  1. "You go to lunch. I'll shower. People will miss me less than they'll miss you."
  2.
  3. With that, Auto let Blood slide off of his lap and he stood, heading towards his room to get a few clothes. Then he went into the bathroom, starting up the water before going through the rest of his processes.
  4.
  5. Kyle could feel the other shift moods. Even from inside he knew when someone had a sudden mood shift. After stuffing a pen and small notepad into his hoodie, he decides what he was going to do.
  6.
  7. Gathering his plate and cup, he heads outside, motioning with his hand, asking if it were alright if they sat together.
  8.
  9. Blood arched a brow as he slid off the others lap, staying close to him even as they walked towards the door "Now that's not true and you know it." He huffed lightly before they parted ways and he sidled into the kitchen, grabbing a plate and some food before going to sit down in his usual spot. He'd hardly managed to put the food down before Arwin had decided to give him a rather rough bear hug. "aaagh You oaff not so rough jeez. And oh by the way no more playing 'lets see how far we can toss Bloo when he's not paying attention' and probably less of the arm wrestling because you jacked my hand up, doofus." He stuck his tongue out playfully as he sat down. Red paused amidst chewing a small bite of food, swallowing it quickly and nodding "Ah, yeah of course.." He curled his tail around his lap almost shyly " Don't have to ask me to sit on your own porch silly.." His ears flicked this way and that, eyes seeming to study him and yet not in an obnoxious manner.
  10.
  11. Kyle sits and immediately pulls out the notebook and pen.
  12.
  13. 'I know I don't /have/ to ask, but I figured you would appreciate being asked.'
  14.
  15. He offers a small smile before tucking his legs under him, starting to eat. Sort of. Kyle did his nibble routine, but mainly focused on his tea.
  16.
  17. Auto slides out of the shower and dressed, coming out of the bathroom after combing his hair. Sitting down in his normal spot, he starts writing out somethings for paperwork he would have to do later.
  18.
  19. "oh well.. thank you then" He coughed quietly and took another bite of his food, seeming to pick around for spicier bits and leaving some other things. Every couple of minutes he would pause to drink some of his tea, looking kind of funny with his large size and dainty small cup. And yet despite his size he actually was rather graceful with his movements. In fact, despite having eaten among almost gangsterous fighters for the last 40 years, and even after sitting out here alone, he was showing rather pristine table manners. Blood greeted him quietly before letting him focus on what he needed to do, quietly chewing his food and peering around for kyle. "Is he...??" Budo looked up from his plate "He didn't seem upset... Maybe he went out back.." Blood nodded, noting Katz was eating his food in the kitchen without much worry. Not quite... content.. but steady none the less "...hm.." That was new. He furrowed his brow for a moment before shrugging and going back to his food.
  20.
  21. Kyle offers Red a small smile, tilting his head some before starting to write again. The air was cold, and it made his hands cold and shaky, so his handwriting wasn't the best.
  22.
  23. 'It's okay, no need to thank me. Manners are manners after all. Is your food alright? You keep picking around it.'
  24.
  25. Of course Kyle would notice something like that. That was his job.
  26.
  27. Katz wasn't worried. He knew Kyle wasn't alone. He also knew that Kyle wouldn't need him to talk to the tall one. Whatever his name was.
  28.
  29. Dave shrugged, sipping his juice. He didn't really care where Kyle was, as long as that cat shut the fuck up for the rest of the night.
  30.
  31. Red took another bite, finishing it off before pausing to read the scrawled sentence. His brow arched just slightly, examining the others expression and rather shaky movements. For a moment one could have mistaken it as being nervous, but Red hoped that wasn't the case. They had just taken a nap together hardly an hour prior. " Ah.... The food is fine yes... I'm just a bit of a picky eater every now and then.. particularly during bouts of thought.." He gave a friendly grin and shrugged. Quietly he noted that the seasons were slowly starting to change. The leaves finally beginning to change color. Which would mean chilly weather and earlier sunsets. He peered back over to Kyle, head tilting a bit. Was he shivering? He looked down for a short moment, hesitating before taking the others hand softly in his own and giving a gentle squeeze. As a general rule, red almost always acted like a personal heater, keeping a rather high body temperature. Then again, that was to be expected. He was made of stars after all. He frowned a bit. "Your hands are like ice.... Are you too cold?.." an honest but concerned look crossed his face as he looked up to the other. " We could go inside if you want..". After finishing his few bits of food Blood had wandered off. It was a wonder he had gained any mass back onto him, as he had a habit of hardly eating and, in cases of of distress, refusing to eat at all. There had been a few times where he had eaten a full meal though, usually which Kyle had made pasta dishes, along with the couple times he'd made fish or other odd cuisines. One would note he tended to have a taste for foreign dishes, those which included seafood in particular. However, due to being stuck between mountains those things weren't that easy to come by. Not that Blood would ever complain, he just didn't quite fancy the ordinary. He was the kind to choose cheese, olives, and crackers over potato chips or cookies. He paused in the hallway, stretching before slinking off to find a place to take his own nap. Instead of the balcony he had opted for the loveseat in Auto's room. Which wasn't unusual, seeing as he'd periodically curled up there to nap or sun bathe in the light from the window even before Red had joined the household. That being said, if the other needed privacy or was busy he would vacate the room without protest, albeit tiredly. He curled up with his back facing the room, his face nestled against the pillow on the arm of the Loveseat.
  32.
  33. Kyle blinks at his hand being held, face flushing a soft pink. Shaking his head, he gives Red's hand a small squeeze, smiling at him. He would much rather be too cold than have Red be nervous or uncomfortable.
  34.
  35. What a darling angel.
  36.
  37. As everyone else begins to finish, Auto sticks around, writing a bit more before gathering his things, heading back to his room. He smiles at the napping Blood, moving to pull a blanket over him.
  38.
  39. Moving to his room's desk, he finished up something from earlier.
  40. Red tilts his head a bit, nodding for a moment "Are you sure?.. well... Alright.. But if you change your mind just let me know." He exhaled quietly, and rather than pull away kept the others hand in his own. This sort of temperature was nice to him, honestly. He enjoyed hot foods because to him they were only warm, and spicy because of a personal preference. As for outside temperatures the colder the better. It soothed him due to his high body temperature and he could lay out in it even naked if he wanted to without feeling cold. Snow had always fascinated him. Cold to the touch and beautiful if not dirtied by road salt. He'd always dreamed of building snowmen and forts and other sculptures or just flopping down and making a snow angel. All of the things that the others that surrounded him had told him about. But from the moment he was taken to earth he had been under Roswells control. He'd never gotten the chance to do any of the things. He never had much of a chance to do anything "fun" really. Roswell had always expected him to be serious. Red had no idea what movies or video games were other than by word of mouth, although he knew how a TV worked, mainly because roswell would give orders over them periodically. He'd never ridden a bike or played in the sand. He'd never tried jump rope or board games. He'd never been to a carnival or a fair or amusement park. He'd have no clue what a roller coaster was. Never had a chance to eat fried dough. Jumping into a pile of colored leaves was as foreign as playing in the snow to him. Fishing? whats that? Ferris wheel? You actually go in that thing? hiking for fun and not work? never tried it. The only form of "game" he was used to were those that were based around wrestling or training, as those were common amongst where he had been stuck for the last few decades. Blood slept soundly for once, not stirring or whimpering or writhing. It kept the peace and quiet for Auto, allowing him to work without many distractions.
  41.
  42. The pink haired boy soon became too cold to properly work a fork. Setting it down, he shivers slightly, wishing he had brought a bigger coat. It never occurred to him how cold it was getting lately.
  43.
  44. His silver eyes glance around and he notes how much he liked the fall. All of the colors were so nice to look at, and all of the pumpkin or cinnamon flavored things were about to be on sale and. Well. He was just excited.
  45.
  46. Squeezing Red's hand softly, Kyle continues to look around, noting anything he may need to tell Auto about. Like the dead tree near one of their fields that looked like it was about to topple over. Or how the creek seemed to be getting low, and so they would have to be careful with water till it rained next.
  47.
  48. Which honestly should be soon, no big deal.
  49.
  50. Red noticed the others shivering only seemed to get worse and after a few more minutes of observing him scan the yard, he stood up, collecting their dishes in one hand and balancing them surprisingly well. He offers his free hand to the quivering other, giving an apologetic but friendly smile "C'mon, let's head inside, okay?" He waited for the other to take his hand and stand, letting go of it only the open the door and then hold it open for the other to go in first. He shut it behind them with a cough, following Kyle to the kitchen before scraping his plate. To kyle's surprise he did the dishes too, tail bubbling and flicking around in almost a cobra motion as if to entertain him. Blood woke up with a small squeak, blinking and taking a moment to realize where he was before yawning and stretching out a bit. A small wince escaped his lips as he sat up, hand reaching up to gingerly feel the side of his neck. "God damn it.." He muttered at the sore muscle, wondering how he'd managed to sleep like that for so long.
  51.
  52. Kyle was still shivering even after the dishes were finished. He tries to warm his hands by blowing air on them, but it didn't seem to be helping much. Once Red was done, Kyle led him back into the living room, plopping on the couch, and tucking his legs under him. God he was so cold, the poor thing. Pulling out his notebook, he writes out to Red.
  53.
  54. 'Do you want to maybe watch a movie or something? I could make us hot chocolate, and we could get a blanket and share it or something. I'm. Really cold.'
  55.
  56. Auto blinks when the other awakens, immediately
  57. wondering what was wrong. When he realized it was just a crick in his neck, Auto smiles, tilting his head some.
