- White nurses a bit of a crush on Teal, and hopes to sit next to them.
- Teal, meanwhile, refuses to sit across from a primary color.
- Orange is still mediating between Blue and White; not only should the two not face each other, but Orange insists on a seat in the shortest span between them.
- Blue has, meanwhile, gotten into another tiff - this time with Teal, and seating them next to each other will only cause trouble.
- Purple prefers the company of primary colors.
- Green loves sitting next to their primary colors, but they aren't greedy - they'll sit next to only one of the two.
- Yellow wants a good view of White, so if White isn't in the seat across from Yellow, at least they'd better be aside of it!
- Red wants to sit somewhere on Purple's left, but doesn't want to sit any more than two seats away from White.
- Intended:
- Purple
- Blue Yellow
- Orange Green
- White Red
- Teal

- Puzzle idea: combine liars with seating arrangement?
- One "base case" to test - person x makes a simple statement about placement, assume true and check their other statements for truth/falsehood
- x x x
- ^better than circular
- How few statements can a full setup be deduced from?
- (If it's one each, save the base case strategy mentioned above for another)
- (better - multiple liars? alt one could be thieving)

- 3 (CM). "Apparently, it wasn't dreadful enough to keep someone with a full view from thinking about napkins!" [1 was sitting closest to the body]
- 4 (MW). "Seeing him like that shocked us all! Let them deal with it in their own ways!" [LIE]
- 5 (MG). "Really, I appreciate the Prof saying what he did. I'm having surprisingly little trouble accepting it." [Someone who spoke previously is PP]
- 6 (MP). [Truth]
- 1. "I can't believe it. No one else thought the napkins were odd?" [Flavor]
- 2. "Well, now that you mention it, I did notice the person sitting across from me had my usual color." [2 is sitting across from someone etc...]
- 3. "I can't remember anything about napkin colors. Small details pass me by on an empty stomach!"
- 6. "Oh, you go on! I saw you sneaking bites of those Scallops while the rest of us waited." [3 had Scallops]
- 5. "Mmm, I can't blame him... those Scallops looked delicious. Would have gone perfectly with my [Drink]..." [3 is male, the drink of 5]
- 2. "I hate myself for saying it, but even with his body in the room I'm hungry enough to go back in there!"
- 6. "It's a crime scene! I'd kill for a bite of my [Meal], but we could ruin evidence!" [The meal of 6]
- 4. "Funny you should say that, you sitting so close to the kitchen. Kill for anything else recently?" [LIE - Not so close to the kitchen]
- 6. "It's a figure of speech! Even if it wasn't, this is a killing that's /keeping/ me from my food and [Drink]." [The drink of 6]
- 1. "Oh, yes. My [Meal] certainly looked divine."
- 4. "Truthfully, I was a bit jealous seeing your meal on the other side of the table. It looked better than my own!" [LIE - 4 sitting across from 1]
- 2. "Oh, Mrs. White, you truly outdid yourself with all of the dishes."
- 6. "Please! Mr. Boddy has been murdered, show him some respect."
- 5. "Coming from the woman who was just talking about killing for a bite!"
- 3. "She did say it was a figure of speech. And even just sitting next to it, her meal looked mouthwatering..."
- 2. "For heaven's sake, just say that you regret trying the Scallops!"
