[12:34] <Neph-GM> August 10th, 2020. Classes start today and it is a bright and beautiful morning as ever when the pilots leave their homes, the boys from the apartment and the girls from Reiko's house, eager to learn in the company of their fellows.
[12:35] * Abraham_Campbell is dressed in the uniform, sans jacket or coat or whatever, going with just the shirt and tie.
[12:36] * DJ_Hammond is in the full uniform. Took him a while to get the tie though
[12:38] * Miu_Setogiri is well groomed, hair hung back in a neat fashion, wearing the uniform with only a few additions of her own, small bracelets and the like.
[12:43] <Neph-GM> Abraham and DJ are just reaching the Evergreen Crossroad when they hear a pair of voices yell out.
[12:43] <Neph-GM> “Out of the way!”
[12:43] <Neph-GM> “Watch out!”
[12:43] <Neph-GM> Coming in fast down the hill to their right are a pair of girls on a bike, on a direct collision course.
[12:43] * Abraham_Campbell counts off his fingers, estimating the time of impact.
[12:54] <Neph-GM> DJ deftly steps aside to let them through,  but with Abe on the way the bike makes  a sharp turn right.
[12:54] <Neph-GM> “AAAAAAAHHH!”
[12:54] <Neph-GM> “VEEEEEEEEEE!”
[12:54] <Neph-GM> The bike crashes against a lamppost, and the occupants fly away, the first smashing against Abraham, throwing him to the ground before continuing through. The second lands on DJ, who now finds himself on his back, feeling a strange softness on his chest as the blonde girl moans and stirs.
[12:56] * Abraham_Campbell instantly grips the wound in his chest with his hands, worried it'll open up again.
[12:56] * DJ_Hammond looks up at the girl.
[12:56] <DJ_Hammond> "You okay?"
[12:59] <Neph-GM> The girl shakes her head  and opens her eyes.  Clear green with spots of brown near the iris, they widen as she as she looks upon the person she landed on.  Her lips part slightly. “Eh…”
[12:59] * Abraham_Campbell gingerly touches the wound with a tip of his finger, bringing it to his face to check for blood.
[13:01] * DJ_Hammond kinda blushes. This is the second time in a few days he's been in this position.
[13:01] <Abraham_Campbell> "i'l be fine...i'l be fine..."
[13:02] * Abraham_Campbell tries to get back up, dusting himself off and makes sure he hasnt dropped anything.
[13:03] <Neph-GM> "Ow, ow, ow..." you hear the other girl saying as she stands up, dusting off her legs. She brushes her copper-colred short hair back. "That was  bad idea," she sighs.
[13:04] <Neph-GM> The golden-haired girl cotninues staring at DJ.
[13:06] * DJ_Hammond tries getting up if she's gotten off him.
[13:07] <DJ_Hammond> "Eh, mind lettin me get up?"
[13:08] <Neph-GM> "...Eh? Ah!" The girl practically jumps to standing.
[13:08] <Neph-GM> “May, hey, Maaaay, are you okay?” The redhead asks , walking over to the blonde. “I tried to cushion your fall but he looks kind of bony on closer inspection.”
[13:09] * Abraham_Campbell is satisfied everything is where it should be, continues on towards school.
[13:09] <DJ_Hammond> "Are you sure you two are okay?"
[13:11] <Neph-GM> The redhead glances at him. "I'm fine, I'm fine..." And goes check on her bike. Meanwhile, the other girl starts turning bright red.
[13:11] <DJ_Hammond> "Alright," DJ says. He then follows Abe to the school
[13:13] * Lianna_Cien is dressed in her custom-dyed version of the uniform with her hair pulled back in the usual simple tail, looking...unusually happy this morning as she walks up to DJ. "Morning loverboy~ Having some trouble controlling yourself are you~?"
[13:14] <DJ_Hammond> "Wha?" DJ says, a bit shocked at Lianna's sudden appearance.
[13:14] * Miu_Setogiri comes up behind her, smiling and bows at the pair. "Good morning!"
[13:15] <DJ_Hammond> "Oh, hey Miu." DJ is now even redder from Lianna's comment.
[13:18] <Lianna_Cien> "So, what sort of crazy streak sprung up to make you think that was a good plan in public~?"
[13:20] <DJ_Hammond> "She crashed into me. I moved out of the way."
[13:21] <Miu_Setogiri> "It was nice that you caught her when she fell."
[13:21] * Miu_Setogiri smiles.
