More popping, the sound of combustion man firing at me from the ground. An explosion appeared almost out of nowhere next to my left wing. I turned myself in the air, forcefully trying to dodge the blast. Instead of striking the sensitive, feathered thing, it hit my chest and abdomen. Something broke as I was battered backwards.