  58.
  59. "You can lay down on the bed if you wanted. Stretch out some?"
  60.
  61. "Oh.. Hot chocolate and blankets does sound nice. I'm sorry we stayed out there for so long... watch a... a what?..." His brow furrowed as he perched next to the other. He tilted his head, a confused look taking his face."er... whats.. whatever you just said..." He frowned a bit sheepishly. Blood paused at Auto's voice, somehow seeming to have missed he was in the room as he'd sat up. "mmh.. Thank you." He hummed as he stood up, stretching his legs and arms with a yawn. A groan escaped him as his pants slid down with the stretch, almost not being able to get his arms down in time to catch them and pull them back up. It always happened to him but it was a bit embarrassing in front of someone else. He leaned over, giving him a soft kiss on the temple before crawling into his bed and laying out on his stomach. He buried his face into the others pillow, inhaling with a purr before exhaling a content sigh and nuzzling into the blankets.
  62.
  63. 'A moo-vee. Say it like that. It's. You'll see.'
  64.
  65. Kyle smiles and gets up, moving to get some hot chocolate started before digging around for a movie. Why not go with classical Disney? He pulls out a VHS for Mulan, popping it in and letting it rewind while he finishes up the hot cocoa.
  66.
  67. Once that's done, he disappears to his room, getting a few blankets to throw on the couch, along with his pillows. They were going to do this right or not at all.
  68.
  69. Then he motions for Red to sit down, hitting play on the VCR. He sits with the other, making sure Red has his space if he wants it.
  70.
  71. "..movie?.. hm..." He blinked, bewildered look staying on his face as Kyle scuttled about grabbing things and popping something into a slot above the TV. How brow furrowed, staring at the case Kyle had tossed on the coffee table ".... " He broke his gaze, smiling as kyle scurried back with hot cocoa and warm blankets. He lets the other get things settled before setting himself on his usual spot on the couch with his tail hanging over the arm. He leaned back, not seeming to mind the others presence as he sat down. Might have actually been the most relaxed Red had looked since the man had been here. His face was less serious and more curious than anything. He squinted a bit watching the screen, arching a brow before smiling a bit. This was interesting. Artwork that moved and talked like a story come to live. Rather cutely dont art he might have added. he took a moment to drape the blankets over their lap before taking a sip of his drink and re-focusing on the movie in front of them.
  72.
  73. As the movie progressed, Kyle ended up scooting closer to Red, trying to escape the chilly draft Auto had 'been meaning to fix'. When Red covers their legs, Kyle gives in and carefully presses into Red, sucking up all of his warn heat.
  74.
  75. Kyle enjoyed the fact that Red seemed content and relaxed. It made him feel good about his ability to help people. After all, Red didn't seem to be doing a good enough job by himself.
  76.
  77. Eventually Katz joins them, curling around Kyle like another blanket. So Kyle had found a new friend. That was always good.
  78.
  79. Red only seemed to tense up for a moment when Kyle managed to stuff himself against his side before he relaxed again slowly. He kept his focus on the movie for periods, perplexed by the excellence that these movies tended to be. Something he had never seen before. Though, every now and again he would check up on Kyle, also slightly bewildered at his sudden change towards him. A few days ago he wouldn't even go near him let alone curl up against him so closely. He didn't mind it though, even if affection was just as uncommon to him as it had been to Blood. It felt nice, which was more than he could say for how he usually felt.
  80.
  81. Kyle liked how warm Red felt. The poor thing was still pretty frozen, down to the core even. Katz had noted and he had wordlessly warned Kyle to start wearing better clothes. The boy nods down at the cat, sighing in return
  82.
  83. It wasn't new to anyone that the two could talk wordlessly between themselves, being inseparable definitely gave them the advantage. Almost like they had practiced it. Granted they hadn't and it was literally a dumb skill they had, they still played it like they had spent a lot of time working on it.
  84.
  85. When honestly, they just learned to do it as their friendship progressed.
  86.
  87. Red smiled as the movie finished, leaning back and stretching his legs. "Well. That was intense.. very interesting... Theres a lot of stuff like this or??" He tilted his head as he peered down to kyle, part of his bright cerise colored bangs falling in his face as he did. His tail stood out more at night, a glowing cloud of stars in a mostly dark room. It bubbled up different colors from its place rested over the arm of the couch. Blood awoke with a bit of a start, hands clinging to the first thing they could find as his eyes shot open "f-fuck..." he exhaled a shaky breath, letting his eyes adjust as he attempted to ward off the sudden PTSD panic attack. He furrowed his brow in frustration, he thought he would have gotten over this by now but here he was again.
  88.
  89. He smiles at the other, leaning forward to get his notebook. Writing a bit, he makes sure to keep it neat and legible. It'd be embarrassing if the other couldn't read it.
  90.
  91. 'There's bunches and bunches! We could watch a live action instead of animated next. If you wanted I mean. It's up to you.'
  92.
  93. Kyle smiles sweetly at the other, reaching up to tuck the bangs back. He smiles again, running his hands the rest of the way through Red's hair, making sure it stayed out of his face.
  94.
  95. Meanwhile, Auto is immediately at the other's side, petting him gently before pulling him into his arms. He holds him gently, whispering that he was alright. This typically had fixed the other's panics, and so Auto always made sure to do it in an exact way.
  96.
  97. "Ah.. We could, yeah" He smiled softly, shifting to face the other. "I wouldn't mind that. They seem pretty cool.. But not tonight.. I haven't been uh.. sleeping really well and I'm kind of struggling to not act tired" he gave a sheepish smile and paused as the other ran a hand through his colorful hair, almost finding himself leaning towards his hand for a moment. He noticed the cat was already down the hall and thought for a split moment, quietly stopping kyle as he was about to get up. He clenched his jaw for a second, swallowing hard before leaning and giving him a soft kiss on the forehead. He let himself linger before recoiling shyly, coughing to himself and biting his knuckle for a moment "... I'm.. I'm sorry.. aha.... " his tail almost seemed to shudder and he glared at it for a second before hesitantly turning his gaze back to the other " a-ah.." He sighed in near frustration as he stuttered. "I Don't mean to keep you from your usual routine... I know your moon awaits you.." he swallowed and gave an apologetic smile before returning his gaze to the floor. Blood flinched at the sudden contact, almost pulling away out of instinct as he felt the tears well up in his eyes before he saw Auto's face and stopped struggling. Normally he was able to gather himself within a few seconds and relax but he couldn't quite stop himself this time. He knew he was alright. Or at least was almost sure. But he couldn't stop thinking about things he didn't ever want to remember. Things that should have never occurred. Things not even Red could stop from happening. Things that were literally carved into his back that he could not erase no matter how hard he tried. he stared at his hands as they shook, glaring at them even. It embarrassed him that he couldn't collect himself in from of Auto and he shuddered in frustration as he buried his face in his hands, whimpering a repetition of "I'm sorry"s.
  98.
  99. 'Well I'm always around!'
  100.
  101. Kyle smiles at him again, only letting the corners of his mouth drop when the other kisses his forehead. He closes his eyes for a bit, before looking up at the other, smile immediately returning.
  102.
  103. 'You can sleep in my bed, if you want. It fits you better.'
  104.
  105. As the other keeps talking, Kyle's smile droops a bit, feeling awkward about the whole thing now. Red wasn't smiling back, which was weird. And it. Almost was like he was trying to get rid of the other.
  106.
  107. 'I can sleep in Arwin's room. He doesn't mind.'
  108.
  109. Or he wouldn't at least. Without much room for argument, Kyle stands, grabbing a heavier coat before going to sit in his usual spot, trying to figure out what all is going on. Anymore.
  110.
  111. Anyway.
  112.
  113. Auto tells Blood that it's alright. He holds him still, kissing the top of his head while gently rocking him, hoping to calm him a bit further. This was so normal for him. Between Dave, Kyle, and Blood, this was nothing.
  114.
  115. He let out the breath he was holding. He felt bad for suddenly clamming up and going cold on the other but he had no fucking clue what he was doing or where he wanted to go with it. "What the fuck Red. What are you thinking. Are you thinking??" He groaned at himself, rubbing his arms. " This human body is getting to me. I'm starting to feel what they do. Fucking tedious" He muttered and laid back on the couch, crossing his arms behind his head and staring at the ceiling. "What do I even do?... Give into it?.. and then what?" A heavy sigh escaped his lips and he lowered his voice an octave, turning it to a monotone and yet stern tone " blah blah 'Ahhmar it's a human not one of us' blah ' Don't fall out of species' blah 'Ahhmar you're a fucking disgrace' " He sneered then chortled at his imitation of his 'father' and let himself stretch out. Blood finally managed to stop his sobs, wiping his eyes as he rested his head against the others chest. He let out a groan as they replaced themselves with periodic hiccups. How fucking embarrassing. His arms hooked around the others sides, resting gently on his shoulders as he buried his face further against Auto's chest as if attempting to hide his red cheeks and smother the feint -hic- noises that he produced.
  116. Kyle stays outside longer than usual. This is mostly because his body was frozen to the core. It was also because he didn't feel like facing Red.
  117.
  118. He quietly wondered to himself what HE was thinking. There wasn't any way anyone like Red would enjoy his company.
  119.
  120. And he felt stupid for thinking he would. Who even really wanted to be friends with him? He couldn't even talk.
  121.
  122. Auto rocks and holds him gently, telling the other he was alright. That he was safe. Which, in the long run, he was. Whether or not he felt safe in the short run was up to him.
  123.