[13:25] <Lianna_Cien> "Now then, I think it's about time we see what this school is like. This is gonna be fun~"
[13:39] <Neph-GM> The trio continues their way up the hill alongside the dozens of students taking the same path. To their side they spot the previous pair of girls again on the bike, the redhead struggling against to carry them both up the hill while the blonde just grabs onto her seat and looks away with a pout.  Still, they manage to come go past the pilots’ calm walking.
[13:39] <Neph-GM> Soon after they reach Evergreen,  some quick checking revealing that their class, 9-A, lies on the third floor of one of the main buildings.  The hallways are wide and clean, the inside of the building mirroring the outside’s modern style.  Diffused panes form the walls between the hallway and the classrooms,  and they enter to find an array of 25 seats, some empty, most filled, with students both sitting and standing conversing with e
[13:39] <Neph-GM> ach other.
[13:39] <Neph-GM> Lianna’s seat lies at the far back corner, next to the windows leading to the field and running track.  To her right lies DJ’s assigned seat, and two seats in front of her lies Abe already on his.
[13:40] * Abraham_Campbell sits there bored already, mentally counting off the clock till the days done.
[13:43] <Neph-GM> The trio also notice the redhead right as they come in, sitting backwards to face the blonde on the second seat closest to the door. Miu's assigned seat, as it turns out.
[13:43] * Miu_Setogiri introduces herself to the other students before looking for her own seat.
[13:45] <DJ_Hammond> "So how was Reiko's?" DJ asks when he sits down next to lianna
[13:47] <Miu_Setogiri> "You are in my seat."
[13:47] * Miu_Setogiri smiles at the girl.
[13:48] <Neph-GM> The redhead turns around. "No way..." The blonde, who had previously just been staring off, turns to face Miu as well.
[13:48] <Lianna_Cien> "...Her fridge is stocked with beer...only beer."
[13:49] <DJ_Hammond> "Dear God..."
[13:50] <Lianna_Cien> "Also...I swear the woman must be loaded with cash, just to look at her house."
[13:51] <DJ_Hammond> "Maybe NERV pays really well."
[13:51] <Lianna_Cien> "Yeah...I don't think it pays that well."
[13:54] * Miu_Setogiri gives a small bow. "I'm Setogiri Miu."
[13:58] <Neph-GM> "Hmmm..." the redhead looks at Miu quizzically as the bell rings. She quickly stands up, sparing one more glance at the Japanese girl before making her way to her seat. Several other students do so as well.
[14:00] <Neph-GM> As fate would have it, her seat lies between Abe's and Lianna's. She glances at DJ in recognition but before anything can be said the homeroom teacher comes in, and everyone falls silent.
[14:02] <Neph-GM> "Good morning, everyone," the man in his mid-30s says as he walks in with a sheepish smile on his face. "Good morning," the bulk of the class responds.
[14:04] <Neph-GM> "Good morning, professor Steiner," the redhead says after everyone goes silent, waving at the man. He looks at her and the smile on his face disappears, and you swear you just saw him age 10 years as he begins to rub his forehead with his right hand. "Good morning... Miss Carsten."
[14:05] * Abraham_Campbell is openly ignoring the going ons, staring out the window in vain hope of an angel or a carrier plane or something interesting entering his field of vision.
[14:12] <Neph-GM> “Well, class, I’m Joseph Steiner and I’ll be your homeroom teacher from in on out to the end of the year, unless…” he sighs “I’ll also be your science teacher.  In any case, I see a few new faces, and I’m sure many of you are new to each other, so how about some introductions? You, Anderson, first. Then Brown behind him and off we go.”
[14:12] <Neph-GM> The first kid introduces himself, followed by the next and then it’s Abraham’s turn.
[14:12] * Abraham_Campbell gets up.
[14:13] <Abraham_Campbell> "My name is Abraham Campbell, I will try to avoid wasting your time, and I would appreciate it if you all tried the same."
[14:13] * Abraham_Campbell sits back down.
[14:13] <Neph-GM> "Hold on a minute," the teacher says, "stand back up."
[14:14] <Abraham_Campbell> "Goddamnit."
[14:14] * Abraham_Campbell gets back up.
[14:14] <Abraham_Campbell> "What did I just say?"
[14:14] <Neph-GM> "Is this your first year in Evergreen?"
[14:14] <Abraham_Campbell> "No."
[14:14] <Abraham_Campbell> "I have been living in Elysium for a few years."
