Yuuyaki

Anon and Yuuyaki had been together for years and even made a home together. It was getting the the point where their relationship was ready to progress. Anon made attempts to ask Yuuyaki the question but repeatedly chickened out and abandoned his attempts. He even took her out for dinner with the idea of surprising her but Anon got stage-fright and failed again. He waited until a quiet day came along and the two sat together to enjoy a lazy day-off to make his move.

 

His hands trembled and Yuuyaki picked up on his rapid breaths and pounding heartbeat and reached out to him with concern. Yuuyaki put her hand on Anon's shoulder and instinctively he took out a velvet case and opened it to reveal a sparkling ring. He ranted on about how much he loved her. For Anon she brightened his days and how he wanted to journey through life with her by his side. It was all true, Anon loved Yuuyaki, and even enjoyed her bizarre friends and her eccentric personality.

 

Yuuyaki hadn't heard a word. She simply eyed the shiny ring until the urge to yank it from its box and slip it on her finger overwhelmed her. It sparkled in the light pouring in from the windows and Yuuyaki was enraptured by it. She forgot everything around her and even left her seat to walk around the home with her hand in front of her face 'It's so beautiful' she gushed 'I can't stop staring at it. I want to take it everywhere and show it to everyone!'

 

'Sweetie?' Anon followed Yuuyaki like a lost puppy 'Are you feeling okay?' This wasn't the first time Anon had seen this little "quirk" Yuuyaki had for shiny objects but he'd never seen her like this. He followed her around as she took the ring into every room to see it in a slightly different light. 'Yuuyaki come on, snap out of it.' As Yuuyaki was about to enter the kitchen he grabbed her left hand and pulled her in close 'You didn't give me an answer remember? Will you marry me?'

 

'Huh?' Yuuyaki shook herself out of her thousand yard stare and she locked her widened eyes with Anon's and her mouth agape 'Of course I'll marry you!' She leaped into Anon's arms with such enthusiasm that he buckled and had to awkwardly scrambled to hold on to something for leverage. He accidentally cupped a handful of her rear as he lifted both of them back up to their feet. Yuuyaki let out a delighted squeal and squeezed Anon tight 'I've gotta go tell everyone!' Yuuyaki planted hungry kisses on Anon 'They're going to be so happy for us!'