  124. Reds tail shuddered and he blinked at it, quietly staring at the sudden ribbons of violet and blue that wound through the usually warm colored stars.. it was highly unusual for them to display such behaviour when not prompted by Red himself and he couldn't recall prompting it at all. A shallow sigh escaped him as he touched his forehead gingerly, cornered look staying on his face for a moment. "...???" He groaned and sat up, swishing his tail around and snorting sternly as it seemed to refuse to listen, instead reaching out in another direction "What is your issue.." He grunted. Eventually Blood's hiccups stopped and he managed to even his breathing. He sighed quietly in relief, almost letting himself get surprised the other had managed to hold him for so long before immediately realizing it was probably really stupid to get surprised about that. The embrace was comforting and he let himself enjoy it for another moment or so before opening his mouth to talk. He made a face as nothing but a squeak managed to find its way out before he cleared his throat. "Could.. could we lay down maybe?...." He asked quietly, "Unless you're still busy of course..."
  125.
  126. Katz sighs quietly, wishing the other could stop his mind from buzzing. It seemed like it was a hopeless idea, but it was some kind of idea. He already knew Kyle was bent on some kind of decision, but Katz didn't know exactly what it was.
  127.
  128. He just knew it was a bad idea. And that he was cold.
  129.
  130. "Yes darling. It's late anyway, I'm done working for tonight."
  131.
  132. Auto wiggles a bit, laying down before pulling Bloo down with him, letting the snuggles commence.
  133.
  134. Red sighed heavily and stared at his tail for a moment before peering over to the clock. It was almost 11 and he seemed a bit perplexed as to why Kyle would still be outside. Usually he'd have come in by now. And Red knew he wasn't mistaken, he'd have heard the other come in. He was in the living room a lot and it was hard for something to miss his ears unless he was in a deeper state of "sleep". He gave a guilty grunt and hoisted himself off the couch, stretching his limbs a bit before walking through the kitchen to the front door ".... " He hesitated a moment before opening it and poking his head out. The moon was still bright and full and there wasn't a cloud in the sky, the air a crisp chill that eased into his lungs. It smelled nice and was a bit of a comfort to him, but to others it might be quite a bit chilly. He turned his head to the left, spotting the other perched on the railing. He cleared his throat quietly to announce his presence before stepping out and shutting the door behind him "Kyle?... What are you doing out here still?... Usually you're in bed by now.." He frowned, aquatic blue eyes kindling concern as he looked the other over. Blood crawled back into bed with Auto, cuddling up to him eagerly. It didn't take him long to find himself tangled up in the other. He'd have liked to fall asleep that way but couldn't quite get there. It was his own fault though, having taken the nap not to long ago. Relaxing was nice too though, and he let himself nestle up against the other before absentmindedly tracing across his torso, starting at his chest and working his way over the others abdomen and sides. They wound their way back up before working their way around the other's collarbone and shoulders, sliding down his arms intricately to his wrists. His touch was surprisingly gentle for being the same limbs that had effortlessly broke someone’s nose not too long ago, an intimate display of his control over the limbs his lover had built him.
  135.
  136. Kyle tenses a bit before the other starts talking. Then he turns a bit to look at him, shrugging a bit before hopping off of the banister. He's sure not to jostle Katz so much before walking towards the door, almost shoving past Red.
  137.
  138. Almost.
  139.
  140. Getting a notepad, he generically writes out that he was sleeping on the couch tonight. No question about it. Then he shoves (which was basically gently thrusting it at the other, in hopes that he'd grab the paper) it into Red's chest, moving to fix up the bed a bit more.
  141.
  142. Katz sits down at Red's feet, sighing as he watched Kyle work, though it was hard for him, considering he was back to shivering. Poor thing.
  143.
  144. "You offended him. Just thought you should know."
  145.
  146. The cat talks softly, not wanting it to reach Kyle's ears. He would deny it all day long if it did.
  147.
  148. Meanwhile, Auto sighs softly. He wasn't exactly tired either, and he wasn't near having to switch to his extra battery. Instead he just closed his eyes and focussed on the fingers tracing his 'skin' softly. It was a nice feeling, honestly.
  149.
  150. His fingers gently run though Bloo's hair, before he sits back to pull his arm out from under the other. Mainly to braid Blood's bangs, unbraiding them, braiding them again. He just needed to keep his fingers busy.
  151.
  152. "... " He frowns at the others behavior change, sighing and taking the paper from him gently "But... "He opened his mouth to protest but only a grunt seemed to want to come out as he stared at the other, watching him rustle around. He seemed a bit startled with it all and blinked down at the cat "I...." He sighed again and rubbed his arms, unsure of what to do. "... Kuro have mercy" He muttered under his breath as he shut the door behind them again and walked into the livingroom "Kyle... You don't have to do this.. I'm okay sleeping on the couch.. You deserve to sleep in your own bed.." He paused, not wanting to offend the other any more than he already had " I mean.. I appreciate the thought though... And.. I'm.." he bit his lip gingerly "I'm uh.. sorry for what I did.. I mean.. not the... hhhh" he rubbed his face in a bit of embarrassment. He didn't like letting others see him struggle with things. ".. I'm sorry for my poor behavior... I've.. got a lot to learn about.. people.." He frowned ,giving a distressed gaze as he watched the other. Blood frowned as he pulled back a bit at first before registering what he was doing and relaxing again. He kissed at his palms with a soft grin when given the chance, fingers slowing with their tracing. They took curious loops around the others body, as if painting an abstract picture on a living canvas.
  153.
  154. Kyle paused in his work, nose crinkling at the other's words. No one denied his kindness. No one. There's an unspoken rule about Kyle Kindness. And that's that you don't deny it.
  155.
  156. Very simple.
  157.
  158. As the other rolled on, and babbled a bit, Kyle sighs, tossing down the pillow he was casing. Walking up to the other, he holds his hand out to stop, making sure he ceased speaking.
  159.
  160. Once there was silence, Kyle gently took Red's hands into his own, leaning up to press his pierced mouth gently against Red's. They stay like that for a moment before Kyle pulls away, awaiting a reaction.
  161.
  162. In other news.
  163.
  164. Auto sighs softly before letting his fingers rest. There were a lot of things buzzing in his mind. Things that he wanted to talk about. But he'd save them for later.
  165.
  166. Red frowned as Kyle made a face, he opened his mouth to chirp more apologies only to have himself halted. Another alarm set off and for the first time since he had been here someone actually got to see his fluffy pink ears actually droop down. it seemed as if he might actually whimper had the other not taken his hands suddenly. He frowned again at how cold they were but was taken a bit off guard by the notion that followed. Kissing, to his kind, was sort of null and really didn't have much of a meaning to it. But, from his time here he'd learned from others that there was some sort of intimate importance to it. He'd explored with kisses on the temple or forehead because under some conditions, like comforting a child, were appropriate. Till now though, a kiss on the lips was something he really didn't think he'd get. He knew it was of a higher importance, and he knew why, he'd witnessed it between others. Receiving one was something different entirely though, especially since well.. He kind of was an oversized freakish pink alien. His breath hitched a bit with the kiss, tail bubbling up and the mute blues slid into a magenta color. He flustered wildly even as the others lips, tail lighting up enough to shower the room in a soft pink light. He caught kyles hands before they could leave him, holding them for a moment. He wanted to speak and yet the words didn't want to seem to leave his mouth. He gave a warm smile, sheepish but heartfelt before he turned kyles hand over, quietly spelling out a thank you by delicately tracing out each letter over the others palm with his thumb. Blood frowned at the others sigh, head tilting a bit as the others hands stilled. He took Auto's hands in his own, bringing them up to his face to kiss at them for a moment before setting them down and wiggling up closer to the other again. He nudged there faces together for a moment, noses and foreheads touching before he pulled back only slightly to peer at him. "What's caught your mind love?" He asked with a soft coo and a curious expression.
  167.
  168. Kyle smiles and nods, removing his hands from Red's so they could gently cup his face. Raising a bit onto his tiptoes, Kyle kisses him again, a little longer. Then he drops down again, smiling again.
  169.
  170. Sitting from his starting point, Katz sat there looking rather lost and confused. Kyle hadn't thought like that before. Not that he knew of. Once he finally reconnected, he made a rather disgusted face.
  171.
  172. "Kyle! You know better. That's /gross/."
  173.
  174. Kyle crinkled his nose with a smile, taking Red's hand, leading the bigger male back to his bedroom, letting him know it was okay for him to lay down.
  175.
  176. Auto huffs quietly, trying to piece together just what he was thinking. He shifts a bit, staring up the ceiling.
  177.
  178. "A few things. Mainly about a few friends we haven't seen in a bit. They're usually around every few months."
  179.
  180. The second time around Red had let himself kiss back a little bit, albeit nervously. His tail bubbled up with color again, taking a few moments before it settled down into a less bright but still warm pink. His ears had perked again, finally, and his head tilted with the reaction of the cat. A little kiss wasn't that gross, was it? He'd definitely seen more sloppy kisses in his time on this planet. It baffled him a little bit from his view, but he didn't question it and instead found himself being led along down the hall to the others room. He sighed softly, still feeling a little bad for taking the others bed, but he didn't want to offend him any more than he already had and so with only a few seconds of hesitation curled up on the others bed. Which was a bit of a surprise to him, as until now he hadn't really noticed how comfy it actually was. He'd never actually had a chance to sleep on a real bed till the nap earlier, come to think of it. He'd always slept on a bunk when he was stuck with Roswell and had slept on the couch since he had been here. That plus he was rather tense and nervous earlier. It only just happened to dawn on him how nice it actually felt. He felt a deeper pull into his mind, much more than what he was used to. For a moment he fought it, blinking himself awake almost nervously, but after a few moments he gave in, letting himself fall into his limbo. Or, rather, what he thought would be his usual limbo. His head leaned back, a tired plume of stars sliding from his nostrils. For the first time in a couple hundred years, Ahhmar fell asleep at his throne. Blood's gaze followed the others for a moment, peering at the ceiling with an almost curious expression. As if he thought the others thoughts would be written there. Though, of course, they weren't, and he knew that. He peered for a moment more before taking his gaze back down to the others fair face. " Oh? So there's more people that come around here?" He asked quietly, " What are they like?" His eyes studied the others face, hands silently playing with the others hand that was closest.