[14:17] <Neph-GM> "Then why are you not wearing the vest? It's an essential part of the uniform."
[14:18] <Abraham_Campbell> "I was recently hospitalised, the vest was uncomfortable and an unneccasary layer if something happens and paramedics need to get to the wound, once I am feeling better I will make sure to adhere to the dresscode."
[14:21] <Neph-GM> "Hmhm. Bring me a signed paper from your doctor or the school nurse tomorrow and I'll let it slide. Else, bring the vest or not bother showing up."
[14:21] <Abraham_Campbell> "...Can I get that in writing, sir?"
[14:23] <Neph-GM> "If you can't there's the door."
[14:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "I
[14:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "I'l wait for the proper documents."
[14:23] * Abraham_Campbell sits back down, checks the clock on the wall to figure out how much of his time was just wasted.
[14:24] <Neph-GM> "Next... Miss Cartsen."
[14:27] <Neph-GM> The redhead stands up. "Hello everyone, I'm Victoria Carsten, I like reading, writing," she begins counting with her fingers, "baseball, sci-fi and romance, long walks, friends, dogs, most birds, all sorts of trees, and Baseball Club applications after school."
[14:27] <Neph-GM> She sits back down.
[14:27] * DJ_Hammond does a turn towards her.
[14:28] <DJ_Hammond> She just said the magic word.
[14:29] <Neph-GM> "Miss Carsten," Prof. Steiner begins, "If you have an announcement... nevermind, thanks for being brief this time. Next up... Miss Cien?"
[14:37] <Lianna_Cien> Lianna stands up with a slight whip of her ponytail and smirks. "Name's Cien, Lianna Cien, and I'm a girl with big plans for this school. I do hope I can count on some cooperation from the student body when it comes time to whip this place into shape and give ourselves and future students the best school experience they can possibly have." She ends with a friendly, yet tough grin before
[14:37] <Lianna_Cien> sitting back down.
[14:39] <Neph-GM> The students start murmuring and you hear words like "aspirations," "political," and "challenge," thrown around.
[14:40] <Neph-GM> "Do you want to enter the student council? Victoria turns around to ask."
[14:42] <Neph-GM> "Do you want to enter the student body?" Victoria turns around to ask Lianna.
[14:43] <Lianna_Cien> "Student council? Please, tell me more after class...I'll answer your questions then."
[14:45] <Neph-GM> She nods and the professor raises his hand and balls it into a fist. Everyone goes quiet. "Moving on," he begins...
[14:45] <Neph-GM> Eventually, the turn to introduce herself reaches Miu, one of the last.
[14:46] <Neph-GM> *************NEVERMIND***********
[14:46] <Abraham_Campbell> lol
[14:47] <Neph-GM> Soon enough the turn for introductions comes to DJ.
[14:48] <DJ_Hammond> DJ stands up. "Name's DJ. I'm from Poteau, Oklahoma. I play baseball. Nice to meet you all."
[14:51] <Neph-GM> "May, we got a new player!" The Victoria says loudly. "Vee!" The blonde exclaims. Steiner facepalms.
[14:54] <Neph-GM> Eventually, the turn to introduce herself reaches Miu, one of the last.
[14:54] * Miu_Setogiri stands up and gives a bow towards the teacher. "I am Setogiri Miu and it is very nice to meet all of you!" she holds up a peace sign.
[14:59] <Neph-GM> "Setogir, more about yourself, where are you from, what do you like?" The teacher asks.
[15:02] <Miu_Setogiri> "I sing! I'm from Kyoto but I've traveled a lot and seen so many cities. Meeting all the people there is my favorite part."
[15:02] * Miu_Setogiri smiles.
[15:03] <Neph-GM> A boy gasps loudly. "No way!" He points at Miu. "You're the singer from..." he knocks on his head twice, "Fuyu no Hana!"
[15:04] * Miu_Setogiri nods. "But now I am here, so I will do my best in Elysium!"
[15:07] <Neph-GM> The class starts murmuring. "What's Fuyu no Hana?" A girl asks the boy that spoke up."It's like... the third best teen j-pop group, they're super famous over in Japan."
[15:08] * DJ_Hammond looks at Miu surprised.
[15:09] * Miu_Setogiri seems almost used to the situation and waits, still smiling.
[15:10] <Neph-GM> "Why are you here?" The golden-haired girl sitting behind Miu asks her.
[15:10] <Miu_Setogiri> "To save the world!"
[15:10] * Miu_Setogiri turns to her before answering.
