  1. Ra'id was born near an oasis deep inside the Arabic Kingdom, in a small community of bedouins which were collaborating with the local government to deal with the bandits that constantly harassed the farmers and the merchants.
  2.
  3. He was trained, as all the members of the warring tribe, in fighting with the standard round metal shield and scimitar weapons of the eastern deserts and, since his coming of age, in warring the bandits that were plaguing the land.
  4. The life was rough, and little time had he left for anything that was not duty. But yet he was happy, for he knew he was doing right and fullfilling his role in the tribe, as well as pleasing his father, last remaining part of his family.
  5.
  6. In future he would have to marry someone out of duty, and obviously procreate sons who would further help the tribe and its history suvive the harsh climate and its hostile neighbors but again, he could accept all, for he was thankful that he had a group that would protect him, in exchange of his duty towards it.
  7.
  8. He managed anyway to get some few sweet memories of his youth, such as the freidnly competitions with the boys of his age, or the infatuation for the tribe leader's daughter, which was unlikely he could ever get to know better, let alone marry.
  9.
  10. Mixed in were, of course, also bitter or embarassing memories, such as his repeated and costant failures to learn proper riding that always prompted his father to violently scold him, or his personal disgust for the local liquor made from fermented milk, that all the adults were supposed to like and enjoy.
  11.
  12. Everything was part of the normal life of a desert bedouin, until the local Governor A'zaam betrayed the bedouins by allying with the biggest bandit in the zone to split the gains of his robbery and prepared a trap for the bedouins to die and disappear in the sands.
  13.
  14. Fortunately, Ra'id was ill because his father had sensed some subterfuge in the Governor plan and fed him slightly poisoned date to stop him from partecipating in the battle, without ruining his honor in front of the tribe.
  15.
  16. As soon as the news of the events reached him, together with the couple of remainings bedouins, he knew the worst had happened and he had to flee.
  17.
  18. After sending warning to all the other tribes remaining, the few who survived the treachery, he took off to the closest ship, mustering his forces and slowly steeling himself for betrayal of the lands he knew, but such was the only path that could lead him to survival and vengeance, swearing he would be back and that when it would happen, he would first take everything dear to A'zaam and the slowly murder and butcher him for days.
  19.
  20. TLDR Sword and board arabic male char, good guy.