  181.
  182. Kyle smiled softly at how quickly the other fell asleep. He moved around his room a bit, debating on pajamas. In the end he decided on some pajama shorts and no shirt.
  183.
  184. Laying down beside the other, he kept his back turned as much as possible. His front and sides were covered in too many scars. Or so he thought.
  185.
  186. Auto sighs and smiles faintly, remembering the people who he missed dearly. "They're so... Eccentric. There's no explaining them."
  187.
  188. Which was true. Bloo would have to find out for himself.
  189.
  190. It wasn't long before Red's usual quiet snore started, tail fluttering as small shades of peach and baby pink drifted around in the stars. The cloudy mass quivered a bit before spreading out and covering the two of them almost like a blanket. Eventually Red shifted a bit in his sleep, forehead coming to rest against between Kyle's shoulder blades. Not quite enough to allow him to enter Red's world, but most likely enough to give the young male sweeter dreams of floating in a sea of stars. Floating peacefully and tempted by a far light he could see in the distance and yet couldn't quite reach. Blood blinked but gave a slight smile. "Well.. I hope I get a chance soon then.." He cuddled his cheek against the others arm, hands still absent mindedly playing with the others.
  191.
  192. He struggled to fall asleep until he felt the almost same pull Red had. His mind plummeted into the sea of stars and he let out a long sigh, sleeping fully for the first time in days.
  193.
  194. That is until his internal clock woke him early in the morning. Thinking on it, it was Saturday. No one was awake. Therefore he wouldn't get out of bed. Instead he rolled over and watched Red a bit, wondering when he would awaken.
  195.
  196. "Soon yes. I can feel it. They'll be here."
  197.
  198. Auto watches the sun rise, letting himself relax a little bit. His body puts him into a short stand-by mode.
  199.
  200. The serious look that usually plagued his face wasn't there for once as he remained asleep, soft snore still drifting around. His peach hued tail twitched as the other moved and shifted and wound itself loosely around the others arm as if scared they would leave again. Red grunted slightly, legs shifting around a bit as he murmured something rather inaudible. For a second it seemed He'd wake up but after a few moments he settled back down into a soft sleep. Blood had managed to fall back asleep with his face nudged under the others arm, hiding his eyes from the sun as it cast a warm glow over the both of them. Which, to Blood, was just as much of a blessing as it was an annoyance at that angle. He wouldn't say he was fond of bright light in his face but the mornings were starting to bring a chill and so the sunlight brought a nice feeling along with it.
  201.
  202. When the other begins to seem like he is about to awaken, Kyle holds his breath, hoping that all of his movement wouldn't be the cause. When the tail wrapped around his wrist, he let out a small sigh, relaxing again before closing his eyes for a bit longer.
  203.
  204. He knew he couldn't sleep all day. However, he did sleep until almost 11 which was strange for him. Opening his eyes again, he stares a little at Red, trying to piece out how he would move without disturbing the other.
  205.
  206. For right now, he just stayed put.
  207.
  208. He didn't have to wait much longer anyway. About 10 minutes later Red woke up with a bit of a start, almost as if he was surprised he even asleep. He gave a few drowsy and slightly confused blinks, peering around the room "....." He was still a bit hazed from sleep but he felt surprisingly... well rested.. Which was more than he could ever say really. Then again at the same time he was still tired. But that didn't go without reason. If he /really/ wanted to catch up on "sleep" he could probably hibernate for several long months to a year (which counted for even more time in his own 'world' ) without ingesting food or water. This was harmless to him as a whole, however, his "human" body would likely deteriorate quite a large bit while dormant unless someone managed to take care of it. He wasn't counting on going dormant anyway, at least not for a couple hundred more years. He was somewhat due for one but had been pushing it off. A) because he still had things to take care of and B) once decided he couldn't really control it and he didn't want to scare someone if he didn't wake up in the morning or just dropped suddenly and wouldn't get back up. It could easily be mistaken as a human coma by most. He stretched his limbs with a low groan before relaxing and humming a quiet "good morning"
  209. Kyle blinked at the other's words before smiling a bit. He ran his fingers through Red's hair before retracting his hand to sign something general for 'brush your teeth'.
  210.
  211. Kyle would be honest. Red had some horrid morning breath. Horrible, horrible morning breath. But Kyle wouldn't blame him.
  212.
  213. His bed was pretty comfortable.
  214.
  215. Considering what his breath was probably made up of after actually fully sleeping, he wasn't surprised either. He covered his mouth to discreetly smother his smile and quiet laughter before hoisting himself off the bed. He stretched his back one more time before sauntering down the hall with a yawn, finding the bathroom and shutting the door half way before giving his teeth and galaxy splattered tongue a rather rigorous brushing. Budo woke up with his own laugh, squinting at the position Dave had managed to shift himself into amidst sleeping. He drowsily tugged the hair tie from his long lavender hair before absentmindedly slinging it across the room, only seeming to realize it probably wasn't the best idea after he'd already shot it. Why Dave thought it was a good idea to keep the glass vases he made in their room was beyond what Budo could think up but he'd still feel guilty. He winced with a flinch as one of them teetered but stayed on the bed. Knowing his luck if he moved it'd fall for sure. A relieved breath of air escaped his lungs as it seemed to catch its own equilibrium and settle without falling.
  216.
  217. Dave hadn't realized that he was halfway off of the bed. Not until Budo shifted the wrong way, which put Dave in the floor. Groaning, Dave opened his eyes, blinking tiredly around. His bad eye flicked around with his good one, but it was in vain. Nothing had been seen by that eye in almost 15 years. Auto had often offered to replace it, but Dave didn't deem it necessary.
  218.
  219. Shifting in the floor, Dave rolls over onto his back, blinking up at the ceiling. Then he sits up, crawling back onto the bed.
  220.
  221. Slurring out a good morning, Dave leans against Budo, eyes drooping closed again.
  222.
  223. His cheek is red from the connection with the floor, and it still has a few mattress indents on it.
  224.
  225. He blinked and giggled as the other fell, grinning slightly and offering his hand to help pull him back on the bed. Once the other was settled he pulled his fingers loosely through his violet hair a few times, collecting loose strands and brushing them into the trash can near the bed before letting his hair cascade over his pale shoulders again. "Good morning sleepy" He hummed quietly. He enjoyed moments like this where he could speak softly without someone trying to talk over him. Having someone who would actually want to hear what he had to say. Who actually thought his ideas were important and worth listening to. Which was more than what he could say for the rest of the house. It made him at ease and his stutter faded away when he could talk like this.. And for the moment, he actually felt normal.
  226.
  227. "Why'd ya let me fall in the floor? I was comfy."
  228.
  229. His words are still tired. Lately Dave hadn't been able to sleep much. Part of it was because of that damned cat, putting everyone on edge because of Kyle. The other part was because of that damned new guy.
  230.
  231. Things just /bothered/ him lately. He sighs a bit and turns to nudge into Budo's shoulder.
  232.
  233. "I'm sorry deary, it wasn't on purpose.." He frowned and leaned his head down to place a line of delicate kisses across the others forehead. He showered him with affections between cooed apologies and quiet nuzzles. A grumpy Dave wasn't always a good Dave but he knew how to butter him up. Giving him his full attention and focus was one way of doing it, and often probably took Dave's mind off of a lot of stressful bothersome things. Probably also one of the reasons Dave couldn't stay mad at Budo for very long.
  234.
  235. He yawns a bit more and sits up, almost sniffing the air. Dave guessed that Kyle wasn't up yet, so it wasn't quite time for breakfast. With that deduced, he squirms a bit to face Budo more, kissing on his cheek gently. What a nerd.
  236.
  237. "You still need a haircut."
  238.
  239. His fingers gently twirl the dead ends of Budo's hair around, curling them slightly. Needing a haircut wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Dave was just noting it for memories sake.
  240.
