- I. Introduction to GoDaddy and SOPA
- II. Dox of Bob Parsons, GoDaddy CEO
- III. #BoycottGoDaddy and How to Transfer Domains
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Earlier this year, GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons made news after taking a trip to Africa. Was he there working with impoverished African children or supporting an important charity? No. He was killing elephants and recording videos of it. [http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42356709/ns/business-us_business/t/godaddy-ceo-kills-elephant-videotapes-act/]
- Again, Bob Parsons and GoDaddy have made news, this time for announcing their support for the Internet Censorship bill SOPA, which experts have said would destroy the Internet as we know it, adopting a system of government censorship similar to that of Iran and China. GoDaddy had stated previously that it believed SOPA was "a welcome step in the right direction", and have since continued to voice support for the controversial bill. - Bob Parsons, you disgust us. From your documented cruelty to animals, to your outright support of the oppressive Internet censorship bill SOPA, you have attracted the attention of Anonymous.
- Not surprisingly, Bob Parsons has been doxed in the past by someone whose abhorrence with GoDaddy spread to numerous websites upon its posting. Using the handle "GoDaddySucks", they write, "Not only was I abused by GoDaddy, but these jerks actually are trying to charge me for their incompetence". We have long been aware of GoDaddy's terrible hosting, but we have greater cause for our detestation this time around.

- It's time to show these corporations the consequences of supporting bills like SOPA which are so greatly opposed by their customers (and soon-to-be FORMER customers). Let the boycott begin.
- #BoycottGoDaddy is a global movement designed to make GoDaddy pay for its support of SOPA. We urge everyone who uses a GoDaddy domain to transfer their websites to other domains. Thanks to massive opposition on Reddit, major Internet companies like Cheezburger have already denounced GoDaddy publicly and plan to transfer all of their domains elsewhere. Ben Huh, CEO of Cheezburger tweeted, "We will move all 1,000 of our domains off @godaddy unless you drop support of SOPA. We love you guys, but #SOPA-is-cancer to the Free Web." Let the movement continue.
- We have the power to cripple the likes of GoDaddy just as their support of SOPA will cripple our Internet and the freedom of information if this bill is passed. Here is what we all must do.
- Send this to everyone you know. Spread the word about SOPA and what it means to our Free Web. Let GoDaddy know that it has lost your trust and that you will be taking your business elsewhere.