[15:11] <Neph-GM> The classroom goes quiet.
[15:11] * DJ_Hammond is pretty sure that was supposed to be confidential.
[15:11] <Miu_Setogiri> "Did I say something wrong?"
[15:16] * Abraham_Campbell turns away from the window to watch this asian retard blow her cover.
[15:18] <DJ_Hammond> "She meant she's starring in a film. Some robot movie. Robo-tron or something. Heard about it on the news."
[15:18] <DJ_Hammond> He says it rather lamely, as if he realizes nobody will buy that
[15:19] <Neph-GM> People turn to look at DJ, and murmuring resumes. "She's going from singing to acting?" You hear someone say.
[15:20] <Miu_Setogiri> "I-I can act. I was on TV shows in japan!"
[15:20] <DJ_Hammond> "It's pretty common. Lots of stars do that."
[15:20] <Neph-GM> "Wait, does that mean they're filming a movie here in Elyium?!" A girl asks rather loudly.
[15:22] <DJ_Hammond> "I guess. I mean, most of the studios in california flooded, right?"
[15:22] * DJ_Hammond isn't quite sure if they did or not
[15:23] <Neph-GM> "I wonder who's acting on it..." "Let me check the movie sites for..." "Isn't it like impossible to get NERV approval for..."
[15:23] * Miu_Setogiri quietly sits back down.
[15:24] <Neph-GM> The professor silences the class before more comes out of the discussion. "Let's wrap this up, we're running out of time. Next up..."
[15:26] <Neph-GM> The golden haired girl stands up, her hair tied in a ponytail. "I'm May Taylor, I eh... like watching movies, and playing sports... that's all."
[15:27] <Neph-GM> "You're selling yourself short!" Victoria calls out.
[15:29] <Neph-GM> May takes a deep breath and raises her right arm. “I’ve got the best throwing arm in the geofront.  If you join the baseball club, we’ll form a team to crush all others in Elysium and beyond.”
[15:30] <Neph-GM> Victoria starts clapping. The rest of the class stares on, in silence.
[15:30] * Abraham_Campbell is starting to do head math on whether or not he would survive jumping out the window to avoid all these people.
[15:34] <Neph-GM> Prof. Steiner rubs his forehead. The bell rings, signaling the end of homeroom. "Alright... Walker, Wright... they'll get to know you later. Kids don't have science today, so I'll see you tomorrow." He stands up an unceremoniously leaves.
[15:34] * Abraham_Campbell gets the fuck out, taking little time to pack his stuff up since he never bothered unpacking in the first place.
[15:36] * Miu_Setogiri collects her things and makes her way to the door.
[15:38] * Abraham_Campbell wanders the halls, while he doesn't have a set destination he sure looks it, and is hopefully left alone until he finds an isolated area.
[15:39] * Miu_Setogiri returns after finding a bathroom.
[15:42] <Lianna_Cien> "So...while we're between classes...would you mind telling me about this council?"
[15:42] * Abraham_Campbell pulls out his cellphone once he's found somewhere good, and calls up NERV.
[15:43] * DJ_Hammond has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
[15:48] <Neph-GM> "Oh, I just know the current president," Victoria says, "or... I suppose she'll be president this year. You should go to the Student Council room after classes, they'll fill you in better than I could."
[15:50] <Lianna_Cien> "Ah...well, if I find the system is lacking, my intention is to take over, same as I did at my old school."
[15:51] <Neph-GM> Victoria looks surprised. "You were student president in your old school?"

[15:53] <Lianna_Cien> "In a sense....I took over the whole place."
[15:53] <Neph-GM> "Wow, really? How big was the school?"
[15:56] <Lianna_Cien> "Fairly large, not quite as big as this one mind you, but Boston was suffering under some freaky shit...probably still is."
[15:58] <Neph-GM> "I see... still, taking on all of the student council's responsibilites yourself. You must be very diligent." She nods in approval.
[15:58] <Neph-GM> "I'm sure Caitlin would love to have someone like you on board."
[16:02] <Lianna_Cien> "We'll see. I'll have a talk with them later."
[16:03] <Lianna_Cien> "Surprised I haven't been getting many funny looks though."
[16:06] * Abraham_Campbell puts his phone away and...decides to take it slowly back to class, not like he's going to miss anything that matters.
[16:10] <Neph-GM> "Oh? Red is fine too as long as you bring the vest and skirt."