  241. Budo grinned and nudged his forehead against the others , arms wrapping loosely around his waist as he watched the other play with his hair. "Mmm I know.. I'll get it trimmed soon probably" He didn't want to admit he'd been avoiding it for awhile now. he stretched himself out lazily, brow furrowing as he stared up at the ceiling for a moment. Blood woke up with his face nudged further under Auto's arm. How he managed to breathe that way was questionable but he seemed comfy enough that way. He pulled away for a moment, stretching and yawning. He peered around, noting the time before peering to the other who seemed to still be in an idle mode. He blinked and smiled, leaning to give him a peck on the cheek before lifting himself out of bed to pull on his pair of pants and shirt. The air was still chilly to his surprise, autumn was rolling in quickly this year. They hadn't really gone and gotten him clothes for cold weather yet and he rubbed his arms with a grunt. He paused for a moment before borrowing one of Auto's flannels, pulling it on with a quiet huff and stepping out into the hall curiously. He peered to the right and frowned a bit. Seemed everyone else had slept in too for once, as the house seemed rather quiet. He turned to the left, jumping slightly with a startled chirp as he faced Red's chest. "j esus good morning hello" Bloo chittered quietly. "..." His brows were furrowed, narrowed cyan eyes slowly peering from him to the doorway and back again before clearing his throat. He blinked down at the flannel for a moment, brow arching. Blood winced and shuffled backwards a few inches "ahaaaa... I'm... gunna go cook brunch..." he swallowed hard and quickly slid down the hall and into the kitchen. "...." Red sighed and walked back down the hall to Kyles room. He paused, blinking at the meowing complaining cat at his feet which he immediately scooped up and plopped on the bed. Blood shook his head once in the kitchen alone, exhaling a long sigh before rolling up his sleeves slightly, washing his hands, and beginning to prepare a meal. It had occured to him that he hadn't actually cooked for the house yet, and so he decided to take it upon himself and let Kyle relax, he deserved it. After all, meals have a tendancy to taste a little better when you're not the one who has to cook them for once. His cooking wasn't identical to Kyles, that was for sure, but he wasn't quite an amateur and had his own unique styles and flavours to offer. He got to work, making gourmet omelettes and home fries among pancakes, cold pasta salad, fruit salad, and coldcuts for those who prefered lunch foods.
  242.
  243. "I would do it for you, but I can't judge the length very well. Unless you're okay with giant spots missing and rough edges."
  244.
  245. Dave hums and moves to kiss along the other's jaw. His fingers slide under the other's shirt, tickling at his sides. He could feel Budo slipping into a weird mood, and he wasn't about to leave the other like that.
  246.
  247. "Smells like someone is cooking. Doesn't smell like Kyle's cooking though."
  248.
  249. Meanwhile, Kyle shifts a bit, smiling at Red. He holds the cat to his chest, scooching back a bit so Red could sit or lay back down, whatever he wanted.
  250.
  251. While Bloo cooked, a sudden shrill noise rang through the house. Auto opens his eyes and sighs, heading down to the kitchen. He mumbles that it was the phone before picking up the small handheld from its receiver.
  252.
  253. "Bonjour, Auto parler."
  254.
  255. He listened to the other line, being confused as a French jail station message came on. Sighing, he pressed the appropriate buttons.
  256.
  257. "Oui?"
  258.
  259. Dave had drug Budo downstairs at this point, wondering who was calling them. It wasn't often they got a call from someone. He notices Blood cooking, and he rolled his eyes a bit, dropping down in his usual seat.
  260.
  261. Kyle is next to come out, Red following behind as Katz curled around Kyle's shoulders. Even they looked confused, the phone call sending worry straight to the pit of Kyle's stomach. Who could it be??
  262.
  263. Budo squeaked and wiggled under the loose grasp, giving a small smile and turning his head to catch a kiss on the lips as he held back laughter. They wiggled around like that for a moment, managing to drown out their insecurities for the moment and regain their composure. He blinked and sniffed the air at the comment before nodding "...Mmm.. Smells pretty good though" Red had settled down, perching on the edge of the bed and watching the two cuddle as they settled into a comfortable quiet. That was, until the phone rang. Blood blinked and almost flinched at the sudden ringing, seeing as a few moment before the kitchen was mostly silent save for the sizzle of food he'd been cooking on the stove. He regained composure and stared curiously as Auto stepped into the kitchen. He frowned a bit as he caught the other rolling his eyes. All well. He was doing this mostly to give Kyle a break, so he didn't think much of the usual slight immaturity and resistance from the younger boy. Soon he saw Kyle shuffle in with Katz in hand and Red toted along behind. They all seemed very interested in the phone. He arched a brow before turning back to cooking but still lending an ear to the crowd. There was a bit of stern sounding French babble from the phone before a pause followed by a feminine sounding voice. Red blinked a bit seeing Auto stand up straighter all of a sudden at the voice, head tilting in confusion as this just made everyone else that much more interested. The babbling went on for awhile, semi-inaudible to mostly everyone but Auto. " -- And so I got framed and they don't believe me, and arguing with them is like arguing with a fucking brick wall and you need to get me out of here because if I get one more person screaming at me in french I am going to have a fIT I SWEAR TO GOD"
  264.
  265. "Dave. Dave."
  266.
  267. Auto was almost in tears. He was trying to hold back as much laughter as he could before he lost it completely.
  268.
  269. "Get the phone. Talk to your mother."
  270.
  271. Dave blinked, walking up to the phone and getting it from Auto, wondering what the hell was going on. He paused for a bit, watching Auto walk into the living room, where he faceplanted on the couch, stuffing a pillow to his face as his loud laugh slipped out.
  272.
  273. "Uh.. Hey mom. What's.. going... on???"
  274.
  275. Kyle backed up a little more, pressing into Red. Oh good. Another Napalm story. He liked hearing those. He wondered what happened this time.
  276.
  277. Blood slowed his cooking to listen, blinking and almost dropping the spatula for a moment hearing the word "mother". He felt his chest drop before he even had much time to collect it and for a moment it almost seemed like he'd forgotten how to work his arms as his hands jittered, making a quiet clatter noise against the spatula. He grit his teeth, tightening his grip to stop the noise. Not that it could be heard over the sudden laughter anyway, which for once bit into him like a saw rather than make him happy. Napalm grunted "Old man no you get back here right no- Oh hey pumpkin." She went on to explain a brief version of what she'd told auto, about her vacation getting framed for theft she clearly didn't commit, and being stuck in a foreign jail. Budo was close enough to hear it and started giggling quietly. Red managed to hear the whole conversation, his ears flicking forward and attuning to it. His eyes narrowed at the word 'mom', quickly shifting his gaze. He could feel the wave of negativity, still being easily attuned to Blood's emotions in certain situations, and that bothered him highly. It wasn't that hard to tell the sudden dramatic change in body language when paying attention but mostly everybody had glued their eyes on the phone and Bloo was a bit grateful for that. Red, however, was ever so slightly ticked, but leaned back against the wall rather than start something. He wanted to give it a chance and let it play out before making any decisions. There was a chance it could be just something misunderstood rather than the filth it looked like at the moment. Red's eyes narrowed. Better hope it be a mistake anyway or there would probably be a few chunks of the metal man strewn about. Red huffed at the thought and crossed his arms, ears flicking around to listen. People still giggling, auto still oblivious with laughter, Bloo improving and working on his 'im okay everything is okay' act in the meantime. Budo seemed happy to hear napalms voice, rocking back and forth a bit on his heels as he listened. Blood had finished the food and turned off the stove with a silent sigh, walking over and setting the food up on the table whilst keeping a bit of a neutral look about him.
  278.
  279. "Mom that is the dumbest. You're dumb. How did you manage???"
  280.
  281. Kyle could feel the sudden shift of moods and he decided to nope out of that one. He gently tugs at Red's arm, wanting him to follow.
  282.
  283. Auto lays on the couch still kind of giggling. He seems to stay like that for a bit, trying to calm down.
  284.
  285. Whoops.
  286.
  287. ` "How do I manage any of the situations I get into? The world may never know" She sighed dramatically " Hopefully I'll get out of here soon darling." She hummed trying to calm herself down despite the harsh noises in the background. Red paused, peering down at Kyle. His expression was still stern as he looked down and he sighed heavily, peering up a few times before allowing himself to be tugged away. He paused a few steps down the hallway, glancing over his shoulder and furrowing his brows at Bloo "Where are you going?" "Why?" "Aren't you eating?" "I'm not hungry." "But-" "Im. Not hungry." He didn't quite have the time to say much more before Blood had sidled into his room and shut the door. He didn't stay there long though, only a few minutes before sliding out his window and scaling up the the balcony. Rather than lounge in one of the seats He found himself simply balancing on the balcony railing, propping one foot against the railing with his knee to his chest and allowing the other foot to dangle over the edge. His back leaned on the side of the house as he rested his chin on his knee and stared off past their yard towards the mountain he'd become so fond of. The colors had started to change already, delicately showing off color amongst the dark green pine. Red sighed heavily and rubbed his temples before turning back to Kyle and letting him lead him wherever he wanted. His tail seemed a bit restless, seeming hazy and thin rather than thick and bubbly.
  288.
  289. Kyle paused to grab a few pieces of paper, a book to write on, his coat, and a pen. He leads Red outside to his porch spot, pulling the other to sit next to him.
  290.
  291. And then he started writing.
  292.
  293. 'So I noticed that you and Blood got kind of upset when Auto mentioned mom? But she isn't anyone's actual mother like most of us call her mom since Auto is kind of dad. Like. Most of us don't have parents or we don't talk to them so we just. Have fillers. Napalm is mom because she helped raise Dave and then she helped the rest of us. To Dave they actually are kind of mom and dad? But adoptive parents. If that makes sense.'
  294.
  295. Red furrowed his brow, taking the paper firmly and yet gently, not snatching it quite but definitely trying to control himself. His eyes raked over the page a couple times, reading it thoroughly before his cyan eyes flicked up to the others face, pupils almost slit like as they scanned him over a couple times as well. Analyzing and processing. A moment later he picked his head up and handed the paper back "Alright... Though I wish your friend Auto in there had maybe taken time to explain this before hand. Or does he not know how traditional families work?? Didn't he think he wasn't going to give the poor boy a heart attack??" Red sighed heavily and brought his hands up, rubbing his face and temples. "I should probably go try to find him before he puts himself down too far.." He murmured, tail shifting colors a couple times as if he wasn't sure how to feel about this anymore.
