  1. Thesis statement: Monetary classes between Blathazar and Montiel.
  2. Perspective: Marxist perspective.
  3. • In the story, Balthazar's Marvelous Afternoon, It is seen that Balthazar is classified poorer than Sir Montiel, because there are a matter of points to this. First, If Balthazar was rich, he would not be a carpenter and an artist. Balthazar can be classified as the lower class and the masses since he is more of a "shopkeeper" and Sir Montiel can be classified as an Upper Class man as he is classified to be rich by the people. The Power seems to be with Balthazar, who gave the cage to the <Insert Rich man's son name> as a gift, even though he knows that Sir Montiel has the power over Balthazar by the menas of class and Balthazar is in his household, he refused and gained power through courage. This can also be seen on "<Insert quote about Balthazar's dream to make lots of cages and sell them for 60 pesos.>" as his rise from his status to something bigger, even an entreprenuer who sells book cages. This can mean an uprise or development of people wanting to have power in the colombian times. http://countrystudies.us/colombia/38.htm.
