An American fellow was sitting in a seat on the train on the way to Birmingham. Another person next to him asked him the time and he responded he didn't know. Observing the American flag lapel on his shirt, the man proceeded to shout "Oh well look at we got here, another ignorant American.". He then proceeded to call him names such as "Idiot", "Ameritard", "Buckets of Lard" and "Really really dumb" while making claims such as "Americans can't tell time, Americans can't tell time! They don't teach time in American schools, they don't! You know what USA really stands for? Uselessly Stupid American!".
After several minutes had passed, which the American could not tell because he could not recognize time, another passenger stood up and took the berating man by the shoulder and said "You know what? I am an American too." Another man on the train stood up and said "I too am an American!". Following this act several other stood up and started clapping "I too am American and if you don't stop harassing that man, we'll have to show you the American way out of here." The man was quickly overwhelmed by the entire train being full of American sympathizers and trans-Americans, and found himself off at the next stop, with several bruises and cuts as he made his way to the local hospital.
The first man who stood up is reported as saying to the bullied American the following line; "It's okay that you don't know time mate, you're American and we understand that. Sorry that some of us are insensitive to your kind."
The American was then reportedly sung the Star Spangled Banner by the entire train to heal his broken spirit.