  296.
  297. 'No. All things considered, Auto was built in a lab. So traditional anythings kind of elude him. In all honesty, Blood is Auto's first. Partner. Thing. He's never been that close with anyone is what I'm saying.'
  298.
  299. Kyle shifts a bit awkwardly, sighing softly.
  300.
  301. 'But yes, you should definitely tell Blood. Auto would but he has Napalm to take care of right now. Honestly he might be about to leave so... I would. Hurry along.'
  302.
  303. He sighed heavily and nodded " I'll be back in a few minutes probably. Thank you for explaining to me what's going on- wait..." Red stared off for a moment, eyes squinting. "......" his eye almost seemed to twitch before he took a deep breath. He held it for a moment and exhaled, eyebrows raising as he seemed to mentally reason with himself for a moment, clenching and unclenching his hands before sliding inside and exhaling a low grunt. He shot a glare towards the kitchen, muttering profanity under his breath that was anything but english as he knocked on Blood's door. No Answer. With a huff he knocked a bit harder. Still no answer. With a loud sigh he opened the door " Hon-...." His eyes shot to the open window ".. You've got to be shitting me where the fuck did you go." He jumped over to the window, sticking his head out and blinking around. "..... fu-" He peered up out of chance and blinked seeing the silhouette. "... Blood?" He chimed and frowned. Bloo flinched hearing his name, instinctively peering towards the door to the balcony before who the voice belonged to settled in. He blinked and peered down over the edge of the balcony " Oh... Hey Red." " Please don't leave anywhere.. Come here?" "I... wasn't going anywhere... but alright.." He cleared his throat quietly and descended a bit sheepishly. "what?" "Get in here" Red murmured and almost pulled him through the window. Blood yelped quietly, climbing through before attempting to shake Red off. "What is it?" Red sighed and sat down, mentioning what he'd noticed earlier. The mention alone almost seemed to make him cry but Red quickly grabbed him up, demanding his attention and explaining what Kyle had told him. Blood shook a bit but listened, taking it in and thinking about it a bit "Are.. you sure?..." "I really don't think Kyle would lie about that honey... And if for some twisted reason he has, metal man's going to be losing a few limbs." He muttered. "Red please do-" "He will be scrap." "...." Blood sighed and rested his head against Red's chest with a grunt before looking back up to red as he talked again suddenly "But, now that I'm thinking about that" He held the other in front of him, staring at him for a moment. Blood blinked shifting uncomfortably under the gaze with a questionable expression. "..??" Red's eyes narrowed and his hand reached up a bit to quick for the other to calculate, a yelp sounding at the backhanding "what the fUCK RED?!" "That's for sneaking you little shit" "uGHH"
  304.
  305. Auto quietly remains on the phone, helping translate for Napalm. Eventually he talks her way out of there, but can't exactly figure out how to get home. He tells her to call another friend for that part and hangs up, glancing at the empty table.
  306.
  307. No one seems to be eating, but all of the food was there?
  308.
  309. Weird.
  310.
  311. He shrugs and heads to his own room, being confused when he doesn't see Bloo. Standing in his door, he shifts uncomfortably, wondering what was wrong. It wasn't often that he was alone anymore.
  312.
  313. Sitting at his desk, he tries to pick up what he was working on, but his focus is null and void. He sets the parts down, then picks them up again, just to set them down. And it keeps up like that 60 times exactly.
  314.
  315. Then he stands, heading out of his room again to finally start working on fixing the water issue. And the draft issue. Hell he's about to start working on that tree issue Kyle saw earlier before he realizes what time it is.
  316.
  317. Blood spent a good portion of the day with Red for once, after being demanded explanations of what the fuck he was thinking and what was going on. He suspected Red might kill one of them several times during the explanation. Red eventually calmed down and struggled to persuade the other into eating, failing miserably but managing to drag him to the kitchen to at least get him to have something to drink. Blood blinked seeing the food still on the table, mostly untouched as if no one had bothered. Rude. He rolled his eyes a bit irritably, tossing most of the food but saving what he thought would still taste good another time and storing it in the fridge. He almost walked back without getting the drink if he didn't turn and almost smash his face against Reds chest again, who was peering down at him with a huff. He sighed heavily, before getting a bottle of water, sitting and drinking it as Red supervised him to make sure he actually finished it. Finally the other retreated back to Kyle's room. Which Blood did find a bit odd. He squinted a short while before shifting and setting the empty water bottle in the recycle bin. He stood there for a moment, rubbing his shoulders and sighing softly before deciding to go find Auto. He frowned not seeing him in his room and tilted his head, turning and checking the living room. He arched a brow, finding him cleaning up the last bits of material left over from fixing the draft issue. He observed him quietly for a moment. Analyzing and yet still somewhat admiring. His head tilted a bit, scanning the others rather bothered and sort of lost expression with curiosity. He bit his lip and shifted a bit, feeling a little guilty that he sort of disappeared all of a sudden. He cleared his throat softly so as to announce his presence without alarming the other. His smile was soft and a little sheepish as he stepped over to join him, gently putting a hand on his shoulder in hopes the contact would comfort the other at least a little bit "I see you've been pretty busy."
  318.
  319. While muttering to himself, Auto didn't exactly hear Bloo clear his throat. When the hand is placed on his shoulder, the poor man jumped at least a foot into the air, dropping the materials in his hands.
  320.
  321. They clattered to the floor and Auto is immediately about to start swearing and screaming in french until he pauses, recognizing who was touching him. He sighs and bends down, picking everything back up.
  322.
  323. "Yes. Very busy. The water is fixed, and the draft is no longer there. And I was about t-.... Who hit you."
  324.
  325. Sudden defense mode? Sudden defense mode. Auto's shoulders tense up a bit and he moves to scrap the material (by scrap I mean throws dishearteningly down the basement stairs before shutting and locking the door again), before coming to examine Blood's cheek. Then he drags the other back to the kitchen, making him ice it some.
  326.
  327. Blood flinched a little as the other jumped, frowning and apologizing at least 100 times as the other picked the materials back up "I'm sorry love.. I didn't mean to startle you like that.. Oh. Well that's good then." He blinked and squeaked a little as the others sentence cut off. "I.. Uhh... I kind of deserved i-" he was cut off by the other snatching him and tugging him towards the kitchen. To be honest he didn't even think it was that bad but it must have looked a bit bad for Auto to have reacted that way. He sighed softly as the other fussed over him, quietly taking the ice from him and leaning up for a few kisses in attempts to calm him down before obeying and gently placing the ice rag against his cheek.
  328.
  329. Auto buzzes about, seeming almost restless. His hand tapped on the table some, with him muttering numbers quietly under his breath. He sighed softly stopped at 60, starting over again.
  330.
  331. It went on until Arwin popped in.
  332.
  333. His brow furrowed as he moved to pull out Blood's leftovers, quietly heating them up. Then he makes his plate, sighing a bit as he hears the numbers start over again.
  334.
  335. "Auto, dude, you're doin the thing again. Take a breather."
  336.
  337. "Thing?! What thing. I'm not doing anything."
  338.
  339. "...Auto."
  340.
  341. Auto sighs and pushes himself from the table.
  342.
  343. "Okay. Okay you're right. I'm sorry. I'll be in my office."
  344.
  345. Looking at Blood, he shifts again, muttering that he needed to keep the ice on his face. With that said, he disappears into his office, going to piddle with something until he calmed down.
  346.
  347. Meanwhile, Kyle makes it back to his room, plopping down on the bed next to Red before looking at him. He gets his notebook off his nightstand so they could talk.
  348.
  349. 'Fixed?'
  350.
  351. Blood sighed, holding the ice to his face before peering over to Arwin "... I feel like I should leave him alone for awhile... but I kind of left him alone for most of the day and I feel bad...." He sighed softly and leaned against the counter, peering into the kitchen window. It was dark enough to show his reflected as the light hit it and he blinked seeing the big black and blue. "Jesus christ.... " He muttered and rubbed it gingerly before putting the ice back on. Thankfully it didn't hurt as bad as it looked. still. His face was a bit of a wreck. Again. Which he should have been used to anyway. He'd always been littered with scars and bruises and otherwise imperfections. He wasn't sure why it even bothered him anymore. All well, he'd leave any vanity to the pretty people. With a huff he cracked his back, sitting next to the other while he ate. Red's ears perked as the other entered the room, tail wiggling involuntarily almost as if it was wagging. He squinted at it for a moment till it stopped before peering back over to the notebook. "Yeah.. I think he'll be alright."
  352.
  353. 'Promise?'
  354.
  355. Kyle reaches up to stroke the hair behind Red's ear, not wanting him to have to keep blowing it out of his face. It ends up staying and Kyle smiles some, noting how goofy it kind of looked. He wouldn't mention anything though.
  356.
  357. Meanwhile, Arwin is chattering on and on about this thing he found, but lost again, and needed to find so he can show it to everyone because he found out that it can do something really really cool and he really really wants to show it off.
  358.
  359. Oh well.
  360.
  361. Dave is leaning against Budo tiredly, rubbing his face some. There was a headache coming on, and Dave was instantly worried. It'd been so long since his last headache, he was afraid it was going to be horrible this time. He makes a mental note to keep Budo or Auto posted, just in case it turned horrible.
  362.
