<KusaGM> Hell & Highwater, session 3: This Time Its Personal

<KusaGM> The three of you, plus kid and large riding birds, are standing before a smouldering patch of what was once thick trees and shrubbery. Beyond the smoking zone is a looming cave entrance, the inside shrouded in darkness.

* Ivy_Tigereye nudges Barrett. "Wish to go first?"

* Barrett smirked.  "Only if Sparkles keeps close.  Dun want him missing out of the fun..."

* Arastaen snorts in disdain. "thats Arastaen Moonglow; sage extrodanire the Koboldbane, to you... and I shall follow at a safe distance"

<Barrett> "Get over here Twinkles."

* Arastaen glares. "No... How about you get moving before I use my staff as a cattle prod"

<Ivy_Tigereye> "It would probably be best to keep the mage at the back, in case of an assault on the front," Ivy interrupts. "I mean, just saying."

<Barrett> "That's the idea.  And I'd advise you to not even try it sparkles, unless you want that stick in a million pieces and rammed in your eyes."  *He smirked and pulled out his greataxe, heading forwards.*

<KusaPlaytest> The entrance looms, like a great wurm's maw. Like a gate into the deepest Abyss.

* Ivy_Tigereye follows. "By the way, I'm not a mind reader. So if any of you get hurt, you'll need to let me know so I can heal you."

* Arastaen nods curtly at Ivy. "will do... now lets go save those lovely ruins before they fall to more banditry and monsters" He follows the overs cautiously

* Barrett heads on in, looking around in the dark.

* Arastaen peers about in the gloom, that is not so much gloomy to him.

<Ivy_Tigereye> "Anyone here able to get a light?" Ivy asks, staring at Arastaen as best he can in the dark, with the helmet on, while following Barrett.

<KusaPlaytest> As your eyes adjust to the gloom you enter a roughly cut tunnel that diverges ahead, offering two different paths. Several planks poke out of a pocket chamber to the northeast.

* Arastaen taps his staff lightly to the ground and a glowly lightly starts shining from the gem on his staff. "is that better?" (using light)

<Arastaen> He looks over at something he notices. "I also see a poorly made pit trap and some conjoined houses"

<KusaPlaytest> Indeed there is, in the light of your light.

* Barrett heads on through the cave, not needing the light.

* Ivy_Tigereye stays back. "A pit trap, you say?"

* Arastaen nods sagely. "only and idiot would fall in it"

* Ivy_Tigereye speaks a bit louder. "The pit trap that the dwarf taking point is heading towards?"

* Barrett walks calmly up to the edge of the pit trap, hurling his axe into the ground on the other side and vaulting over, landing neatly on the handle, casually walking along it like a tight rope and ripping it out of the ground on the other side, not even disturbing a leaf or breaking his stride.

<KusaPlaytest> And that's the pount where two kobolds lean around the corner and try to stab you.

<KusaPlaytest> Two more join in with their crude knives, and four attacks are aimed right at the still-landing dwarf.

<KusaPlaytest> One knive skids off your heavy armour, while the other three find weak points and stick into your touch dwarven hide. They don't even bother pulling back, instead letting go of their weapons and reaching for their short spears with hisses and short snaps.

* Barrett looks at them and snerks, Swinging his axe at the one that missed.

* Barrett chuckles darkly as the axe sliced through the Kobold's neck, then in a cross through its torso.  Initially nothing happened until Barrett planted his boot in a powerful kick and sent its bisected torso pieces flying in a gory shower of blood and guts in all directions.

* Ivy_Tigereye , to contrast, left the other kobold charred and smoking with his radiant lance, letting it fall to the floor.

* Arastaen starts waving his staff around as he starts chanting, he soon grasps his staff and points it towards one of the remaining Kobolds. Soon enough a blue light beams forward towards the target and a blue dot appears on it head. "Locked and loaded" >:3 He soon soots a single bolt of magical energy that seeks out and blows off the poor Kobolds head.

<Arastaen> shoots*

<KusaPlaytest> Undeterred, the last kobold charges with its spear, attempting to violate the defiant dwarf.

<KusaPlaytest> The tip gets caught up in the links and chains of your chainmail, effectively disarming the little bugger. It curses at you in ways you can't even imagine.

* Barrett laughs and swings at it, chopping the little bastards legs off and catching it by the throat.  With a growl, he skullbashes the Kobold in the head so hard the result was not unlike hitting an Egg with a Cricket bat.

<KusaPlaytest> You implode it.