[16:12] <Neph-GM> The first few periods go by without much incident, the teachers introducing themselves and earnestly starting with their courses. It isn’t until lunch break until the pilots have more free time.
[16:15] * Miu_Setogiri has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)

[16:20] * Abraham_Campbell finds some time at the beginning of lunch to pull Miu aside somewhere.
[16:21] <Miu_Setogiri> "Yes?"
[16:22] <Abraham_Campbell> "Miss Setogiri, have you been briefed on your purpose and conduct here."
[16:22] <Abraham_Campbell> "PROPERLY?"
[16:22] * Miu_Setogiri shifts back as he yells.
[16:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "As important as our job it, it is important we maintain secrecy."
[16:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "You are not to tell others why you are here, you are to lie."
[16:23] <Miu_Setogiri> "No one said that."
[16:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "yes, I realize."
[16:23] <Miu_Setogiri> "Then don't yell at me."
[16:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "The captain has asked me to give you a basic rundown now, and you will be given further information later."
[16:23] <Abraham_Campbell> "For now, I will tell you this."
[16:24] <Abraham_Campbell> "Lie, lie about all of this. Make the lies somewhat believable and do not bring them up again."
[16:24] <Abraham_Campbell> "Avoid making arrangements and scheduling anything outside of school hours, do not allow your NERV identification out of your sight, do not "show it off.""
[16:25] <Abraham_Campbell> "Any questions?"
[16:25] <Miu_Setogiri> "Why?"
[16:26] <Abraham_Campbell> "Not everyone is as dedicated to the safety of man as we are."
[16:26] <Abraham_Campbell> "There are organizations that either would simply get in the way of NERV, or may openly be against us."
[16:27] <Miu_Setogiri> "..So I have to lie to everyone and can't do anything outside of school?"
[16:27] <Abraham_Campbell> "For the most part? Yes."
[16:27] <Abraham_Campbell> "Angels may come at any time and we must always be ready for them."
[16:28] <Miu_Setogiri> "Why do we even go?"
[16:28] * Abraham_Campbell stares at her.
[16:28] <Abraham_Campbell> "If you even have to ask that question, I reccomend requesting to be removed from the organization immediately."
[16:28] <Miu_Setogiri> "To school, dummy."
[16:28] <Abraham_Campbell> "There is nothing more important than humanity and it's survival."
[16:29] <Abraham_Campbell> "...Oh, I have asked that question myself."
[16:30] <Miu_Setogiri> "If we go to school, I am going to make friends. We can't just sit and wait to fight all the time, we still have to live our lives!"
[16:30] <Abraham_Campbell> "You do not seem to understand the gravity of what you have gotten into."
[16:31] <Abraham_Campbell> "I suggest next time you speak with Lianna or DJ, bring up the topic of miss Katie O'shae."
[16:31] <Miu_Setogiri> "I heard."
[16:32] <Abraham_Campbell> "Then you realize that the risks?"
[16:32] <Miu_Setogiri> "Yes! I know I can die, but if I stop living just to wait for something to happen, I won't be living at all! I'll fight when I need to and I'll train as hard as I can, but I'm not just going to sit and wait."
[16:33] * Abraham_Campbell folds his arms and furrows his brow.
[16:33] <Abraham_Campbell> "Well...."
[16:33] <Abraham_Campbell> "...Alright, I apologize, I have a nasty habit of judging everyone by my own standards."
[16:33] <Abraham_Campbell> "As long as you make sure to never blow off something with NERV for something with friends, then it should not become an issue."
[16:34] <Miu_Setogiri> "I won't."
[16:34] <Abraham_Campbell> "Good to hear, this conversation never happened."
[16:35] * Abraham_Campbell nods his head, then heads for the door and heads back into the school to find somewhere to chill.
[16:35] * Miu_Setogiri goes back down to finish lunch.
[16:54] <Neph-GM> Lunch break ends without further incident, as do the rest of the periods. By the time classes end, the light outside has taken on a more yellowish/orange tint.  Most students immediately leave, some staying to chat a while or finish assignments.
[16:55] * Abraham_Campbell packs his shit up and heads home.
[16:56] * Lianna_Cien heads back to the council room
[16:56] * DJ_Hammond goes to find the girls regarding the baseball club
[16:58] * Miu_Setogiri talks with some people, explaining when they ask about it, it's actually an album she's working on.
[17:11] * Abraham_Campbell remembers he has a large stack of books he apparently owes to the library, hauls ass back to the apartment.
