  1. [09:57] <loona_> I just tried it from Internet Explorer and it worked.
  2. [09:59] <@jfred> loona_: I don't have a Windows machine handy to test with, but I tried in Chromium 36.0.1985.125 and it worked fine. Are you using an input method other than the default maybe?
  3. [10:00] <loona_> I am simply typing directly into the text box using a standard keyboard.
  4. [10:01] <AlexC_> loona_: Try Incognito mode, maybe it's an extension messing it up
  5. [10:01] <AlexC_> Oh, I nearly forgot
  6. [10:01] * AlexC_ drinks Tea
  7. [10:02] <Tea> AlexC_: i have already glugged down your ground up entrails. there will be no more tea drinking from you.
  8. [10:02] <AlexC_> How about slurping?
  9. [10:02] <Tea> this is getting awfully personal
  10. [10:03] == djm- [~djm@5d60a8bb.skybroadband.com] has quit [Quit: My MacBook Pro has gone to sleep. ZZZzzz…]

  12. [10:07] <loona_> Same issue in incognito, trying laptop
  13. [10:13] <loona_> Just tried it from my Chromebook, the same error happens.  I then tried it from another desktop with the same version of Chrome and it worked 2 times in a row.  Went back to my original desktop and the error still happens.
  14. [10:15] <@jfred> O.o
  15. [10:15] == stbatduke [~stb24@152.16.52.121] has joined #linode

  17. [10:20] <loona_> I am inspecting the network requests...on the machine that errors, the first request is to (/dns/resource_save/whateverdomain.com?id=0).  On the machine that works, the first request is the same, but rather than a 200, it gets a 302 and redirects to (/dns/domain/).  I cleared cache/cookies and it makes no difference either way.
  18. [10:22] <@jfred> Right, that's the normal behavior for success/failure - successfully adding a record will bring you back to the page for that zone
  19. [10:23] <gparent> were the contents of each POST the same?
  20. [10:23] <gparent> every parameter?
  21. [10:23] <loona_> I believe so but let me check again.
  22. [10:25] == stickee [~Thunderbi@0001c12e.user.oftc.net] has quit [Quit: stickee]
  23. [10:26] <loona_> the POST is exactly the same except for the "authenticity_token"
  24. [10:27] <gparent> was worth a try
  25. [10:29] <@jfred> loona_: No leading or trailing whitespace on the alias?
  26. [10:36] <loona_> Well...after clicking "view URL encoded" with the POST data, I see that the browsers that error add what appears to be an encoded Byte Order Mark to the end of the "target" string.  So it's getting "domains.tumblr.com%EF%BB%BF".  This doesn't happen on the machine that worked correctly.
  27. [10:37] <gparent> \o/
  28. [10:37] <@jfred> aha
  29. [10:37] <loona_> It happens on the both the Chromebook and my desktop
