD125LE.pbm". Click "Run".
  27. - If you get errors, its mostly likely because it can't find the sound files, so either confirm that you saved your sounds are in C:\TWD_Sounds\Custom_Sounds or, using Notepad++, search and replace to update the path to whatever path you chose.
  28. - After it finishes running, click "Save As" and save your new bin file (again, with "Keep CRC Consistent" unchecked. I recommend saving to your hard drive, then copying it to a USB drive for the update, as I have had issues saving directly to the USB drive.
  29. - Update your Walking Dead Pinball machine, ignoring the Error you will get as described in the Pinball Browser thread. Do NOT verify the bin before you update the code.
  30. - Play