  363. Red nodded a couple times before grinning to himself and curling back up a bit, not really mentioning the backhanding but chuckling inaudibly about it. He paused as Kyle's hand neared him, for once not tensing up or flinching, but still watching his hand a bit warily as his fingers brushed through Red's cerise hair. they stayed for awhile, remaining tucked gingerly behind his fluffy pink ear as it twitched softly. It didn't last for long though, seeing as his ears were almost constantly changing directions. Not that he could help it. It was natural really. With a bit of hesitance he shifted himself, cheek resting against Kyles leg almost drowsily. Blood listed respectively, nodding when he was expected to and paying attention.. Well.. most of the time anyway. He let him babble on for almost a full 10 minutes before he finally attempted to weasel his way out of what could end up being an multi-hour long conversation about said 'thing'. It took him another few minutes but he finally managed to bring thr conversation to a closing, sighing heavily and slinking down the hallway. A shroud of guilt still followed him for leaving the poor man to himself for almost a full day. Time spent with Red was still nice but the execution of it wasn't quite the best planned. He lifted his hand to knock, a bit surprised when he found the door was left ajar. "..." Still, he gave a quiet knock to alert the other of his presence as he entered, quietly sidling in and shutting the door behind him. "Darling...I'm sorry... are you alright?.." A delicate frown slid over his face for a moment as he stepped over to the other who was at his desk, still looking a bit lost. With a soft breath he leaned down, looping under the others arms to hug at his chest. He rested his head on Auto's shoulder, cheek nestled against his neck. Budo was a bit lost in thought, the usual sorrowful look taking his face. Ironically, his expressions were usually rather soft and graceful, unlike the rest of him. It tended to make one ponder what he would have been like had he not been paralyzed and rebuilt into movement. But he was snapped out of his thought process as he felt the air change. Another sense no one really gave him much credit for. Mostly because he was still very passive, and didn't like acting upon it. But it was easy for him to sense changes in emotion and aura. Though, usually, he could only ever process the negative ones. Happiness wasn't exactly his thing. He blinked and peered down to Dave, one hand sliding softly through the others hair as he gave a worried look. "Everything okay?"
  364.
  365. Kyle keeps petting him, wanting desperately to hum quietly. But oh well. Katz has curled up on the extra pillow, purring softly. Everything in this room seems pretty mellow.
  366.
  367. Auto is tapping mindlessly at his desk, eyes roaming around almost tiredly.
  368.
  369. "Sorry??? What for? I'm fine. Maybe. Uh."
  370.
  371. Dave sighed. God his head hurt.
  372.
  373. "Nothing... Just a headache. Kind of."
  374.
  375. It was always more than a headache. His skull felt like it was splitting. Even his eyesight was getting blurry.
  376.
  377. Red was generally quite thankful that his presence was finally accepted without any hesitant attitude at least somewhere. Even the cat which was usually very moody seemed to have accepted him at least for now. The rain was so sudden it almost seemed to startle him, a sudden downpour taking over and pelting the roof with a steady thrum. He blinked at the dark window with a huff. It seemed to be getting darker earlier and earlier already. Blood frowned at the behavior, watching his weary eyes and noting the almost shaky voice " Fine huh?..." He sighed softly, " You don't seem fine.. Tell me what's on your mind... please??" For once the sudden storm didn't seem to phase him. He was too busy focusing on Auto for the moment. Budos' frown grew "A headache?.. Are you sure it's nothing?... Don't lie to me please." Budo leaned down to kiss at his forehead "If you need I can go ask your father for your medication.. I know it's been awhile since you've had to take it but..."
  378.
  379. Auto blinked. He looked kind of confused again.
  380.
  381. "Uh. Uh. Oh. Move."
  382.
  383. Getting up, he moved to dig through a box, getting out a small chip. Walking back Auto hands it to Blood.
  384.
  385. "Help me for a second. My memory chip is full again. I need you to replace it for me. Okay?"
  386.
  387. Dave shifts a bit, sighing softly as the room spun. Maybe he did need his medicine. Maybe he needed a nap. Maybe both.
  388.
  389. "Dad has to. Uh. Work on something. Can you... No wait. Hhhhh. Yeah. Wait about thirty seconds and uhm. Get Dad."
  390.
  391. Blood blinked and moved back as the other stood up, eyes following him over to the box sitting on the end of a shelf covered in glass vases, colorful origami, and.. his art? He arched a brow, wondering why He hadn't noticed they'd been framed and set there to view. Either way it made him smile for a moment before a rather curious look took over his face, eyes focusing back onto Auto and what he'd held in his hand as he walked back over. " O-oh.." He studied the object rigorously for a moment before nodding "alright darling." Budo nodded quietly, letting Dave lean on him for support as he sat up "Okay..." He gave a worried sigh, one hand still running through the others fair colored hair
  392.
  393. Auto gives him a briefing on how to change it before opening his neck so he could. It's a very quick process. Out. In. Done.
  394.
  395. Dave starts to somewhat fall asleep against Budo. That is until a sharp pain in his blind eye makes him whine softly, waking him up again.
  396.
  397. Kyle sighs and listens to the rain. It's not long before he's dozing quietly.
  398.
  399. Blood listened to him attentively, watching his every move and gesture, and logging every word. Artistic even without a sketchpad or pencil. It was his nature. His hands were gentle as he did as he was told, removing the old chip and setting it on the desk in front of him and sliding the new one in, locking it into place and blinking at the noise it made as it turned itself on. Budo frowns as he rouses, instinctively turning to hold him close. He'd go grab Auto in a moment but he wanted to make sure Dave would be okay in his absence. He held him close, singing almost inaudibly for anyone to hear who wasn't pressed up against him. Even from the other side of the room it seemed like nothing but a hum. Dave was the only one who had really ever heard Budo sing. And he didn't really plan on letting anyone else hear anytime soon. He didn't want to embarrass himself, seeing as he could hardly speak to others without stuttering, let alone sing for them. He waited for Dave to doze off again before he settled him against of nest of pillows and stood up, quietly exiting and walking downstairs
  400.
  401. Ah yes. Much better. Auto hums softly, letting everything calibrate. Then he stands, taking the chip to put in his desk with a date written on it just in case he needed it.
  402. "Now. What were we talking about?"
  403.
  404. Dave lays in the bed, dozing carefully. He tries not to let his head bother him too much, but god it hurt him so much…
  405.
  406.
  407. Blood watched him curiously, smiling a bit. "Ah... You just seemed really off is all.. I'm hoping you're feeling better now?" He asked quietly, peering up at him. He flinched ever so slightly as the thunder started, fidgeting with the almost cat like 'totally meant to do that' attitude. His attention was grabbed though as there was a shaky knock "A....A-auto?.." Budo murmured a bit nervously as he knocked at the office door.
  408.
  409. "Hmmmm? Yes, Budo? ...You may come in."
  410.
  411. Auto sighs a bit. His brow furrows as he notices that Dave isn't with the other, and then his anxiety spiked some. Whoops.
  412.
  413. Budo opens the door but doesn't take more than one step in, peering between Blood and Auto. He hesitates a little, almost visibly shaking as he keeps one hand on the doorknob. Its quite obvious he's nervous being in this particular room. "A-ah.... Daves got another one of his h-headaches again.. He's in a l-lot of pain I think..." Blood frowned, stepping out of the way and to the side. Budo stepped back out into the hall a bit "He n-needs his medication again...."
  414.
  415. "A headache. Alright. Come sit on the couch while I go take care of him."
  416.
  417. Auto glances up at Bloo, hoping he'd get the signal. He wanted Bloo to stay with Budo. Keep him company. Maybe help lower the poor thing's anxiety some.
  418.
  419. Then he stands from his desk, going upstairs with pills and syringe in hand. Dave is in full on tears at this point and Auto calms him down before giving him his medication and gently rocking him to sleep. Poor baby.
  420.
  421. Budo blinks a bit in surprise, slinking in almost and nervously watching Auto as he watches him leave the room. "H-hello" He squeaked, arms wrapping around himself as he stepped over. Blood scanned him for a second taking in his behavior before smiling softly. "Hello. Come sit down?" He motioned towards the couch, keeping an eye on the other as he followed and gingerly sat down. Bloo Perched on the other side of the couch, leaning back and exhaling a soft sigh. Budo wrong his hands around his wrists for a moment before attempting to calm himself down. "U-uh... I just wanted to uhm... Apologize... for n-not really taking the time to talk to you or anything.." He frowned. Blood blinked with a bit of surprise. Budo hadn't really done much really. Though he could imagine he'd be on Daves side of it for the most part. "Aha... I don't blame you guys for disliking me or not wanting me around I guess.." "N-no I'm completely fine with you around.. I just... I feel bad that I've just s-sort of stayed quiet and not done much to help... I might have been able to s-stop Dave back before you guys got into that spat.. B-but I chickened out.. I'm sorry.." "...Budo, you don't have to apologize.. The past is the past alright?. I'm not gunna be mad at you.. or Dave, honestly." Bloo leaned his head back, staring at the ceiling for a moment "But that's where I'm stuck.. what can I even do to make him content with me other than fall of the face of the fucking earth?..." Budo sighed, resting his hands onto his lap. He finally managed to stop shaking "I w-wish I knew what to tell you... But I don't.."
  422.
  423. He makes sure Dave is good and asleep before heading back to the office. God his anxiety was horrible. However when he walks back, he gently shuts the door behind him. Let Budo hang with them for a bit.
  424.
  425. Plopping down on the chair across from the two, Auto balances his ankle on his knee, leaning back comfortably. He just listens for the most part.
  426.
  427. Thunder cracks loudly through the sky, and Kyle gets startled awake from his small nap. He sighs softly, listening to the quiet house, wondering what was up.
  428.
  429. Oh. It seems Arwin found his thing. He's excitedly playing with it now.
  430.
  431. The two talk for awhile, Blood getting cut off by the loud crack of thunder. He jumped slightly, staring at the window "Lordy...." Surprisingly Budo seems unphased by the storm, as loud as it gets. In fact it's almost as if he's comforted by it. He's stop shaking completely now, and his voice has evened out quite a bit, with only a few minor stutters here and there. Its then that Bloods stomach decides to start making noises. He blinked with an almost embarrassed look, glaring down at his abdomen with a huff. He waited for it to stop before ignoring it, leaning back and continuing his talk. Reds ears perk with the thunder, his eyes opening still quite sleepy looking as he feels the other shift suddenly. His gaze slides over, cheek still propped against his thigh. He lifts his head a bit, eyes and tail glowing through the dark.
  432.
  433. Auto glances at the sky. They were due for a power outage right... about... Now. He sighs quietly, waiting for the generator to kick on. It does and everything's dandy.
  434.
  435. Kyle blinks back, smiling softly to show that he was fine. And sorry for waking the other.
  436.
  437. Blood blinked in confusion for a moment, his left eye glowing eerily in the periodic darkness before the lights kicked back on and he winced, blinking in gingerly. It'd been awhile since he'd gone from bright to complete darkness to bright again so quickly- and Auto still hadn't fixed that eye of his. He sighed, blinking it a few times as it adjusted with a few struggles. Budo watched him with a frown "Are you alright?" His brow furrowed slightly. "Ahaaa yeah it doesn't hurt too bad.." he groaned as it seemed to take forever before finally properly settling into place. "Phew.." he sighed and rolled his shoulders. Red still examined him, eyes still glowing a bit even after the star shaped night-light popped back on. His head tilted a bit, as if noticing things he hadn't quite gotten a chance to focus on or notice before.
  438.
  439. Looking over, Auto blinks a bit.
  440.
  441. "Oh. Oh! I forgot to fix that. Uh. I need. Your eye?"
  442.
  443. Probably the weirdest sentence he's ever said. Walking over, he gently touches Bloo's temple with his fingers, pushing a little bit. And op. Out pops Bloo's eye.
  444.
  445. It's an honest easy fix Auto has it done in no time before he's putting it back gently.
  446.
  447. "There you go. That should fix it."
  448.
  449. Meanwhile.
  450.
  451. He glances down at what Red is staring at, blushing slightly once he realized that his sleeves had ridden up. No use in pushing them down now.
  452.
  453. The scars were all very neatly done. Each the exact same space away from the other, making almost like a ladder up Kyle's arm.
  454.
  455. There were a few that went down his arm as well, but they were paler, much longer ago had they been done. He couldn't exactly blame himself for those, but he did anyway.
  456.
  457. If Red were to push up his sleeve more, he'd realize that they'd go all the way up to his shoulder. If he were to take off his clothing, there'd be identical ones on his legs. A few on his sides. Even some on his chest.
  458.
  459. Blood blinked at him as he walked over, warily watching him almost confused as he said it. Last time he mentioned he'd want to be asleep during it so needless to say he fidgeted a little. Though it was if he was almost surprised the incoming touch was as gentle as it was, hardly moving as his eye was removed "whoah there" he shuddered at the odd feeling that shot through half his head, a small energized buzz that shot through as the eyes circuits were detached that dulled after a moment. "Well... that was a weird sensation" He blinked a couple times, frowning at Budos rather startled look "...erk sorry" Blood kept his left eye closed, leaving his one real eye to do the work. He opened it again to let Auto put his eye back into place, inhaling at the slight buzz again and blinking a few times as his eye adjusted itself. "... Much better, thank you darling." He shifted a bit before pausing, realizing he'd chimed the pet name without a thought of the other person in the room and coughed almost shyly curling up a bit. But thankfully Budo seemed unphased if anything almost content about the confirmation as he leaned back a bit.
  460. Red frowned at the scars, shifting and inching up a bit so that his head was around level with Kyle's chest. His grip was gentle as he quietly held the others arm, allowing him to still pull away if he wished to. His frown grew, eyes a little sad and also quite confused as he looked them over. thumb tracing the almost perfectly parallel marks that ran up his pale skin. ".... I've.. really never seen wounds this symmetrical before..." he tilted his head "what kind of fight did you get these from?... er.. and those... up further..." He quietly glanced at his neck, something he'd noticed but really never been close enough to ask about. "Must have been rough..." His face held an innocent curiosity and general concern, completely ignorant and almost frustratingly so.
  461.
  462.
  463. Kyle wasn't sure if he wanted to laugh, or sob. He kind of ends up doing both. His eyes overflow with tears, but he's still kind of smiling and his chest shakes with little sobs, but there's also an air of laughing around him.
  464.
  465. Gently taking his wrist back, he moves to get his notebook to answer Red. Tears carefully soaked the page, and Kyle's hand shook, making his handwriting very messy.
  466.
  467. A few times he had to put down the pen.
  468.
  469. But eventually, he got his message out, with a lot of crossing out, and pausing, and wiping his eyes. It got out alright.
  470.
  471. 'Y'know. Life is just one. Huge. Battle.'
  472.
  473. Also Noah is going to suddenly cut scene to Minze picking up Napalm because he needs something happy in his life.
  474.
  475. Minze leaned against the counter of the police department, gently tapping her fingers while she waits for Napalm. Once the two are together again, Minze gently drags her out and to the awaiting taxi.
  476.
  477. "I'm getting tired of pulling you out of these messes, Napalm."
  478.
  479. Her voice held an accent not much unlike Auto's. However, it was obviously from a different area.
  480.
  481. Flicking her hair behind her shoulder, Minze smiles at the other, freckled cheeks dipping into small dimples on either side.
  482.
  483. "But I'll continue pulling you out of them. I'd hate to see you locked up for so long."
  484.
  485. Red frowned, a low whimper escaping him at the others sudden distress, reading the note with a frown. He was never really good with people crying or in distress. He inched his way up further instincts kicking in as he reacted not quite differently than he would have when Bloo was younger. Scooping the other up quickly but gently as his tail spread and draped over the both of them creating a tent of cloudy stars. He held him there, letting him cry against his shirt and contemplating what else he could possibly do. Napalm sighed heavily, leaning back against the dark taxi seat "sorry m’dearest you know I have the worst of luck" napalm groaned "ecstatic to see you though really" she grinned and chimed.
  486.
  487. "Worst of luck? More like the worst timing. Or morals. Maybe all of the above."
  488.
  489. She smiles again, sighing softly as she leaned against the seat a bit more, smoothing her dress out over her legs.
  490.
  491. "Well. While we're out. Are you hungry? Did they feed you? Also: you really need to bathe. We'll go back to the hotel and let you get that taken care of."
  492.
  493. Kyle leans into Red some, still shaking a bit as his tears slowly became no more. Then he took Red's hand, gently tracing letters on it, making sure to be slow enough for the other to keep up.
  494.
  495. 'I'm really sorry.'
  496.
  497. Napalm blinked a bit, smile falling flat from her face "Sure... Well I didn't do it for once." She leaned her head back against the seat, squinting at the taxi ceiling "Eh they gave me some bread and cheese but the bread was hard enough that I probably could have chiseled through the bars with it." she smirked for a split second before regaining her composure. "Though, I do need a long shower and to be honest I dont even think these are my clothes but they wouldn't give me a choice." She scrunched her nose, arms crossing over her chest loosely. What a grump. Red sighed softly, Kyle's head still tucked under his chin "... You don't have to apologize over my ignorance... there's still a lot about you people that I don't know about.... so I should be the one apologizing.. And I am sorry I made you cry..." He murmured, one hand still running through Kyles hair as he pondered. He paused a bit, his motions slowing as he thought and bit his lip. "Can..... can I uh... try something?.... " He asked quietly, fidgeting a little though still holding Kyle quite close.
  498.
  499. "We'll get you taken care of, darling."
  500.
  501. And Napalm is definitely taken care of. She gets a long shower and a nice meal and oh god bless a warm bed.
  502.
  503. Hella yeah.
  504.
  505. Kyle sniffles and leans back some, brow scrunching up at the other. He didn't want to get his notebook, but he wanted the other to know that he acknowledged what he was saying, wondering what he wanted to try.
  506.
  507. Napalm flopped onto the bed almost comically, face planting into the pillow with her knees bent, feet suspended in the air a bit as she heaved a very content sigh. Normally she would have been stubborn about letting Minze spoil her but after being stuck in that place for so long she knew better. She let herself stay there for a moment before rolling onto her side with a grin "ahhh thank you very very much darlin' " She brushed a few faded blue strands of hair from her face. Red exhaled a soft breath, bright cyan eyes scanning him for a moment before he felt it okay to continue " I haven't ever done this before.. So you'll have to bear with me. But I know if anyone would be able to it'd be you. It probably won't be much anything like what you experience with Katz, but there's things I'd like to show you.. So it's worth a try... You'd have to really trust me though.." His face was nervous but honestly, tail bubbling up almost shyly above them.
  508.
  509. Minze moves to sit with Napalm, wrapping her robe around her a bit more. She smiles in response, beginning to brush her hair. There was something she wanted to talk about something, but she couldn't piece together quite well.
  510.
  511. Kyle listens to him carefully, looking up at him. He sniffles a bit before reaching up, fingers brushing against his cheek gently. This was kind of odd, but he didn't want to say anything.
  512.
  513. Oh wait.
  514.
  515. Once the other is finished, he nodded gently. It was pretty obvious he trusted Red. Besides Katz, who else did he spend this much time with?
